I've been going to this Shaws for all the 11 years I've been living here. I've always found solace getting lost in the isles. Lately, there have been many teenage hires. In my old age, I have began to appreciate the youth of the community, especially Robert, he is a gift to this establishment. Despite the otherwise perfect staff, there is a little blond cashier, the one with the Timothée Chalamet King Arthur special, cracked a "Kirk joke" last Thursday, which I found HIGHLY DISRESPECTFUL, as a proud MAGAt myself. The man in the pharmacy today was very nice and professional. This was a stark difference to all the other times I have come recently where there has been a very angry lady behind the counter that is rude to every guest. Glad to see the pharmacy customer experience is being improved. read more

Super nice store for all household needs . We went on a trip to ludlow and this shop was a savior ! They had almost all daily needs , beers, wine etc. they had some good offers - we picked buy one get one free ice cream / cakes etc. huge shop with so many options . Service and billing could be better . Parking is huge too. Lots of parking spots . Vegetables and fruits were fresh . Good buys: they also had prepared food . Tasted ok . Bakery was a plus . Wow. Didn't have access to a vehicle and needed help trying to prepay for a prescription a family member was picking up. Shaw's pharmacy said they couldn't help over the phone, didn't know how to use their own website, and denied transferring me to someone who could help me. Horrible customer service. read more

If I could give this Shaw's a -1874 stars, I would; and that would be generous. I had a rain check from the West Lebanon, NH Shaw's that was not honored here. What? They don't do rain checks or refunds from other Shaw's. Ludlow, VT is in the middle of nowhere but being a Shaw's, I expected the typically consistent service and products one gets from all Shaw's. Not this one. Clearly, being part of a chain means nothing. The young woman I spoke with was apologetic and understood my frustration. Apparently, I'm not the first to experience this wild inconvenience. It is abundantly clear I will not be the last. Shaw's is part of a huge group of supermarket stores; Albertson's, Von's, Pavillions, Jewel-Osco, to name a few. I will continue to shop at those other ones but am done with Shaw's. There's not one unique or special item I need from Shaw's that cannot be found at any other large supermarket. To make it worse, the store is so crowded! There's too much stuff packed too closely together. There was a prominent display of matchbox cars. of course, I go to the supermarket to buy matchbox cars. During the ski season, my guess is this is the only game in town. Pity. We're done. See ya. read more

They have chairs and a smoking receptacle set up directly outside of the main entry doors so it's a bit unpleasant to have to walk through the loiterers and the smoke clouds. read more

This seriously got on my nerves. After we made our purchases, 3 of us went to the car to warm up and wait for the last person. Then, I'm forced to go back into the store to show my ID for an adult beverage I wasn't even buying! Both of us are of legal age and complied, but this was totally unnecessary. You want me to drag the other two people in the back seat, who are also over 21, into the store in -2 degree weather? This makes no sense. Even state law doesn't require it -- we weren't even involved in the purchase! read more

I do all the grocery shopping for my family, so I have been to numerous grocery stores. We were in Ludlow for several days and needed to get groceries for breakfast, lunches and dinner. The store has everything one would need for a day, a week or a longer stay. The produce and vegetables were fresh and plentiful, the deli although out of a few items had enough to cover all of our needs. The store aisles are narrow and can get crowded, but that said they had everything we needed and more. You can tell that they, like everyone is dealing with the labor situation but everyone we dealt with was pleasant and personable. I have been going to this grocery store for the past two years and now the one day that I arrive 10 minutes prior to closure the "" manager told me you better hurry up this is the most disgusting thing I have ever heard after spending three hours speeding to get to Vermont to have the ability to get two items from the grocery store for the morning I know you have made a lot of changes in terms of cosmetic appearance in the past six months but none of that has translated to the customer service and customer experience this grocery store is the absolute biggest joke I have ever experienced I would highly recommend going either all the way to Rutland or going to Singleton's General store where you can get everything you can get at Shaws with significantly better service read more

