I was doordashing earlier today I had 3 orders I was shopping for and doordash did not assemble them well in the app so it was a bit of a struggle but a very helpful employee Mary Micheal went above and beyond to make sure I found the items needed to shop this store for my customers. The new rearranged Self Checkouts makes ON SENSE! Putting the costumer service at register 1 ( now you wait while regular customers finish their purchases before you can get help! ). The employee cannot see if a customer is having a problem until the light turns red. All this rearrangement will only add to my food costs!!! read more

The store much nicer since they remodeled. Staff is helpful when you can't find something. My main concern about this store is the number of non-service dogs that are in there. No one seems to be restricting them. read more

They have redesigned the whole store, the sushi bar is gone and the organic section is no longer standalone. all organic and non organic is all mixed together so now it takes twice as long to get your shopping done, versus 15 minutes before this new ridiculous redesign. I don't understand why it was changed this way, it worked perfectly before. They have also gotten rid of a lot of name brand foods I was purchasing and have replaced them with their own brand, about 70% of the store is hannahford's own generic brand and that's disappointing to not be able to purchase things I've used for decades. Never mind the junkies hanging around and drug dealers in the parking lot banging on your windows harassing customers for money. This placed has become the central hub of drug deals and junkies walking around the parking lot, because they stay at the hotel across the street(thank-you-Covid) Until I see a police Force patrolling, I do not feel Safe shopping here. I really hope management will read this and be proactive and get some Police out there patrolling , rutland in general is frightening and full of crime and junkies walking around everywhere. read more

Hannaford was the only decent food store we had in Rutland and now they have completely screwed it up with months of redesign. It is a total mess in the store now with people wondering around lost FOR MONTHS! Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere until it's finished! If there was a zero stars I would use that rating. read more

I have been working for Hannaford Supermarket in Rutland VT for a little over two years. I'm not able to say anything bad about the store because the leadership takes everything seriously, in every area. We are constantly having meetings and watching films. In trying to make our customers shopping experience discussing product control and how to interact with our customers, bringing something to thier day. Hannaford is a pleasant place to work and shop because everyone gets along and have high spirits. I enjoy my job and looking forward to our customers satisfaction. read more

Ya'll are simply the best, such a nice experience in this store. Associates are friendly and willing to show you to items you couldn't find. Hannaford keeps unique policies for customer service and satisfaction which sets them aside from so many other grocers. Hannaford seems dedicated to its associates as well with a diverse group of talented people who work together. I appreciate that their pricing is not based on some tomfoolery like discount cards, rather, offering a great selection at fair prices which don't require remembering another club card. Happy to be a member of a grocery store I don't need to be a member at to appreciate. read more

Why can't we get a Hannaford like this in Eastern NY? This is among the best - if not the best - Hannaford I have as yet visited. It's just huge, and it also has an indoor entrance to the an adjacent Vermont Liquor store... because you do need to pair your meal with the right beverage. What impressed me the most was the exceptionally large produce area, with the deli and fish sections nearby, and of course a generous supply of cheeses from Vermont's own Cabot. This store had the largest salad bar among any that I have seen at a Hannaford, and the olive bar was even larger. Just about every register was open, and the cashiers were quite friendly and chatty beyond "Hi, how are you?" and "Did you find everything ok?" This store gets it right. read more

This is an awesome Hannafords. First off its huge inside & literally has everything you could imagine. It also had a lounge/cafe area to sit and eat food in like some Whole Foods have although I thought it was nicer. It had bistro tables, arm chairs & a TV. It also has a VT liquor store inside it which is cool because I can buy beer or wine in Hannafords itself or I can buy hard stuff in the VT liquor store. They also have a ton of parking & plenty of check out counters open so you can get in and out quickly. read more

Hannafords is a clean, trendy, yuppish and more expensive grocery store which has the same offerings as the Price Chopper downtown which caters to the middle class/working class/poor in the area. We call it the land of the BMW's and Mercedes (not to leave out Volvo).....because the parking lot is full of them. I find both stores to have the same offerings although Hannaford's is slightly, only slightly cleaner than their competitor. I personally don't shop at Hannaford's because of their pricing is higher and I use the money I save for our family vacations, but of course everyone's priorities are different.. read more

