I went in on 10/27/2025 and witnessed a manager/boss yell and degrade at an employee to the point of her bursting in tears. I could hear it from the front part of the dispensary and it was horrifying. I definitely will not give my business to a store with this kind of work environment. Pretty bummed on how this place went downhill so quickly when the same manager/people from sodo came to the Belltown location. Old inventory, customer service is now lacking heavily and some of the products are super old no matter the price range and major boof. PRO TIP: Stay away from last chance deals too...these things can sit for up to a year if not longer and the only inventory I think that may be fresh is mama Js because they come to visit stores frequently, I've also seen fresh shipments on solar, but that's sort of all. If you spend a respectable amount you should get what you pay for but that's just not the case here. Quality is lacking. read more

I'm a photographer and I've traveled all over Seattle and Oregon taking pictures, and because of that, frequent many different dispensaries. Sean Kemps is by far the best one I have ever attended. Their bartenders are all extremely knowledgeable and some of their products are cheap on a level that I don't quite grasp. I currently purchase Full spec elite liquid for about $30 a gram. It is the highest quality concentrate I've ever purchased, and I'm not sure how they're able to achieve it at that price but they do. Do you yourself a favor and check this place out. Amazing staff! I had an issue that a few other cannabis stores couldn't/wouldn't help me out. Kemp's came through for me. Prices are normal, with occasionally amazing deals! (Check online, order the deal online, pick up in stores!) Budtenders helped me pick out what type of flower to get. I'm from out of state and I don't know the brands or even the strains, as everything is different than California. I was a bit anxious and overwhelmed. Kemp's Cannabis is my preferred spot for my THC needs. In all my visits, attendants are chill, funny, and helpful. The space is nice. Though I've never seen it crowded in here, I like how clean and spacious it looks. My latest visit I was looking to pick up a little variety of things to give for gifts. The attendant was really helpful. I told him how much money I had, and he put together a nice little kit of buds and pre-rolls all within the $60 budget I laid out. He then took the time to talk about each item, how popular it is, his personal opinion of it, the effects it should have and more. I've been to a few dispensaries, and this is easily one of the best. I appreciate the patience and helpfulness for someone who isn't an expert on all the strains and purposes and more relating to the products. They have a large inventory, so it's likely they'll have something to suit your preferences. I hope in one of my visits I get to catch Mr. Kemp. read more

I live across the street from Shawn Kemp's weed store and go there a lot. They've never had stellar customer service there in the 4 years I've lived across the street. I always decide to ignore it because it's pointless to mention bad attitudes of employees these days because it never changes. However I have decided to never again purchase another thing from that store because I am sick and tired of their employees attitude! I went into there waited in line and when it was my turn I walked to a glass case and I pointed to the two joints that I wanted the lady went and got them and then I was asking for a paraphernalia item to use to smoke with on the other section of the store. She grabbed that for me. When she came back and told me the price I was so surprised because the joints I wanted were $5 each and the paraphernalia piece I didn't think was that expensive so I asked her why it was so expensive cuz and I told her that I thought the price was wrong and she proceeded to tell me that I just said I wanted infused joints and random joints I didn't want specific spot ones so I said to her oh I thought my walking up to the glass case and physically pointing at them was good enough but that's my bad I apologize for not being more specific. For some reason me saying that didn't ease the situation but gave her a reason to argue with me and flip me more attitude. So she got the correct joints and came back and told me 19.50 was the new price. Again I was really surprised at that and asked her why and she said it was cuz the paraphernalia piece I wanted and I proceeded to say oh no I don't want that it's way more expensive than it should be and she again flipped me attitude for changing my mind. I asked her what her problem was with me for changing my mind and she said she thought I would have seen the price so I would have known it. Well if you ever see their prices which when I say if you ever see them I mean if, because their prices on the paraphernalia are so small and hard to find and usually facing backwards in the case that you can't ever see it. Now I decided to let all this go and I'm on the other side of the store after I did my purchase and I proceed to hear her in another customer talk s*** about me thinking I have left the store! So I had to go to the manager and let him know and while the manager Jose was very nice he looked at me with dead eyes and didn't say anything when I said my complaint. He didn't reassure me that it wasn't going to happen again he didn't apologize for the attitude he or the lack of customer service nothing like a good manager supposed to! So I knew I was going to leave a review so I went and asked for her name she refused to tell me her name I went to the manager and asked his name he gave it to me his name was so that Jose and then refused to give me her name. So now I have to refer to as the short Asian chick with a lot of f****** attitude. So I don't know if Sean Kemp actually ever reads reviews and will see this but he comes from a generation that had respect and knows what customer service was about so he needs to get back in his store and check his employees cuz I live across the street and will never stop there again, I will go out of my way to go to other stores because the level of customer service in his store has always been so bad it's shameful! On top of that don't ever go there because their prices are always way more expensive than every other weed store anyway so if you want good weed with good customer service and no attitude for cheaper prices go anywhere else! read more