The store is okay. There is a guy cashier who is nice go to Him. The kid behind the deli counter needs help. Deb the cashier is horrible. She showed up to work 40 mins late. They only had 1 register open The line was down the aisle They announced their debit credit machine was down and my girlfriend had to go across the street for cash. Deb said that's technology and I said that doesn't make up for being late. Deb said yes I was late then proceeded to call me babes under her breath u see the mask. FOR MY MELANATED PEOPLE WHO LOVE TO TRAVEL BEWARE OF SHAWS IN LUDLOW. ZERO STARS IF I COULD. My family and I returned to VT for our annual vacation. Our last experience at Shaws was mediocre, but not horrible. This experience showed us that we are not welcomed. Shaws is the supermarket closest to us and we went to grab a few items we missed for a meal. One being a practical store bought margarita we fell in the love with the last time we were here. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to find it at home. We were cashed out by a young lady who looked no more than 19 years old with assistance from a manager who seems over 50. All four of us above the age of 26 years old were told that we were ALL required to present our ID to purchase ONE bottle of margarita. Unfortunately, 1 of 4 forgot her ID and we were declined the purchase because the cashier felt uncomfortable. During this time the manager didn't look at us. The last time we were here the policy was not based on the cashier's level of comfort. The person buying the alcohol presents their ID. We were so discouraged we didn't bother to stop at the wine and spirit to avoid further discrimination and disappointment. I hope that we never forget an item for our meal our crave something we can only find in Ludlow. Clearly melanated people are not treated fairly at Shaws. read more

Came here during a mini getaway in Vermont. There are fresh fruits and vegetables and a really nice selection of ice cream. Its right across the street from OKEMO skiing resort and you will see alot of people in ski clothes and tourists. The prices are reasonable compared to what I pay in NYC I appreciated that they are able to give you cash back (up to $200) because i cannot locate a chain bank anywhere read more

I have never met a friendly employee here in all my many visits. Personally, I blame the management, as they obviously do not train their employees in the basics of customer service. On top of that, I hear them complaining to one another ALL THE TIME. The grocery selection is not all that great either. I guess you have limited options around here, but for me? Not the biggest Shaw's I've seen, but big enough for a small town -- Living in a suburb, we are used to many departments within our grocery store. This Shaw's did not have a Bakery Shop, so just beware. But they did have a very small section of bakery items which were 'shipped in'... Produce section was large Frozen & Dairy Departments were sufficient. The store was a little outdated but like most of you reading this only come here during the winter skying season, who really cares..since you are in the middle of nowhere. You'll find what you're looking for and don't forget to sign up at the Customer Service Desk for your "Shaws Key"...to save a few extra pennies!!! read more

Most convenient location for Okemo skiers. This branch of Shaw's is well stocked, clean and the lines aren't crazy. It also isn't depressing like the one in Springfield. There is a wide selection of local beer and also a big wine aisle. Located next to a drug store too. read more

Shaw's reminds me of the old run down Food Lion's, where you can find absolutely everything you need! Everything is so easy to navigate to and find, and the produce looked fresh, and the prices were just right. Plus they sell booze in the refrigerated aisle, I mean you don't see that in Baltimore.. like EVER. So I thought it was pretty centurally located and perfect. Great selection given the limited size and small town location. We loaded up on food for the weekend ski trip and were able to find everything at a reasonable rate. A good stop to shop for fresh groceries, located near a small town in the Okemo mountain area. We bought a few snacks and soda for our room. The supermarket also carries wine and beer. I liked that we got the specials on the items even though we weren't members and didn't have the shopping card. The wait to check out was a bit slow, but not a big deal. read more

Amazing service with very helpful assistants. Aisles are a bit narrow though causing a bit of shopping traffic.

The magnetic strip on my credit card was damaged, so my number had to be entered by hand. The manager refused to punch in the numbers, so I had to leave without my groceries, even though I had the means to pay, and wanted to pay for them. I had assumed that customer service was part of a manager's job. I was wrong. Also, their selection of pretty much everything is terrible. read more
