I live in the Lakewood area and I've had many different experiences with many different stylist's and salon's... Never had a good outcome. I saw Katie Spooner and her work on Facebook messaged her requesting an appointment. She got back to me within an hour and scheduled me. I had a different idea for my hair but, after a few days of Katie looking at my hair came up with the perfect cut, color, highlights, and style. Everyone was so friendly. I enjoyed my glass of wine courtesy of Katie and the salon. After about 2 hours Katie turned me around to see my hair and I couldn't believe it was me. She did an amazing job and she's definitely my only stylist in the future. My hair was unhealthy and now it's gorgeous. She has made me feel more confident and like a new me. I've only received positive feedback from everyone I know. I'm truly grateful to Shear Artistry and Katie Spooner for taking care of me as her last client on a Friday. Finding a new hair stylist is a tough task after moving, especially if you don't have friends that can refer you. Consider me your friend that is giving you this referral! After a really long day at work I went to get my hair done by Katie and it was just the best experience! I had a hard time explaining what I wanted done but she confidently put my idea together, gave me a glass of wine, and let me sit back and relax while she did her magic. I can't believe how soft, gorgeous, and stunning my hair is! I did a black to red color melt (I didn't even know what that was or that I wanted it, Katie is just a natural at putting the picture in your head of what you want, into reality) and the colors are BEAUTIFUL. Also, my hair somehow appears longer after being trimmed?! She's amazing. Do yourself a favor and let her pamper you while giving you the best hair color, cut, style or combo. I highly recommend Shear Artistry Salon. Torrie, the owner, did a great job cutting my naturally curly hair. I had moved to the area last year and had not yet found a stylist that I was happy with. I have been through 3 or 4 salons trying to find a stylist who could shape up my naturally curly hair to my satisfaction. I am an easy maintenance kind of woman, and usually let my hair air dry or dry it with a diffuser. That definitely requires a good haircut! Katie Spooner is wonderful! She got me in within hours of asking for emergency help! After not one but TWO bad cuts she was able to take what looked like 3 different haircuts and blend blend blend. She turned my "hair shelf" into something wearable. She did this all with a smile on her face and encouraged me that it would all be ok. Katie did the unbelievable with no notice. Everyone knows trying a new stylist can be a very scary experience! But fear not, Torrie is great! She is an excellent listener, and offers great professional feedback, considering your hair texture and condition, offering tidbits of education on basic hair care and prevention of damage. I am more than happy with the cut and color I received! I was offered a beverage and friendly welcome upon walking in and immediately felt comfortable. I moved to the beaches area 6 months ago and I have been traveling back to central FL to have my hair cut and colored. Well that has now changed. I went to Shear Artistry today and had a wonderful experience.Torrie took her time getting to know me and my hair. Torrie is amazing. I made my first appointment with her almost four years ago after reading customer reviews and have been thanking the "Yelp gods" ever since. My hair is fine, painfully straight and unruly, but Torrie handles it flawlessly. I've worn it in various versions of a long and layered shag, but recently opted for a chin-length reverse bob. Torrie is Amazing I had a bad hair cut a year ago and she has worked on getting it where I would love it again. It has been cut too short and jagged so it took some time but she did it. Being military and relatively new to Jacksonville beach I found shear artistry after a few other failed attempts at trying to find a great hair salon and amazing stylist.
