If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. The RailYard is hands down one of the best…read morerestaurants I've ever been to, and it's right here in Bluefield. From the food to the drinks to the service, every single detail is outstanding. On my first visit, I tried the fried green tomatoes, the famous chicken & waffle nachos, and the Bleu Monday burger with sweet potato fries each dish was so good that I found myself planning my return before I even left. Sure enough, the next day I was back and had the ridiculously delicious smoked Gouda shrimp mac, maple bacon Brussels sprouts, fire-roasted tomato soup with grilled cheese, and the chimmied fries. Absolutely phenomenal. The fried green tomatoes have officially become my standard nobody else compares now. The Samurai Jack salad so fresh, flavorful, and unforgettable. The drinks deserve their own spotlight. The Breakfast Club with a Sidecar is a must try, and the Basilto All Flavors series (strawberry, blackberry, blueberry) is out of this world, blueberry was my personal favorite. Creative, refreshing, and perfectly crafted. The RailYard is the kind of place that makes you excited to come back again and again. The vibe is cool, the staff/manager Brad is friendly and attentive, and the food is truly next level. Whether you're a student at Bluefield State or just passing through town, this place is an absolute must. The RailYard sets the bar high for food, drinks, and atmosphere in West Virginia. Worth every single visit and then some.

It was a bit busy so we expected a slight delay on drinks/food, but our server kept checking on us every few minutes and kept our drinks full. The atmosphere/design is very unique and offers great talking points for the table. You can look around and always find something new you haven't seen before. For food, I got the French dip, my husband got the fried catfish, and mom got the smash burger. Food was EXCELLENT. The au jus from the French dip was not overly salty as I've had in the past, and it was the perfect amount for the sandwich. Not like other places that will either give you a big tub of au jus or ever a small saucer cup. After lunch, we walked around as they have a shopping area inside with soaps, handmade pottery/kitchenware, and local vendor products such as hatch chile cream cheese and pickled vegetables. Price was very favorable too and didn't seem to be overly priced where the business/vendor up charges significantly to make a huge profit. Definitely worth stopping by even if you only have time for Togo coffee, a snack, of just to shop around!

Black Salt is a quality spot, and I hope it becomes a Blacksburg institution. I have liked…read moreeverything I've tried, but would say that the standouts are their fries and the fried chicken sandwich. It's a relatively new restaurant that is still finding its footing (the decor and indoor environment are slowly evolving, the menu will grow every now and then, etc.), but the food has always been solid. The pricepoints are probably higher than a lot of college students would prefer to be paying, but still reasonable. The burgers are good, the fried chicken sandwiches are excellent, and the fries are some of the best in town in my opinion. All of the meat is halal, so it's been a great place to visit with my friends who can only eat halal food. Black Salt is owned and operated by the same guy who opened FOAM-O, and he definitely has a clear vision for what he wants it to be. I'm a fan of the place, and think its worth checking out for those who haven't yet!

They don't have too many options on the menu, which is completely okay. I decided to go with a burger, which I found to be tasty, but not worth the relatively high cost. I probably will not be back.
