I made an appointment a week ahead of time. Brought our dog in at 9 and didn't pick her up until 3 when she was finally ready. It was a long time to drop our dog off for grooming however, it gave more time to get things done. And our dog has a lot of fur. I'm definitely impressed because this is the first place in a long time where she hasn't been in pain afterwards and at home because our dog does have arthritis in her hips. She was groomed very well and seemed very happy which never happens when I take her to the groomers or bathe her myself. What really makes me think about booking another appointment in the future is the fact that they enjoyed having her and told me how sweet she is. Horrible place. The people that work there are rude and condescending. Once my dog was allowed to get a hair cut they not only did a horrible chop job on him but they also gave him razor burn on his boy parts and chewed up the ends of his ears with the clippers, resulting in me having to take my dog to the vet for medical treatment which cost an upwards of $150. I brought my 1yr old puppy here for a nail trim and anal gland expression since my usual groomers office was closed that day. I'm disappointed since her nails are still pretty long, and it's like her anal glands weren't even done. So im still dealing with the issues i brought her there to have dealt with. I'm pretty upset since it was more expensive, and I feel like I didn't even get the service I paid for. I thought about calling to have them fix the situation, but I just didn't get a great vibe from the person working there. Very rude and poor customer service, and okay job on the grooming. However, poor communication. Made an appointment at 9am, received a text message for 3:40pm. Assuming they had to switch it. I confirmed via text as requested that the appointment time worked. Then received text saying cancel on the day of the appointment. Called in and they argued my appointment was at 9am. I explained the text message said 3:40. They said they go by the book and I should have called in when I got the text changing the time. Honestly, would have rescheduled for different day and wanted to communicate the issue they were having with their scheduling. However, the response was beyond rude!!! I did not curse I didn't saying anything but you have poor customer service. This was my first and last visit. I took my fur baby in hopes that this would be a great grooming place and somewhere he'd be happy going to... Never again and would never recommend it. I received a call stating that my dog "licked" the grooming scissors... and he bled for 45 minutes before calling me , and thought they should call me because he is bleeding again... Shouldn't I have been called when it happened?? His haircut was not the best and his nails were not cut or filed and his paws had blood on them. I went to pick him up immediately and his tongue was cut and was in pain and crying and shaking. I immediately took him to his vet and he had to be put on antibiotics. He cried all night and was scared and bleeding due to the cut on his tongue. Apparently this has happened several times before and one of the workers even said she did it to her own dog. Do not send your fur babies to this place if you truly love them. I wish I never would have. If I had the option to give no stars I would have gave them none. read more

My first encounter at Shear Pawfection was so so. My second encounter was completely awful. I was told my dog's grooming service would take about 4 hours. After 5.5 hours of him being at the groomer, I had not received an update. I called and was told it would be another 30 minutes - 1 hour. He was finally finished 7 hours after dropping him off. I line brush my dog's coat daily so I know matting was not contributing to the time issue. I had some feedback after the first groom for what we would like to see adjusted this time around and there was no updates made to my dog's grooming other than plucking his ear hair which we did not request and specifically instructed not to do as our vet advised against it. My dogs entire belly and genital area was also shaved down COMPLETELY to the point of irritation on his genitals and belly. Overnight and the next morning, we noticed our dog constantly flopping his head, whining, and scratching his ears. I looked in them and there was extreme redness an inch beyond the canal, they were hot to the touch, and swollen. I called the salon to calmly, but assertively tell them about our frustrations as we requested ear plucking not be done per our vet recommendation the first time we brought him to the salon and to request advice since grooming was performed over the weekend and our vet would not be open for another 2 days. They gave very little advice other than advising we wrap a scarf around our dog's ears (you can imagine how long that worked for) and downplayed the seriousness of our situation. They suggested our dog's ears were not infected even though I informed them I work in healthcare and am trained on how to identify infections so I was certain they became infected. There was also no effort made to rectify their wrongdoing. They also had the audacity to suggest what WE can do to make sure something like this doesn't happen again for future grooming appointments made with them as if I am responsible for my dog's contraction of an infection as a result of their services. read more