This review is actually based off of my husband's experience visiting this location thus far 3 times. Considering the number of dispensaries in the Seattle to Mill Creek areas passing the possibly 100 options says something to the value, and customer experience provided by this location. My husband really appreciates the premium selection, and prices. From the pictures the dispensary seems to be decorated around the Sonic color scheme, very nostalgic and I'm certain the city appreciates seeing the iconic Sonic Boom on the side of the building. Shawn Kemp has been at the location while my husband was shopping and he stated he was extremely friendly and welcoming to every customer. I am always looking for good deals, and was happy to see their menu was easy to navigate and filter through to find exactly what you want. These guys got the goods at the prices you need. Very rare find in Seattle. My favorite go to I'm the city. They even have nba jam while you wait. Brings back memories. Haven't had time to get in a full game but we still get down every now amd then. My favorite part of this store isn't the free arcade games. But how they let me pre order. Sometimes I already know what I want so they helps speed the process up. The workers are also pretty cool, but you might have to assert yourself when needing help. It can get busy and they will skip you you over and over depending on the situation. Just speak up and they will get to you. read more

I have a very sore shoulder from an injury and sore feet when I walk in cities too much which we did this trip to Seattle. I was able to Purchase Ceres Extra strength dragon balm and literally my feet felt better within 34 minutes. We use THC products where we live in CT, but we weren't sure where to go in Seattle. We had found the Ceres product earlier in our trip in Yakima but definitely wanted to get some more along with some gummies. The young gentleman who helped us was extremely pleasant and went through the sativa edibles as well as a few hybrid. He was right on the money! We thought about stopping by on their opening day but expecting a large crowd, we were concerned about being unable to maintain proper social distance. So we came by the day after instead and didn't get to meet Shawn Kemp. Initially on their website they shared the dates and times when Shawn Kemp would be in-store budtending and greeting customers, but they have removed that information from the website now. As usual you show your ID at the entrance. But from the entrance, they're doing things differently than other weed shops/dispensaries we usually frequent to. First, they take your body temperature then they give you a queue number, saying that the next available budtender would come get you. There are plenty of budtenders on the floor (approx 10ish) so you don't have to wait too long. In our case, a budtender was immediately available and came to greet us. All of the budtenders here always carry a tablet with them for inventory check and inputting orders etc. The place is clean and very spacious, decorated with some Sonics posters, Shawn Kemp's and Gary Payton's jerseys. The floor is separated into two rooms: the room where the entrance is where you browse through stuff and being assisted by your budtender and pay; the next room is where you wait to pick up your order and exit the store. Our budtender was friendly and helpful, and we probably would spend some time asking questions and recommendation if we hadn't checked their menu online and already knew exactly what we wanted to get. At the time of our visit they weren't taking online order yet, but as of yesterday you can pre-order online and pick up at the store. We told our budtender what we were interested in getting and he input our order on his tablet. Afterwards he walked us to the cashier where we paid. Then we were directed to the next room where we waited for our order to be prepared. In this room, there are some glass bongs and other accessories. There's also two NBA Jam arcade machines that you can play while waiting for your order. We didn't wait long at all. The staff behind the counter called out our number where we picked up our stuff then we handed back our number. Overall we found that the buying experience here to be unique. On top of it, they also have a very complete line-up that's competitively priced. Their online menu is also very well-done with advanced filtering options compared to others we usually ordered from. We are quite impressed with them so far, looking forward to see if they'll implement member discounts or other type of daily deals in the future. Usually love this place but over the weekend they jacked the prices up and called it 50% so it would appear close to the same price. At this point I can find drinkables at many other places for cheaper. 19 for a 2 oz drinkable is absurd. Clear choice has theirs for 12 usually down to 8 yours are 19 now and with it being 50% off its 950. Not worth at all. Extremely disappointed if anything this will deter me not to tip. And your workers are worth their tips. But a price raise thar much means their tips will be affected. Unfortunate because I like y'all but that was an aggressive up charge that was done. read more

Kemp's is one of the best dispensaries I've ever been to and my absolute go to. I'm telling you right now you're not going to find a product at a better price anywhere else in Seattle than it will be at Kemps. Their prices are a game changer and make their product accessible even to those on a budget. I often see the same items priced $5-10 more at other shops in Seattle, even in the same neighborhood. The selection is also HUGE and they have a lot of budtenders available to help all over the store. If you get lucky you might run into Shawn Kemp himself who often makes an appearance on Saturday's. Pro tip: if you know what you want when you go into the store and don't need a ton of help from a budtender just get straight into the express line near the counter to the side (you'll see yellow signs) and you'll be served faster. read more
