This owner was using the workers of LaCorte Landscaping to do his lawn maintenance contracts without the owners permission or knowledge. When I approached the workers sitting in a LaCorte landscape truck, I asked for the contact number for the owner of LaCorte. THEY did not give me LaCorte. They gave me Bertin Palacios number instead. They then proceeded to come to my house in a LaCorte maintenance vehicle, used the employees of LaCorte , did his businesses maintenance agreements on someone else's payroll time, and collected the check addressed to him for nearly two years. Recently the workers (who were really working for LaCorte but said Palacios was their supervisor) during normal business hours, refused to provide professional service as agreed to at time of contract. They mowed the lawn, refused to blow leaves off the entire property. Did 2/3 of property left rest looking shabby. Tried to say the leaves that had NOT been cleaned for weeks was due to a storm. That was totally false! When I complained to Palacios he showed up himself in a truck that did not say LaCorte but said Palacios. He became argumentative and problematic. I terminated his services. I was suspicious and called the number prior to making a public complaint against the truck that was showing up to my home. Only to find out that the real owner of the LaCorte business DID NOT know that this is what his workers were doing during his business hours...referring all his customers to Palacios (a different business) and using his equipment for lawn maintenance contracts without his permission. On top of that doing an incomplete job with the customer. Crooked!

Steve came by to assess several hours after we requested and was able to schedule removal for the next day, astonishingly. We did not see indemnification language in his form proposal (agreement), but were able to have him add us as additional insureds -- and he volunteered to add all adjoining neighbors as well. His policy limits are adequate. And he affirmatively reached out to the school across the street from us to notice them about the large trucks and noise associated with tree removal. It was a huge job, but he and his team were able to complete the work in a single day. Other contractors had told us it would take two days. He and his team were clearly experts at rope work and took down branches without causing damage to the pergola or patio below the tree. They did have to take out our beautiful smaller tree adjoining the large, leaning tree, sadly. This kind of work is expensive -- heart-attack-inducing expensive -- but based on the quotes we received, Steve's pricing is not unreasonable. Very professional company and team, very responsive to questions. We would not hesitate to recommend Steve to anyone who finds themselves in the same unfortunate situation we were in!

Mr. Humberto and his family are some of the hardest working people you will ever meet. They show up early and don't stop working till the job is done. I called them because, some tasks are not do it yourself stuff. I have an acre full of trees and some are more than 50 feet tall minimum. Over the past two years he has removed over 16 very large trees from my property, including completely grinding the stumps, trimming large tree branches, cutting down dead tree trunks and even cleared some evasive thorn bushes that were destroying my lawn. After they finished, they removed all the waste from my property, filled in the holes with dirt and did a fantastic clean up job. Amazingly every time they finished, all in one day. Before I called H&G, I shopped around for quotes and found out that Mr. Humberto had best the prices and was fully insured. I highly recommend them. These folks are so kind, generous, community minded, and good humans. We have a building in the…read moreBronx that needs what seems like an endless supply of wood chips for our frontage. They have a space across the Bronx from us where we can get all the chips we need and more, and they've been so generous about letting us have at it. Our neighbors also needed wood chips and have a space their trucks can be driven up on, and so they were able to arrange 2 full truck loads of wood chips delivered. Really, I can't recommend them enough. They are always so willing to bend over backwards to help out and get jobs done, and I've seen sites they've cleaned up, and the work is so clean and professional. You'll do yourself a favor hiring them.