Not going to lie, it's either here or Price Chopper and I've been told to avoid that area on the 1st and the 15th because the people who collect welfare checks like to bum around there. So by default I'm going to shop at Hannaford. There's a great salad bar and fried bar on the weekdays as well as a sushi area. If you're into the organic stuff they have that too. It's more of an upscale grocery store in the Rutland, VT area. Reminds me of a Whole Foods (Lite) supermarket. read more

When I was camping in Vermont last year, the Rutland Hannaford was great. Their shelves were stocked and clean and they had a great seafood department with a wide selection. I was very impressed with this store. This year, I stopped there to get some food for a one-day fishing trip. The seafood department no longer had a decent selection, the shelves were often messy and certain products were just not stocked. The larger problem with this store is it's very crowded. It takes much longer to get through this store and through the checkout at this store than it does in other supermarkets. Next time I'm up that way, I'll be visiting the Rutland Price Chopper, which was also a good store. read more

Sadly, the quality of produce available had declined. I went grocery shopping on Monday and bought prepackaged pineapple and 2 red grapefruits. By Thursday the grapefruit was growing mold and the pineapple had fermented. I also bought a package of outshine coconut popsicles, and when I opened the box and took one out to eat it was clear they had melted and then re-froze all misshapen inside the plastic packaging. These are expensive will be getting returned. read more

A quality grocery store that we frequented while staying in Rutland on business for a week. A good selection of anything you might want and a natural foods section and a liquor store as well.. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back when in the area. read more

Love this supermarket. Deli, sushi bar and bakery are great. Reasonably priced groceries and household and everyday items. Convenient liquor store in the store as well. Checkout lines are always long so I almost always use self checkout registers, although the one time I went into a manned cashier line, I got a great tip on where to get really good BBQ & brisket place in Rutland! read more

Oh I love Hannafords! I'm there multiple times a week some weeks. Everything is easy to find. The customer service is wonderful. The prices are fair. The product made by Hannaford is always great. I 100% recommend Hannaford all day every day. read more

I've been a pretty satisfied customer since Hannaford's first came to town. That is until the last 6-8 months or so. It was little things at first - Knorrs dried veggie soup mix - try to find it amoung the other dried soup mix - not happening. Where is it? -- the produce area ??? Minute Maid frozen lemon juice not aide, juice ? - taken out of stock-the area has been reduced to fill the frozen section with more trans fat , caloric garbage. Now the biggie - the produce area has just gone rotten. I mean it! Rotten. Bought a bag of on sale Maine white potatoes - half the bag was rotten in less than a week, I bought 6 lemons 2 days ago - 2 were either frozen or something-they are now in my compost hole. The produce area has gone south - I really loved it - I am so disappointed. These are examples - it seems there is something every week with my produce purchases. Are you overstocking? Staff changes? Inadequate training? What gives? I'd like feed back from Hannafords but I can't find an email - I was routed to Twit-waste of time or Face-are you kidding - I have better things to do -this is what I was going to write privately. Produce is way over priced to feed your family a healthy meal then to have rotten, inadequately handled produce brought home just burns me. Be warned: at least some (and perhaps all) of the Hannaford brand dairy products are made with milk from cows treated with the artificial growth hormone rbst. I called to inquire 2 days ago and got a call back from them today. Google it and get educated about rbst. It is banned in Europe. I know I don't want to feed my kids that and will be opting for other dairy brands that commit to not using it! Hannaford should do better! read more

i have herd it was a better store to shop at. i stayed at the days inn acroos the street and was told about the store had a great selection of wine and spirits. they had two big rows for wine. i was in heaven lol. but besides that it was a very clean place the employee's were on hand in every department which was great. when i went to pay for my items there was plenty of lanes to choose from and pay. i did pick a item that was not scanning or something silly but they had this splendid person. i can't remeber there names but it was a morning shift read more
