I had, unfortunately, experienced a bad cut, and was referred to elevate by a neighbor for corrective measures. Sarah inspected my hair and the color, she inquired about what products I use as well as any sensitivities or allergies. We discussed the style I wanted. She was very honest and open in saying we weren't going to get there in one cut due to previous cut at another salon. I knew going in it was going to be a process to get the hairstyle that I wanted given the condition of my hair. I was pleasantly surprised at the foot stools to make your dryer time and hair wash more comfortable. From my initial call to the salon through the entire process, everything was pleasant, relaxing, explained thoroughly, and ended well! Each individual has unique hair that responds and behaves in a unique manner . It takes time for a stylist to learn your growth rate of hair and the quirks of your hair. It is literally a process, that requires patience and the building of the relationship. If you're going in for a color, the initial cost, depending on the condition of your hair, may be more because more work and product may be needed. Regular maintenance reduces that issue for most. So, additional costs for extra product was not a problem. I now have the baseline to get my hair where I want it to be. I had a wonderful experience, a very peaceful and relaxing experience. I've been here about 2 times and essentially had great service every time! I have brought my mom and other nieces here. Hannah and Alex are amazing! They do a great job always!! But Today, I brought my nieces who are visiting to get their hair done. As I was getting ready to check out, my son, a one and a half year old, started screaming. The owner of the salon stated, "can they take him outside? He's stressing me out." I'm appalled at what I heard her say and can easily file an ADA claim. Never have I been treated like this. It's very high in price almost $438.00 for short hair cut and whole color then to look down and see they ask for tip really when you were the only one that done my hair. I don't think the price are right on website. I had short hair looking at their prices online and then when you get there is a totally different deal. I have now tried this salon twice and while I have always been happy with the service, 2 things make me hesitant to come back. First, the upselling of products is aggressive and off-putting. And second the pricing is extremely unclear and inflated. Today i got a maintenance trim (i have shoulder length fine/thin hair and the cut took maybe 15 minutes) and a toner. The total was $160. There was no styling or modification of the existing cut, she simply took 1/2 an inch off . I am more than happy to pay service providers fairly, but that price will keep me from coming back. My previous two haircuts (with partial balayage) at my regular salon were $195 each... for a 2.5 hour appointment. So while i was happy with the end result today, the price will keep me from coming back or recommending to others. read more

From the moment you walk in, it's not just a standard salon experience where you sit in the front and wait. They have a coffee and beverage station. And a TABLE where I was able to sit and work while my color set. I've only had color in my hair twice in my 44 years of age. I just got my hair done and it looked nice, but not 340 dollars nice (including tip). Online it said 180, which is why I am very frustrated. When I politely asked the lady checking me how it increased so much she said Alex ( my hair stylist) put in additional products, a double toner, and additional fees that are not included online. I went to Elevate Beauty Lounge completely on a whim on August 7th. My Goddaughter was getting baptized the very next day and I desperately needed a last minute cut and all over color. My once medium brown hair had become completely salt and pepper and my last hair cut was well before the pandemic began. I certainly did not want to entrust a chain with such a challenge since there would be a ridiculous amount of pictures taken the next day to document a sacred sacrament. I wanted a mid to high end salon that specialized in color. I called probably about 7 places prior to Elevate and everyone was completely booked for the day. I was about to give up when I found Elevate on Google. I said to myself that is the last one I'm trying to get in. I was prepared to give up the good fight. I said a little prayer and dialed their number. I was greeted immediately by a friendly and energetic girl on the phone. I asked if there were any openings for a same day appointment. I was preparing to hear the tsk and quick no I got back to back from every other receptionist I just spoke to in the last 20 minutes. She didn't hesitate and asked when did I want to come in. She booked me with Ale for my much needed services after lunch time. As I was driving to the salon a troubling thought entered my mind... What if I only got in on the same day because they are absolutely awful? I pushed the bad thought out of my mind and prayed that it be a great place, experience, stylist and cut. Believe it or not, but I had not found a stylist since I moved to the Charlotte area in 2012. In fact, I think I had around 5 haircuts in nearly a decade of living here because I could not find anyone who was a master colorist or who could cut well and every experience left me deflated and wanting. I am absolutely thrilled to say that Ale KILLED it! She is my go to stylist from here on out! She was very friendly and attentive during our interaction. She asked loads of questions to get some background about me, my hair, my wishes. She listened carefully and really took note of what I was going for. She did a full paint (I think that's what the new fandangoed terminology is) of a rich dark brown/black with just a hint of deep red. My hair color was so lush and luxurious when it was done. She suspected that my grays at the top of my head would act as highlights in a few days and boy was she spot-on. I have gotten SO many compliments on my hair since she did it. It's actually been somewhat awkward for me because I'm not really one for attention or to be guffawed over. My entire family, coworkers, patients (even the ones usually lost in Lala Land), noticed and made mention of my hair. It has softened a bit now, as is to be expected. I did buy the shampoo and conditioner that was recommended to extend my color. Even 10 days later, I still am shocked when I catch myself in the mirror. As for the physical salon, its is super clean, modern and stylish. I LOVE the purple back lights behind the mirrors because well um, PURPLE. Also, those sinks and chairs for hair washing are epic. Zero neck pain! The blow dryers hanging from the ceiling are new for me. I would venture to say it probably makes it easier to navigate around a client for blow outs since they offer the freedom of 360 degrees. I have attached some pics to this review. Please be kind to the before pics and also the no make up ones. I think their prices might be a little higher than some others that I priced, but I do not care. I am willing to pay for great service, hard work and premium products. Be sure to try Elevate definitely request Ale. You WILL NOT be disappointed! On a side note, the only accept cash or Venmo for gratuity. I will say I found that to be a bit odd. However, like I mentioned, I haven't had a real salon experience in a decade so this may be the new norm. read more
