Their pool area seems pretty great as well, though I haven't used it myself.

There are a few in the Kansas City area. Each one has a social calendar with planned activities. Things like: a book club, art activities, and educational . There is a fitness room where they do group exercise classes plus a workout area with a few cardio, machines and strength training machines that are powered by air pressure... No clinking weights and super easy to adjust. Such a great way for an insurance company to outreach within the community. Absolutely no strings attached! If you want to use the way equipment, they would like for you to do an orientation. Some of the activities require an RSVP because of needing to have an appropriate amount of supplies. The first time you come in you register with the first name and phone number. Every time you visit you check in. That's it! Such a fabulous resource in our community.

The entrance has the coffee shop and a librarian to help direct people to the various floors. The books are on the second floor, and that is the floor that I went to. All of the people that worked there were very nice and helpful. I had a great experience with the various librarians. The second floor if you get out of the elevator and turn right is the adult/teen section with nonfiction and fiction. If you turn to the left, it is the children's section. I visited both areas and checked out books in both. This is a smaller library, but nicely updated. They have a play section in the middle of the kids section for smaller kids. I checked out some toddler books for my grandson as well.

At both productions the acoustics and the sound system were so poor that we could only understand one word out of every five. I was familiar with both shows, which made the situation doubly frustrating. During Spamalot we talked to an usher during intermission. We were seated toward the front, and she said maybe the problem was that we were too close. It was a shame, because it looked like a great show, and I'm familiar with the songs, but if you can't hear the words - it definitely loses something. But during Little Shop of Horrors we sat in the middle section, and the sound was not one bit better! I talked to the House Manager, who didn't have anything helpful to offer at all. Now this theater is offering Young Frankenstein, a musical I really love. But I hate to shell out another $30 per ticket for a show I can't hear. I'm astonished at the 5-Star reviews here. What's the secret, guys? Is there some secret place in the theater where you can actually hear the shows?

The gym area is small but it has everything you legitimately need to get your sweat on. I'm pretty sure it's only used by locals and pretty sparingly, fine by me, more room for me and I have tendency to flail around. Two swimming lanes, sometimes i arrive with both in use but I don't wait long, do some stretches and my turn. I've always had good encounters with all at the front desk. Showers are super hot. Bring your own lock, soap, and towels. There is a big gymnasium upstairs for basketball and group exercise. I would say the one downside of the center is the tiny triangular space for cardio equipment and weights. It's essentially located in the lobby. Though the space is awkward, the equipment looks to be new or in good condition.

I can tell a lot of the members live nearby and visit often. There were majority 65+ that were in the workout area or playing badminton in the gym. We came right at 11, so the crowd was more seasoned, which we enjoyed. As it got later in there day, more kids came to play basketball on the half court. Price: 10/10 For a day pass, the price is $5 which you cannot beat! Memberships are reasonable as well. Half-Courts: 2/10 We were there to play basketball with our friends. The courts are half-court, which is a bummer. Apparently, there was an issue with unruly kids a month ago, but not sure. We still had fun and nobody bothered us. Overall: 5/10 TRCC is just okay. Olathe Community Center is a lot nicer with more full courts and excellent customer service. I don't think I would visit again but I am happy that the folks living nearby have a facility to go to, especially the 65+ crowd.
