My first appt was actually terrible. The end result was fine, but the fact that a cut, color and highlights lasted over 6 hours was a nightmare (I wasnt asking for anything crazy, nor was my hair very long). In fact, my husband still asks if Ill be home within a reasonable amount of time each time I go. After that first appointment, I actually didn't go back for a while until I couldnt get in to my other salon. I mainly come here for the convenience, as I live within walking distance. The salon itself is always nice and clean. As mentioned my other reviewers, it's a Korean salon with a largely Korean clientele. You are given what is similar to a breastfeeding pillow to put in your lap, and offered water, coffee or tea plus a couple pieces of chocolate. My other issue is that the hair washing station tends to have water that runs on the cooler side (and that not all stylists give a scalp massage either, which is my favorite part of getting my hair done!) The price is a little on the higher end. I paid $285 for a cut and all over color for shoulder length hair. (Still haven't had the guts to try highlights again). Free street parking available, if not right on Kingsway, you'll be able to find a spot on the side streets, otherwise the bus stop for the 19 is right outside.

Making an appointment is so easy, since she always answers the phone by the third ring. When I arrived at the salon, she greeted me warmly with a smile and she was ready to begin her services on my hair. She was very informative. Explained in full what she was going to do step by step. Answered all of my questions happily and is really great to talk with. She is very kind and has fantastic manners. My hair has never looked better. She got my entire long(26") head of hair to a beautiful blue black, jet black. (From another hair stylists poor job of blotchy black, brown-black.) She dyed my eyebrows jet black with a special dye. There was absolutely no mess around my forehead, ears, nape of neck, or eyebrows. I asked for a deep conditioning treatment she applied that and massaged it into my head/hair. I always opt for air dry because my hair drys beautifully without any heat. She sprayed my hair with leave in conditioner and gave me a brand new black detangling brush, that she took out of the package to detangle my hair with. Near the beginning she had asked me if I like black. I said yup. I Wasn't sure if she was referring to my black hair or my nails that had just been shellaced black. But I think it was actually for the brush, she is very thoughtful. So for all of my services it cost me $118. $85 for full long hair color $25 for leave in treatment $6 for dying eyebrows + tip Her services are absolutely fantastic, and I will 150% be going back. The walls, decor are all filled with nerd culture within our generation. On top of that, they have a stack of comic books where magazines are usually placed. With COVID-19 you must have an appointment to enter the hair salon. No walk-ins. I arrived 5 minutes early and checked in. Mine-san was my hair stylist and she was friendly and professional. I only needed a slight trim for my hair and bangs plus thinning. She washed my hair (such an enjoyable experience) and finished the trim in 45 minutes. The total came to around $60 (incl tips). Other japanese salons charge around similar prices for ladies haircut WITHOUT shampooing, this salon includes shampooing in the price. The salon is a humble place it's not upscale or lux. But for my experience it's one of the good ones. Also really close to skytrain station.
