Stopped in for lunch the other day and what a gem! Very cute restaurant servings sandwiches, specials, and pizza (after 4PM). Service was great, I was immediately seated, and my order taken. I got the chicken tenders and fries with ranch dressing, and it was EXCELLENT. The fries in particular were really good, tasting like fresh homemade fries. The ranch was clearly made in house, will a lot of dill. My friend joined me, he is a vegan, and the server worked with him to get him something he could eat. They have vegetarian pizza, but it wasn't after 4PM so he got a sandwich with a lot of avocado and fresh veggies and took the bacon home for his dog. I gave him my fries, and we ordered the loaded spaghetti side (sauce, cheese, onion) and took that home to my son. What a neat little joint. We walked in right at closing (we didn't know until we were told). But, they welcomed us with open arms. The 2 servers were so flipping sweet. A neighboring table of locals that just wrapped up their meal led us to the bacon cheeseburger and chocolate shake. So, that's what all 3 of us got. And let me tell you - it was all excellent! The Cook (owner?) came out and checked on us as well. I highly recommend this wonderful joint!! read more

This little diner was so cute, very clean, the staff were extremely friendly. The food was SO TASTY. They had some simple, yet creative twists on their menu. I had the pimento grilled cheese with bacon pepper jam & bacon with fresh cut fries..... that was the most delicious sandwich I've ever had. The flavors were incredible. I want to try the Appalachia Burger with fried green tomatoes on it,next time! I would highly recommend trying this restaurant out if you want some classic dishes with a little sweet simple charm added. You WONT be disappointed!!! read more

Ordered breakfast here a few weeks back. The inside looks wonderful, compared to the state it was in prior to the current owners. The service was attentive, and the food was good. Very filling and homemade, as well. They offer a varied menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's a great little spot on Mercer Street and definitely a place to go if you're hungry. If you live In Princeton and you haven't eaten here then you are surely missing out on supporting this small town business! My family is in town visiting from Oklahoma and now we are so excited to look forward to eating here when we come in now! We found our spot and will be eating at their other pizza spot next door for dinner soon. (This place closes and 3, and the pizza place opens at 4pm) My only regret is not taking pictures of the delicious food to convince you some more to try this place! Last time we were here was this past week and usually it's good but it's been going downhill. Omelette was covered in oil like dripping. Had a coffee and orange juice the home fries were just chopped up French fries with no seasoning. We also had a 2 egg breakfast which was okay but poured my coffee and never came back to refill drinks or even bring napkins place only had 4 people in it so it's not like they were busy. It used to be great and the homemade sausage patties were awesome but they've gone away from all of that it seems. read more

Excellent service and great food , parking is not very good if they are busy around lunch time, can park on either side of street and a small parking lot not far away but if you have problems walking it might be difficult, but the food is worth it. read more

Homefries are from a bag... small(!) little squares of tasteless, hard potatoe(?). They are most likely from a frozen bag. Suggest that real home fries are different...better...from real potatoes cut up with added onion and seasoning. Don't call them home fries if they aren'. On another occasion I ordered a burger... which was great. a good size and tasty. The fries were a disappointment as they were soggy, dripping oil and inedible.. Alas.... considering the moderate pricing -they could do better. The service was good and almost too attentive. I didn't need to be asked if all was ok about ten times during the meal.... which was quite late in getting to the table. Not a fan overall. read more

Very nostalgic on the outside, clean and modern on the inside. I ordered the potato soup with a side of pasta salad. Soup arrived lukewarm (cheese on top wouldn't even melt). Served with no crackers. but I will say the flavor was good. Pasta salad very creamy but was served in paper container that soaked through to the bare table. I ordered water and was charged 50¢ for TAP water!!!! Not bottled water... TAP water!!!! Service lacked a lot probably should do some training. I went there because in the '60's I used to go there with my husband on dates. Tried it once won't be back. But I wish them all the best for success. read more

Good? No, this place is amazing. The food is 10/10. Good Portions and worth the money. The Service was excellent. Always there and checking in on me. The theme of the place reminds me a lot of bobs burgers. How it seems like Jimmie wanted a specific vibe, but his significant other had other plans. It's the best of both worlds. Love this place. Jimmie's Restaurant is an over 50-year-old soda shoppe still alive in Princeton, WV. If you are expecting a clean restaurant with good service, you're not going to get it. If you like new experiences, eating here will provide just that. A local family, the Mosaries, own this restaurant. Unfortunately the restaurant is frequented by riff-raff because of the location on Mercer Street--I don't care. Their potatoes "french fries" are hand-cut and the best in the world. You can't go wrong for breakfast or lunch. The sausage and bacon is outstanding at Jimmie's. They serve everything with thick sliced tomatoes...LOVE it. Their hamburgers are fresh and hand-pattied. I suggest everyone get off of their high-horses and try Jimmie's! read more
