Fresh, good, a little pricey for a pita. Had the chicken, might try the beef next time.

Was good when they first opened but looks like they handed it or sold it to cheap ppl. Quality went downhill since the new owners.

The Long Version: My husband and I were chilling in our hotel when my husband had a hankering for some shawarma. He didn't want to go too far, and I encouraged him to try a new-to-us place, lol. So a quick search led him to Shawarmaz. Shawarmaz is a Canadian company that started 2013 in Montreal. It has several locations but they are all in the Greater Montreal Area. My husband got the beef shawarma in a pita $9.79. They have the option of getting your shawarma in Saj bread or a baguette and those options are more expensive. He got lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, turnips and onions. For his sauces he got hummus, spicy garlic and chipotle. He enjoyed the shawarma. I had a bite so I could review it (I also went with him so I could see the restaurant and take pictures) haha. I thought it was pretty good. They give you a decent amount of protein. And the beef was flavourful and not gristly. I was surprised that the wrap was not too spicy considering the sauces he chose. The decor is fast food restaurant-like. Service was good but it did take a while for the food, although it's likely because there was a pretty long line up. Review #205 (2025)

I would say maybe I had overly high expectations for this place from all the reviews ( on Google)…read morethat I feel a bit disappointed. But don't get me wrong , the food tasted good. So here is some good and not-so-good points; - taste of the food is good - food quality similar to some other Syrian/Palestinian places I have tried (nothing exceptionally great , nor bad) - portion size of the main dishes is on the small size - they served us dishes that we didn't order, as we were wondering which dish is which, they came and took them all back with little explanation - they served each of us welcome drink (lentil soup), after-meal sweet tea , and offered us rose water for our hands after, which was nice

The Short Version: Cozy middle eastern restaurant. With…read morelots of different dishes from the Middle East. Food was delicious. The Long Version: My husband and I had lunch here and it was fantastic. We both got the bowl option ($14.99), where you got to choose a base, a vegetable, a protein, and a starter. I had read online that for the base you could actually get half and half of two different options. So I opted for this to try different things. So for my base I got the half bulgur and half Mujaddara (which is lentils and rice), for my protein I got the Musakhan chicken, and for my vegetable I had chosen the spinach but somehow ended up with the Awarma (ground beef) instead. And for my starter I got the fattoush. The bulgur was delicious. It was tender and flavourful. The Mujaddara was also great. The rice was fluffy and the lentils were not too hard, but not too mushy. The Musakhan chicken was so good. It was my first time having a Palestinian dish. I loved that it was cubes of breast meat and very lean, yet tender and moist. It had warm spices to it like sumac and allspice. Like I mentioned, for my vegetable I chose the spinach, but somehow I ended up with ground beef. It tasted good and I'm always up for more protein, so I didn't complain, lol. Awarma is Lebanese dish. The ground beef did taste a little too fatty for my liking, but the flavor was good. The fattouch, which is also a Lebanese dish, was very good. It was romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and crispy pita chips. I thoroughly enjoyed my bowl. My husband got a different combination of items in his bowl. He got the bulgur, Syrian chicken, mixed vegetables, and hummus. I had a taste of the Syrian chicken and it was good. It had a lemony taste to it and also came with potatoes. I didn't try any of the mixed vegetables but it looked like green beans and carrots in a tomato based sauce. My husband really liked his bowl too. We both got a few arils of pomegranate sprinkled on top, some toasted slivered almonds, and a slice of lime with our bowls. Not sure if this is the garnish on all bowls or not. I enjoyed the crunch of the almonds and the tangy burst that the pomegranate provided. My husband thought the lime was a slice of zucchini and bit into it to discover it was a slice of lime, lol. I knew it was a piece of lime so I just put mine to the side, lol. Oh before our meal we got some complimentary pita chips and a sample of their lentil soup. The pita chips are the same as what was on my fattoush. They were nice and crunchy but a little oily for my taste. The lentil soup was okay but way too salty for my taste. I appreciated being able to try these items for free though. Service was courteous and efficient. The restaurant is small and cozy and nicely decorated. It is in a basement unit so down a steep flight of stairs. We were so full after our meals but they had some very interesting looking desserts. They had desserts that looks like a bird's nest and also some delicious looking Turkish delight. I will need to try them on another visit. Street parking only. Review #15 (2026)
