I'm really disappointed with my recent haircut. Caitlin didn't listen to what I asked for. Completely different, even do I showed her a picture with the style desired .The cut is uneven and poorly blended. It feels rushed and careless. I would go somewhere else to fix it, but guess what ..she cut it way too short. For the price I paid, I expected much better attention to detail. He came home with a NIc on his neck from the shave with cuts which appear the blade was dull for the shave. his side burns were also missing a piece out of one side. Stylist seemed knowledgeable and did a great job. I never buy product from a salon but she managed to sell me what she used without trying. I do wish there were non-alcoholic / non-coke drinks available since I can't have alcohol and don't drink sugar-cans. (The fake sugar is even worse so don't say zero/diet). I'd recommend offering something local like Lenny Boy kombucha. I feel like I'm paying extra for everyone else to have a drink. read more

She was super friendly, easy going and did a great job on his haircut. He has straight, blonde hair that shows imperfections easily and she nailed it his first time ever seeing her! My fiancé came here to get his hair cut so I tagged along. They were very welcoming and had specials for new customers which was a plus! They offer complimentary alcoholic drinks. The place has a very modern and inviting look with rustic accents. They have two waiting areas that have pictures of male celebrities to "inspire" style. My right sideburn is super uneven. I noticed right after she messed it up but didn't say anything bc i didn't want to feel awkward but then she avoided saying anything when she saw me noticing it, kind of ridiculous. On top of that I wasn't even offered to look at and approve what was done to the back of my head. The sideburn being sideways and uneven should be simple to do. As well as showin customers the back of their heads after cutting it but i wasn't offered and haven't seen it still. Wasn't even asked if i preferred rounded or squared in the back either... Not only was my stylist trained and talented, but the entire experience was well thought out and customer-focused. The store itself is really nicely decorated. Your can make appointments online, and when you arrive you get your choice of a beverage. A scalp massage is a nice touch. What really sold me? Well, I have some really "weird" cow licks and my stylist saw them and immediately knew how to properly cut them so I don't look like Dudley-Do-Right. Highly recommended, gents. read more

My experience was excellent, from the ease of setting up an appointment online, to being greeted at the front desk by name and offered a beverage, and being promptly seated by Amanda. Amanda was great ... asked me how I wanted my hair cut, sought feedback as to how short I wanted the length of my hair and sideburns, and gave me an excellent haircut. The price seems high at first, but getting your hair washed and your scalp massaged after the haircut makes it worth it, especially since you don't have to deal with the little pieces of hair on your shirt for the rest of the day. I would probably say that I've been on a lifelong search for a great haircut. I have moved around quite a bit and will try a place to see if it fits my needs. I usually stick to one place if I like the cut and have a good experience (this has been a struggle). With that said, Shear Excellence exceeded my expectations. I came in on a day off after having seen it while driving by one day. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed with a smile and felt very comfortable. I filled out some information about my self and was introduced to Nikki. Getting a haircut has been stressful at times, as I am not always the best at explaining what I want in a way that I get the results I am looking for (entirely my fault I know). With that said, Nikki listened, I asked her for advice, she politely offered her opinion and proceeded with what was to be the best haircut I have ever received. At first I thought wow she read my mind, this is exactly what I wanted, but then I realized that she did what very few people do nowadays, she actually listened. Others have already commented on the scalp massage and complementary beverages which obviously add to the experience, but to be honest none of that means anything unless you have great customer service to back it up, and this place delivers. Definitely worth the visit for a great cut and amazing experience, and once you leave you'll feel more relaxed and happier than before. The decor is rustic yet contemporary industrial and the place has an open and airy feel. Matt offered me a beverage and I decided to have a Bloody Mary. They also had a couple of different bourbons (1792 has my attention for next time).
