No offense, but drinking here felt like a night in jail where everyone received canteen, and it included booze. It felt like a carpeted cave in a southern state, but also a penal institution. I'm not sure if if being too vague, but it felt like I was in jail and allowed to drink. I did 1 Heineken at the castle. Pounded it. Bailed. Now I'm at a Mexican restaurant that charges $30 to get in. Be sure to read that review. read more

e bartender Billy is awful, trashy, and spun out on meth or some sort of a drug and it's very obvious. When I went to to order my husbands 2nd drink she just ignored me,I stood there for a good 10 mins and she wasn't busy she was chatting w some guys 2 seats away, I ended up walking away so my husband walked up and she ran right over to him, she was so all over him, flirty, touchy, etc , she almost forgot to make his drink. and when we left she tried slipping him her number , he told her he was very happily married she said she didnt care it be their little secret ! he refuses to take her number ! very very unprofessional and disrespectful! if you are out as a couple I'd stay clear of this place ! the local Redding whore house ! read more

The reason why I give this place five stars is because it is the only place in town that has flaming drinks. Not only that, but they were very supportive to us tourists celebrating a bachelorette. Drinking a flaming drink was on our scavenger hunt and they were so sweet to provide that and give us a wonderful time. This place is simple, divey, mostly full of men. They were all so nice and helpful. Maybe you'll find your prince at this Castle! I don't know if they do karaoke here, but I could totally see that being a success at this location. I was disappointed to hear a negative review for Castle Lounge, a bar I frequent and enjoy. In my opinion, to make an accurate review of a Bar, Cocktail Lounge, or a Night Club, one must go there on more than one occasion. I am reminded of the song "I love this bar" by Toby Keith; all walks of life come in and are welcome at Castle Lounge. The core groups of people (regulars) are a caring loving bunch of folks that remind me of the television show "Cheers". The Castle Lounge currently has Karaoke every Wednesday night which draws a crowd. The rest of the weekday's people enjoy the 2 pool tables, darts, video games, Wii gaming system, 7 televisions, internet jukebox, and a smoking area when you can also drink your adult beverages. Weekends tend to be a little busier but people still have a lot of fun. On occasion I have seen several theme events including, crazy hat night, a toga party, costumed beer pong (Halloween), and many other fun events. The bartenders and the owners are very friendly people and serve reasonably priced adult beverages. There is at least one bartender who has a talent for flair, and can spin, flip and dazzle you with bartender flair that you might only see in Vegas. Security is well maintained and the bartenders know how to handle the crowd. Also there are many video cameras that give you the added feeling of security. The bottom line is if you want to come out and have fun, enjoy reasonable priced drinks with friendly staff, and feel safe and secure, then Castle Lounge is the place to be. read more

I love going to the Castle Lounge. I have been going off and on since my 21st birthday and it's typically my go to. Steve is the best bartender. Only thing I wish was different is the karaoke every single weekend. Sometimes my friends and I will go and want to listen to music but still be able to talk to each other. That isn't possible here. The juke box was awesome to have a variety of music with a manageable volume. I will note that I have noticed a lot of different bars are doing karaoke more frequently, not just this place. read more

I just moved to redding I'm a bartender south of here, Upon coming into the bar I thought it looked cool. They have pool tables and a stage good sound system, the place is handicap friendly which is nice since one of us is wheelchair bound. We found a table and sat down. I Waited to go order our non alcoholic beverages for about 10 mins, none of us were ID, until after I ordered a juice, pitcher of root beer, and 2 waters when I ordered the water a customer said you know what to do spray her... Steve grabbed the tap and I said DO NOT SPRAY ME. HE then said don't tell me what to do and acted as if he would spray me, he then told me he could not serve me and my friends a pitcher of soda because later tonight he will be busy and need it. It's 845 and not busy, so After STEVE ran my card he choose to id one of my friends and myself. But not my other 2 friends who are younger then myself. As I stood at the bar waiting for my already poured drinks just sitting there behind the bar steve went to make other people's drinks i watched him pour 2 beers and make 2 mixed drinks before I said excuse me I said it again before reaching behind the bar and grabbing the 2 waters and cup of soda I then said excuse me a couple more times loudly and he said I will be right with you. I said can I please get my juice with grenadine. He then rudely gave me my juice. I have never been to a bar for the first time and had such a rude person as a bartender (I'm a recovering alcoholic so I've been to plenty) I feel completely discriminated against. I feel like because we have someone who is handicap and we are not drinking alcohol. (We came for karaoke) we are being discriminated against and being mistreated. This really just ruined my night and made me sad there are so many rude, hateful people. read more

10-13-2023....Normally I don't make effort to leave a review, but this was not right. Me and my wife were having a great time, letting off some steam due to her having some serious diagnosis of cancer. At 1am, final drinks were called. We continued to play pool until closing time as what could be our last moments shared as we don't know how bad the cancer diagnosis is. At 1:30am (yes I was watching time to be respectful), a man who everyone else thought was a customer as he was drinking to excess and doing karaoke, was telling everyone to leave. But his telling people to leave was yelling at them. And multiple times he kept looking at me. The time I was seeing on my phone was 1:38am, 8 minutes after final call. The guy yelled again "final call, time to leave!!" And was being very angry with the customers and had a mean look towards me. In this time, during final call, my wife was talking with a guy who was talking about types of cancer treatments that could help her. She responded that it's not even close to 2am and that we're talking about cancer treatments. The man responded again "it's time to leave, you need to go!!" He turned his back to push in more chairs and I clear as day heard him mumble "why can't people just fucking leave." Yes I will be contacting Castle Lounge, and want to speak with their boss to get this situation resolved. read more

The Castle is definitely my go-to spot. The atmosphere is always super fun, great karaoke Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. Tons of super awesome regulars and there's always new people to meet. There's always something fun happening. The best part is the staff. Every person that works there has always been so great to us. The drinks are awesome and the prices are ridiculously reasonable. Serena, Steve and Daulton are awesome bartenders that become your friends. Lance is the best KJ in the game. His song selection and attention to detail is unreal. Give the castle a shot. I am not from this area. I was visiting my friend for her birthday. 3 of us looked online and we found this. We all got a drink for 9.25. Hennessey and pineapple juice. I opened a tab on my debit card but we decided to leave after the 1 drink so I asked to close out my tab. I got a bill for $38. Why would 3 drinks at $10 each be $38. I asked about it and the guy said there was a $1 atm fee. Ok that leaves $7. Needless to say I didn't leave a tip. They added it in themselves. Pretty shady. If you go here I wouldn't leave a card and I would pay cash for every drink. read more

On a afternoon outing the Stalker club of Redding (S.C.O.R.) made a stop by one of our home bases the Castle Lounge on Hartnell. In our reviews we cannot be prejudice but here at the Castle is a very pretty bartender named little Chrystal.She is always giving great service with a smile and with the bar having great ambiance it is a good place to go on an afternoon. the bar has great and plenty of seating and features a lot of TVs to watch. Pricing is good with a lot of specials. We give this bar a four out of a six pack. go on a Monday and ask for Chrystal. read more

This was a pretty cool place to drink, although expensive. The music was nice and loud, and there are a couple dart boards, pool tables, and interactive eat your dollar video machines. The bartender was pretty cool too, and it was fun to watch her throw out some fools because he didn't know how old he was. The problem I had here was the drink price for a beer, and I do understand on the sign it does say what time it's at the cheaper price, but the writing's so small on the poster that you don't notice it as you make a rush for the door going in. This is my favorite bar in Redding. I moved to the west side but I still venture over to Hartnell from time to time just for Castle Lounge.
