What do you do when it rains 14 inches on your wedding weekend? Well, you can't do much, but you do call your photographer. OR, your photographer calls YOU to make sure YOU'RE OK! That's what happened on the rainiest recorded weekend in Dallas history. I got a call from Shaun and Shannon the Wednesday before the wedding, ensuring me that all was going to be ok, rain or shine. He had ideas on how to shoot in darker atmospheres, knew our portraits would be in the complete dark and they still are some of the best photos my husband and I will ever have. Our friends are still raving and passing our wedding pics around email and Facebook and they are also proudly framed around the house. Shaun did our wedding photos and we were blown away, not just by the images but with the entire experience. Shaun was super friendly and professional in the "sales" process and getting the everything set up for him to do our pictures. We were a little concerned with how expensive he was, but we knew going with a photographer like Shaun almost guaranteed great images. We only got one shot at great images and we didn't want to take the risk with a less experienced photographer. We were really happy with our our engagements turned out and had a blast hanging out with him while shooting. He really made the experience not feel awkward at all. The day of the wedding was awesome. The whole wedding party and family loved him. He was punctual and hilarious with everyone. Not that you hire a photographer for how they'll get along with everyone, but you'll spend a lot of time with them so you can know he's stellar. And of course the pictures turned out awesome. They captured the day so well. He got them to us on time and we love them. Knowing we will be looking at these for the next 60 years (fingers crossed), we are so glad. On a side note- Our jump drive he mailed us quit working shortly after he sent it to us. We had it long enough to get our pictures but were a little disappointed not to have the original drive for another piece of storage. We told him we could wait to exchange it but he went above and beyond and mailed us a new drive. It's a small gesture but it meant a lot. If you're considering Shaun, go with it. You won't regret it. They made me look like such a beautiful bride and there are no words for how in awe I am of their work. I'd give these guys more starts if that were possible. I can't even begin to describe how wonderful our experience was working with Shaun, as well as his lovely wife. We got married on 10/19 in Austin. We needed to stay within a fairly small budget and were completely nontraditional in our requests. We didn't want any bridal or formal wedding portraits. We simply wanted someone there to capture the day for us. Shaun did just that, and in a way that exceeded my wildest expectations. My husband and I aren't "picture people". After 5 years together, we probably have less than 5 pictures of ourselves. Shaun made us feel totally comfortable and we even had a great time taking some candid pictures with him before the wedding. After the wedding, Shaun put together an amazing slide show which is truly amazing. Everyone who has watched it says that they feel like they were there for the whole day with us. Honestly, you can't ask for more. What a fantastic, lovely, sweet, fun and professional couple! I highly recommend them! Shaun is based in Dallas, but will travel wherever! Because he's priced more reasonably than most photographers, it's totally feasible to have him travel to your event! You'll be happy you did! read more

I really can't say enough good things about Shaun and Shannon. They made us feel like we had been friends for years - so much so, that our families and wedding party thought we were old friends! I knew from the minute we were engaged that I didn't want anyone else as our wedding photographers. To start, I had seen the work they did on my brother and his wife's wedding and was in awe of everything. These two were made for each other, their love and infectious personalities add the cherry on top to the ability Shaun and Shannon have behind the camera. We had a lot of fun and they really make you feel beautiful. I took my bridals in mid December outside and it was in the 30's . They did an awesome job and made me look flawless. I received my pictures and fell in love. On the day of our wedding, it was raining and muddy, they found the best spots to photograph and when the rain stopped we finished out pictures off the porch and my husband carried me to each spot they had picked out. I know that I will forever be able to remember every detail of our wedding because of these two. We love Shaun Menary! Shaun delivers crisp photos brimming with pure emotion. We knew that when we hired Shaun we would be getting his technical expertise, but we were not banking on how much emotion he would be able to capture in each shot. Shaun took pictures of our Mehndi ceremony and wedding. Each picture caught so much life and joy. A few weeks after the wedding, one of my relatives abroad commented that Shaun's pictures captured light, color, and emotion in a way that she had never seen before. I recommend him for that reason alone. It also helps that my husband and I have never looked better than in the pictures Shaun took of us! Shaun's team was fantastic as well. He brought his amazing wife Shannon to all the shoots. She took pictures with Shaun and always kept on eye on my hair, makeup and clothes--something that came in handy repeatedly. The Menary team was always punctual, but were flexible and forgiving about our own unpredictable schedules and time delays. They also got along well with our guests. Actually, that's a little of an understatement. Our guests were raving about Shaun after the wedding because he was able to contort his body like an acrobat to capture shots, and they were raving about Shaun after we got the pictures because they saw why it was worth it for Shaun to go above and beyond for his shots. Shaun and Shannon were also able to successfully corral my unwieldy family members for all the family photos. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE MENARY'S! They were so wonderful to work with from day one. We met at a wine bar to say hello and I enjoyed their company and what they had to offer immediately. They were extremely helpful throughout the wedding process and kept me on track through an engagement shoot, bridal portrait's and were SO much fun to work with on our wedding day. Him and his wife Shannon work together and they photographed our proposal, our engagement party, our engagement photo shoot, and all 3 days of our wedding!
