We looked at several homes and we finally found a jewel that was tucked back in this beautiful lot on almost an acre in the heart of University Place. To be honest I didn't see the potential that my wife could see, but I loved the lot and I trusted my wife's judgement so we decided to make an offer and the sellers accepted. Now we had to begin the task of finding a contractor. In all we had 6 or 7 contractors look at the scope of our project. As is unfortunately very common among contractors just getting a call back was difficult. That is until we met Ryan and Ken at the Remodeling Expo in Tacoma. They showed up when they said they would for our first walk through appointment. Immediately we felt very confident they were going to be our contractor. Our house turned out amazing. They literally transformed this old 1968 home with walls everywhere, laminate floors and old wall paper into the home of our dreams. They worked really well with my wife and all of her ideas as well as a designer we hired to help put our ideas to paper. Ryan even took my wife's description of her dream front door, drew it out on paper and found a custom door builder to make it. It is the focal point of our home as you first drive up. What makes KBC different from other contractors is their integrity. They show up when they say they are going to and they make things right no matter what. Like with any large project like ours, mistakes are going to happen. When we discovered them, Ryan and Ken were quick to figure out a solution and fix the problem. You might find a contractor that gives a cheaper bid but I can say with confidence after walking through this project that you will get what you pay for. KBC is worth every penny!

We signed our contract with Kingdom Builders in October 2020 and paid just over $10,000 as a…read moredeposit to begin a kitchen remodel project. Shortly after receiving our deposit, representatives from the company made two brief visits to our home. After that, communication abruptly stopped. Phone calls went unanswered, and mail sent to their listed address was returned as undeliverable. We spent well over a year attempting to locate and contact the company regarding our project and deposit. Eventually, with the help of a friend, we discovered the business had moved from its Sumner, WA storefront to a location in Yelm without notifying us as customers. Based on the company's website and branding, we believed they operated as a faith-based or Christian business, which made this experience even more disappointing for our family. We were able to locate a phone number for one of the owners as well as the new business address. Multiple additional messages were left, but again, no response was ever received. A friend in the construction industry assisted us further and uncovered records -- later confirmed with the State of Washington -- showing that between 8/15/2020 and 2/4/2021, the contractor's license was suspended and there was no valid or active bond in place. As a final attempt to resolve the matter, we sent a certified letter, which was returned marked "refused." Additional calls also went unanswered. At this point, we are pursuing legal action to recover our deposit, along with costs associated with certified mailings, time spent attempting to resolve the matter, and legal fees. We provided numerous opportunities for the company to address the situation and make things right, but those efforts were ignored. Based on our experience, we strongly recommend that anyone considering using Kingdom Builders proceed with extreme caution and do thorough research before entering into a contract. I have worked customer service for almost 30 years in home services. The crew doing the work did not have fancy matching uniforms. errors were made during the process, as can happen with any service. From what I saw, the crew worked well together. They behaved and communicated in a professional manner while at my fiancées home. When a problem arose, they jumped on it to resolve it quickly. When I expressed concerns, they were addressed in a professional manner and Chris, Brie, and Matias were always attentive and aimed at providing a positive experience. Chris owned all aspects of the job from start to finish. He took ownership for his crew's performance and made sure I was satisfied with all aspects of the service. He is a small locally owned and operated business owner. His team did a great job and I am very satisfied with the results. I would use their services again without hesitation, and I will actively refer them to friends and family. Jobs do not always go smoothly. For me, it is not about If mistakes are made, it is about the resolution and final product. Standing by your work, taking pride in your team, and doing the right thing seem to be traits in small supply these days. I had trouble getting responses from a number of other contractors on whether they could do a monolith slab for my backyard office/studio project. Ricardo was familiar with the work needed (vapor barrier under 2" insulation, and deep footers to support extra weight, and 1/2 rebar 24" OC). I opted for saw cut contraction joints which turned out pretty good, only a few small chips that'll get filled in with caulk anyway. The slab is 10x15', 10" deep footers with 5" depth in center for $4500. I got a similar quote from others but Ricardo seemed more familiar with mono slabs process. His team was very fast to complete the excavation/framing and was very communicative on measurements and location of things. It took a few days to pour the concrete due to availability of the concrete supplier and weather but it worked out well and the finish was very good, exactly what I was looking for (smooth finish). Highly recommend Ricardo and his team. Will be doing business again.

Their prices weren't the cheapest but they were competitive with the market but their work exceeds expectations. The final result on drywall was phenomenal. I would absolutely contract them again and I've recommended them to multiple people that have all been pleased with the work done for them as well. Sometimes paying a better price upfront really saves you on the tail end. It's worth every penny!

I had a bathroom remodel I was told it would take 3-4 weeks, almost 4 months later, I hired another contractor to complete the job. The tile is poorly set, it is not level, the grout is not flush with the tile. Tile was scratched. Some of the new fixtures are scratched. They received the tile in plenty of time, however failed to check the shipment and when it was time for install found the boxes and tile damaged, another delay. My husband had to fix the barn doors that were installed, while doing so, found several broken screws and numerous drill holes. The cross slates were glued on not nailed, they have been replaced twice by us. Didn't fix a joist in the floor, that was on the job list. Called me and demanded final payment when the job was not finished. (didn't pay completely until finished). It was excuse after excuse.

They can hang a shower door crooked.. but then tell you after the fact that they did it to make it plumb to the shower instead of giving you a heads up before doing it. 2. They fixed a hole in the ceiling. And when you call them on it, they come back to fix it with your own materials. 3. First attempt to reattach molding around a closet door and they break it and call it good. Second attempt to fix they cut it short and claim that it dosen't come that long. But strangely the third attempt it came out fine. 4. I had a complaint that the the mixing valve on the shower wasn't getting hot enough, so they kindly set it to scald (Max). When asked if there was an in between, they said yes but left it at max. 5. They brought a dumpster in for the demo of the bathroom and told us if we wanted to, we could put stuff in there but not to go over the lip of it. But then told us it was saposto be for the demo only and they should have charged us for it. My problem with that was if that's the case, I must have gotten a new garbage disposal and been full of all that fast food garbage that was in there too.. 6. They also wanted to charge us work that was not done. 7. The contract stated 2-piece tub but a one piece showed up, so they had to cut a hole in the side of the house and and left the corner uncovered for a day while it rained. In short, if I hadn't have check the work at all times, I would have gotten suckered.

Professional, prompt, reasonably priced and very competent. Each step went as promised and any concerns that developed along the way were quickly and exceptionally resolved. We had three separate contractors bid the job, and though similar in pricing, it was the personalized touch from Rocky and Theresa that made the difference on our first meeting. Within two days of us contacting them, they came to our home, listened to the issues we were trying to solve and what our goals were, and then provided a scaled design plan for us to envision the final results. The landscaping team, lead by Rojit, began within two weeks of the initial meeting, worked tirelessly every minute of the day. They were respectful to neighbors in where they parked trucks and equipment, cleaned up the worksite every day, and never took a shortcut. Whether it was one guy working or the whole team, each employee worked diligently regardless of whether or not the Rojit was on site, which was really impressive. We could not be happier with our yard. It is more useable, aesthetic, and easier to maintain. We highly recommend Diamond Touch and will use them again without hesitation.
