This is the first negative review I have written in my 70 years. I like to leave positive reviews, but this one, I couldn't hold back This Salon was my first time, and it will certainly be my last. When I first walked in, you would think for a first time client Personalities, would be pleasantly happy NOT! The worst personalities ever...that needed skills on charm and Pleasantville on how to work with people... The Salon looked tired and needed a good cleaning. The salon could use a bit of updating...probably starting with my hairstylist, that's for sure.... The worst Hairstylist I have ever had Let me start with this!!! She asked me what kind of hairstyle I was looking for. I told her I wanted a few inches off and maybe a bob to the shoulders, stylish with layers on the side of my face. She said, "Oh No! That would take forever to blow dry on you, and that's not in style." WHAT! The last time I looked, It was very stylish on me, and my kids loved it. I should've spoken up, and I didn't!!! Then she said...Stop talking while I am cutting the back of your hair... all these years, no hairstylist has said that to me. The professional ones I know can multi-task while cutting hair; they can hold one of the best conversations and keep the hair on the floor all at once. Then she said I was finished, how do you like it!!! I said WHAT! she never asked me what side I part or wear my hair on... She blew and dried it out, not a curl under a brush, but nothing! That's it: NO finishing products in my hair like mousse or lifting spray, not even a touch of hair spray. Are you kidding me...I felt like asking her if the salon charges hairstylists for using products on clients $$$ Or is this hairstylist too lazy and wants the next customer!!! But the best part was When I arrived home, I was very itchy I opened my blouse, and it was full of hair, and the inside of my bra had more hair in it than the salon floor did Unfortunately, my experience with this hairstylist wasn't pleasant. I am visiting my boyfriend's family from California and was nervous about getting my hair cut from anyone other than my usual stylist back home, but luckily I found Shear Creations! Skylar did my hair and she did INCREDIBLE! She was so lovely to spend time with and I felt that she truly listened to my requests. I had an appointment last week at Shear Creations in Plymouth Mass. When I walked in I was a little hesitant due to the fact the salon did not super clean. While I was waiting there were stylists yelling loudly at each other, regarding customers cancelling their appointments. When I sat down with my stylist Teresa, I explained I would be making an appointment at a later date for a color and highlights. However, I let her know that today would only be a wet cut due to the fact I had a scheduled appointment following my cut. When my cut was complered, I got to the register and the reception yelled over, "Teresa, same price?". I was absolutely astonished! She answered, "yes". I was charged $53.00 for a wet cut! I tipped her 18 percent. Simply because I was taught to tip for the work that has been done. Needless to sa, I feel totally taken advantage of. When I called and explained my though, I wasn't looking for money back, it appeared there was nothing for them to say other than, "prices have gone up". i can only imagine what I would have been charged if she blew my hair out! I hadn't had my hair done in many months and it was a hot mess. Karen did an excellent job with my highlights/lowlights, cut, and style. She even suggested ways to keep my frizzy and brittle hair healthy. And she stayed well after closing to make sure my hair was perfectly fabulous. Moved to Plymouth from Connecticut last fall 2021. Needed to find a new everything ie., doctors, cable provider, insurance, everything. Did some research and read the good reviews for Shear Creations. Luckily a gal named Ali was free so I set up an appointment. She came up with a plan to help me go from my dark brown colored hair to soft blond that lets my grey hair blend beautifully so I don't get any lines after two weeks. Now I can go much longer between appointments. Just last night a woman came over to me and told me that I have beautiful hair. And I'm 74. I have to say that I trust Ali and I've seen some wonderful before and after ladies walk out the door from all the stylists. I found Terry way back in my early 30's when a coworker said "I think you should think about getting your white hair covered" She meant well, so someone, I don't remember who said Terry is a great colorist, she works at the place at the mall. So off I went, newly married no children. While I was there Terry's husband and very young son, came to visit her and bring her dinner, I was impressed, plus my hair came out great. Now I am in my fifties, hair would be all white without my girl Terry. I followed her to her new place and am so proud that she eventually bought the place. I read the previous reviews of Shear Creations on Yelp and, based upon those, made an appointment with Anna. My experience was wonderful. Beyond a sparkling personality, Anna is a very competent professional. I loved the laidback atmosphere and the sense of humor among the staff. To top it off, I realized that the way Anna cut my hair was an improvement over the style I had been wearing all those years without much of a deviation from what it had been. Wow where to begin about my experience at shear Creations! On June 20th i had a wedding in Plymouth,i found Shear creations online and decided to try them out..and it was worth every penny and time! I did my make up with Nicole..AMAZING makeup artist,she will make you so comfortable,will be honest,and most important will do your makeup on perfection,literally!!I decided that from now on she will be the one who will always do my makeup,no matter if i have to go to her or pay her to come to me. Next,i did my hair with Ana...she was on time and she was fast,i don't think anyone has done my hair that fast ever!! On my own fault i schedule my appointment with them at 2.pm with Nicole and 3.pm with Ana,end up being too late considering that the shuttle from the hotel to where the wedding was going to be was leaving at 4.pm..yes at 4.pm!!!Kristy (i called her my angel,cause literally she saved me big time) called a cab so i could make it to the hotel on time,cabs were all taken although we called 40 mins before to schedule they were just too busy.She cancelled with them and drove me to the hotel!!I mean,as much as a good person you are,who does that?If i'm at work,i can't just leave...but she did!! I mean these people at this place were all friendly and happy all the time..it made me feel at home!!This place is absolutely AMAZING!!Sometimes it's hard to get out of where you so use to go..or in my case i didn't had any other choice cause i don't live there and i really needed someone to do my hair ans makeup...but seriously this place is worth the try,and i can assure you,at least with the people i had experience with,you will not regret it...i can almost assure you,you will do the same and will want them to move next to you!! I've been going to this salon for manny years with my mother. I have coarse thick curly hair, very healthy long to the middle of my back, HEALTHY hair. I decided that I was going to get my hair chemically straightened i researched it and it was not supposed to be very damaging to your hair if it was healthy. I got my treatment done with colette, a very nice bubbly girl. After about 3 days I noticed my hair was falling out, i called they told me it was normal and not to worry. A week later i was having bald spots, and 2 weeks later I had lost a good 6 inches of hair. Now almost a year later my hair has barely grown.