They squeezed in my dog , at the very last minute, for a much needed nail trim when things were just opening up after the spring covid quarantine. I was having a really difficult time finding a place that groomed cats and my vet recommended Shear Pawfection. I was extremely nervous to have my cat shaved but she had some really bad mats that needed cut out. She had never been groomed before and anyone who has cats knows how crazy they can be in new places. Fun and easy to talk to staff who always does a great job grooming my large dog (and for less money than Petsmart! They have deals on Wednesdays but they fill up their schedule pretty quick on those days so make sure you call ahead for your reservation. Make sure you ask for the "Spa Treatment" a great value for ear cleaning, nails, teeth brushing, wash, condition, and blow-dry (their prices will change based on the size of the dog). After purchasing a Groupon for a $30.00 COMPLETE GROOMING SERVICE, took our Golden Retreiver in and we were charged an additional $15.00 when we went to pick her up! I contacted Groupon and they refunded my money. DO NOT RECOMMEND! My Dog has been very traumatized and clearly in pain in his penis and testicle area. He only takes a few steps before stopping to lick the area. He is a sweet dog, but because of the poor care he was given he was not himself and attacked my other dog. I called almost 20 times and when i got an answer the woman who cut his hair would not admit she messed up even though clearly the dog was damaged. Ego and Negligence are not characteristics for someone that will take good care of your animal. Will not go back and for the love of your animals i hope you don't either. read more

Great service, exceeded my expectations! I boarded my baby there for a week; they took amazing care of her and groomed her right before we picked her up!! She had cute little bows in her hair, smelled great and I could tell she had been treated with care. The employees raved about her and how much they loved having her there! On Monday, September 16, 2019, I took my Standard Poodle puppy to Shear Pawfection in Maineville, Ohio. I was told he would be finished in 3-4 hours. Around hour 4, I called to check on him, and was told that he would take a little longer because he hated the blow dryer, so he was kennel drying and I would receive a phone call when he was finished. When he was done, close to 5 hours later, I went to pick him up and was told he did great, but he peed after his first bath, so they had to give him another one. When I got him in the car, I noticed he was bleeding all over the back seat. I tried to call them multiple times to ask what happened, but their phones went straight to voicemail. When I got home and looked at his paw, I noticed that one paw pad was cut and covered in blood and two of his pads were stuck together with some sort of glue. I immediately took him to the vet. They said they were unsure of how deep his cut was because the groomer had used surgical glue to close the wound. They also had to cut his paw pads apart because it was also the glue that was holding them together. The groomer must have known that they cut him, and they neglected to call me when it happened or tell me when I picked him up. The next day, I went back to the groomer to find out what exactly had happened. I spoke with Debbie, the owner, and she immediately refunded my money and paid for my vet bill, which I appreciated but it still didn't make it right. The groomer that cut Cooper's hair was there as well, and the owner questioned her in front of me. The groomer (Miranda) said that she didn't know what happened and that she didn't see any blood. I asked her how that was possible when he had an adhesive holding his paws together and the vet said that is what was put on the wound. She then changed her story and said she used Quick stop to get him to stop bleeding because she thought she quicked his nail. I again asked her how that was possible because Quick stop doesn't form an adhesive when it is used, and she didn't really have an answer for that. Instead she changed her story again and said that maybe the table cut him. So, which one is it? When questioned further she just said, "I am not going to say anything else, I am done talking". I also had questioned them about whether he was bathed twice because of him peeing or because he was bleeding. Debbie told me she would review the camera footage and call me when she found out what happened because they just fired someone earlier this year who did the same thing. On Wednesday, September 18, 2019, Debbie called me back and said that she watched the film and saw that Miranda used a liquid bandage spray on his nail and she said out loud to someone that she quicked his nail and that can form an adhesive because Miranda sprayed his nail along with the entire paw. Well then why was the "adhesive" only in that one spot on the pad? My questions were not answered about the reason why he was bathed twice, either. They have changed their story multiple times and it just does not add up. I am upset, disappointed and angry. My puppy is five months old, and he is most likely traumatized from his first grooming experience. I am most upset because they did not tell me, and it seemed like they were pushing me out the door when I picked him up before I noticed anything. It was 3:58pm when I called, and they closed at 4:00pm that day. I understand accidents happen, and he is a puppy, so he moves around a lot. But why would I not be informed about this? I do not recommend this place to ANYONE and will never be going back there for any reason. read more

Let me preface that our dog is groomed just fine, nothing wonderful. My problem is their turn around time. Last time we had our small dog there, we were told the standard 4-5 hours. We dropped her off first thing in the morning...it was 13 HOURS!!!! and way past closing before we got her back. Today we delivered the dog at our appointed time, 2:30, and was given the standard 4-5 hours turn around. Then moments before 6pm, they are calling saying "you know we close at 6pm?". I asked why they indicated it would be 4-5 hours before she was done (which would have been 6:30-7:30) - no reply. Uggghhh. Timeliness and service go hand in hand. read more
