I have also had the procedure done a few times in the past and never needed anesthesia. I was told I have to have anesthesia or they would not do the procedure. I refused the treatment and they still charged me for all future procedures. They illegally made me choose between anesthesia and my right to choose or make me pay anyways. I have called and left messages but they refuse to answer and remedy the situation. So I already have it in the works through the dental board of kansas and bbb. Next is the cfpb.

Kremer, Forbes & Associates have always been very up front with me about my areas for improvement and things to look out for as I get older. They offer general dentistry, restorative care, and cosmetic dental services all in the same office. I am always impressed with advances in dental technology, my most recent experience being a three-dimensional scan of my upper and lower teeth. Gone are the days of biting down on trays to get an impression! This scan even shows areas where my teeth are experiencing more impact, potentially making me a candidate for an Invisalign experience. Amazing stuff! The office staff is always friendly and organized, and scheduling is super easy. Even if I have to make changes, they have always been flexible with either my appointments or appointments for my children. This practice takes most dental insurance, but be sure to check before making an appointment for services. Kremer & Forbes has a great location, excellent staff, and outstanding dentists that I trust with my dental care.

June 20, I receive a notice that my account is being referred to a collections agency. I was billed FOR THE FIRST TIME a year and six months later for almost $200 and given 2 weeks to pay it. I ended up having to pay double what I was told I owed at the time of surgery! If you don't have endless amounts of money that you are able to shell out with no notice then I don't recommend going here for your procedure as they may suddenly hit you up for more $$ years later!

I had a fairly involved procedure done near the end of 2024, removing a cyst from my jaw (hey, too much HIPAA!) and Dr. Oakley was extraordinarily thorough with the process. I have been back for follow-ups several times, getting X-rays and consultation with Dr. Oakley. He is always thorough, explains everything at my level, and is available for me to contact him should I have any issues. Absolutely top-shelf doc! His staff is friendly and helps to accommodate your schedule, they take most insurance, and they work with you during the entire process. While I hope that you don't have to have an oral surgery procedure, just know that if you do, this is one of the best places you can go in the Kansas City area.

As a result, I did not know what to expect, and I had heard stories about the need for pain medication afterwards. But it could not have gone more smoothly. Dr. Barber, his nurse, and the receptionist in the lobby were very helpful, friendly, and professional. Everything was clearly explained to me in advance. The extraction was done rapidly and efficiently. It is now seven days since the extraction, and I have not even needed to take an Aleve or anything else. The discomfort was minimal. I have total confidence in Dr. Barber. If you read about him on his practice's web site, you will find that he is Board Certified with excellent credentials and experience. If I should ever again need a tooth extracted or any other kind of oral surgery, I will most certainly choose Dr. Barber.

I had filled out the online forms noting I had anxieties and needed anesthesia. I was asked twice by both an assistant and the Dr. if I had anything to eat or drink prior to arrival both times the answer was no. The photo below shows that Dr. King had attempted to administer an IV for the anesthesia however was informed the vein moved???? Instead without approval they being the team decided to put a Nitrous oxide mask over my nose however, I was not getting relaxed one bit nor was my anxiety dissipating. This was all happening while the Dr. was extracting my tooth. Again without my approval and no way to communicate, they used two rubber straps and strapped my arms down to the armrests of the chair

A couple of weeks after I received the estimate I received a bill. Apparently, this company will file an insurance claim for the cost of an exam when you have them provide an estimate - they cannot provide an estimate without and exam. Not only did I pay out of pocket for the estimate, they also made a claim to my insurance for additional funds. The insurance claim is also money out of my pocket for the future procedure because my policy has a yearly maximum. I can tell you that the other two places I received an estimate did not charge. Needless to say, I'll be having the procedure done elsewhere, will avoid this company in the future and will be sure my dentist knows that they charge for estimates.
