I'm going to call this visit comical! It started like any ordinary, quick sandwich trip. Except it was not quick. I knew it was going to be entertaining when I first rang up my things at the register, and my sarcasm was lost on the cashier. He had rung up my things and placed them in a bag. It was overfilled as he decided to put the half-gallon jug of tea in the bag with several bags of potato chips. The jug broke a small hole in the bottom of the bag. He saw the hole, pointed it out to me, and asked if I would like it doublebagged. My immediate sarcastic humor- "Nah! I'll wait and see if it breaks and dumps my food on the ground on my own on the way to the car". He said "ok," and handed me the bag... Then I went to wait for the sandwich I had ordered. A full-size wheat ham and cheese sandwich, not toasted. A cold sandwich, along with a bucket of curly fries, because who can resist Sheetz curly fries? I proceeded to silently watch as not one but two people struggled to make my sandwich. Struggle to the point that it took a full 16 minutes start to finish. I have seen my three toddlers make ham and cheese sandwiches at the house, including getting the ingredients out of the fridge, using a butter knife, and making their sandwiches in less time, including wiping up their mess afterwards with a paper towel. I was traveling east on I-87 on my way to Zebulon and needed to stop for a restroom break. A blue highway services sign indicated there was a Sheetz at Exit 4 (New Hope Road), so I exited expecting it to be close to the interchange. However, once I reached the end of the ramp, the sign indicated the Sheetz was 2.5 miles away. That excessively far for a highway services sign implying immediate access from the interchange. It ultimately took approximately 10 minutes to reach the store, and the distance appeared to be closer to 2.8 miles. The site layout is extremely poor. The property appears too constrained for the size and traffic volume of the store and gas station. It is surrounded by large retaining walls, and the gas pump area feels cramped, making it difficult to circulate around the building or access parking efficiently. Signage throughout the site is inadequate, and I was unable to easily locate the disabled parking spaces. Unfortunately, the interior layout is just as problematic. The entrance, checkout, and self-checkout areas are all compressed into a narrow space, creating congestion and forcing customers to maneuver through lines simply to enter or exit the store. The circulation pattern inside the store feels poorly planned and inefficient. The restroom was messy and did not appear to have enough stalls for the amount of customer traffic the location receives. I purchased two bottles of water. The beverage display itself appeared reasonably organized, but because of the confusing layout and lack of clear directional signage, it was unnecessarily difficult to find what I was looking for. This Sheetz has a lot of room for improvement. I go here because of its convenient location. It is not in a great area of town; multiple shootings have occurred there along with one by the sports pub in the same shopping center, followed by another in the mobile home park across the street (south portion of North Rogers Ln.). A Knightdale police officer recently told me to not go there day or night, but I need a station close by. The parking lot/pump area always look like a dump. Pieces of trash are everywhere you look, even up on the hill towards the road. I've complained about this to corporate and nothing happened. It's hot or miss when paper towels or the disposable plastic pump gloves are available. I will say the employees at the register (not in the food prep area) are usually pretty nice. I will push my car on EMPTY and go pass all the other stations until I find a Sheetz. Their loyalty program is so dope! I feel that they offer so much. The food is normally fresh and the flow to get in and out of the door is usually pretty quick... I'm not sure what happened at this location on this particular day. Their was literally one person working the whole establishment and their was a line out the door. The lady did a great job working and keeping her composure so kudos to her! I grabbed a veggie sandwich that literally tore my stomach all to pieces. 3 Stars because overall the Sheetz brand is good but this location let me down on this particular day. read more

Due to the awfulness of their made-to-order fast food, I'm usually not a big Sheetz fan, but this one is where I spent the night when in Raleigh, and it went well. Wifi, outlet, tables, nice employees, perfectly safe despite being in a slightly shady area. I bought drinks of all kinds throughout the night. Nobody ever bothered me. Their wifi worked well. Of course there's the gas too. It's not the cheapest in Raleigh but it's not bad, and there are plenty of clean, new pumps. So all in all, I have no qualms about giving them a 4. read more

This Sheetz use to be my go-to spot for whenever I was bored at the house. I was just chill in the dining room area and enjoy a meal. But now it's gone down hill, way down hill, I can't even get descent order of French fries anymore. I paid $3.57 for a cup of fries, a literal cup, and this is what I get?! That is not what I paid for. Back then they would top it off. I don't if it's required to scale it out, give me what I paid for in return, portion size wise. Who would pay for this. Then when I go to ask for more than this, she gonna gives, check photo 2. Oh, she think she cute. You should have given me a new cup of fries, this time topped off. Instead she wanna half-ass it. Oh, and here the real kicker. She. Didn't. Have. Any. Gloves. On. I saw her pick up the fries with her bare hands, then drop them in the scaler, fry them and then scooped them out and put them in a little bag. And she couldn't fill that up right either! It's always nice when a business does something that benefits the customer. Today I went by this Sheetz on my way out of town. After filling up the car, I went inside and order a $4.00 footlong and two drinks - a bottle of green tea and a cola from a different company. The clerk scanned the green tea twice and didn't scan the cola at all. Now I knew from the shelf tags they were not the same price. When I looked at the receipt the clerk had given me the current special of 2/$2.22 on the green tea brand and saved me $ .74 in my transaction. I appreciate that! read more

This is a gas station with a huge convenience store/coffee shop/sandwich shop. This location is spacious and new, and it actually is quite attractive inside. They have an automated ordering system that is rather cool: you order any of the food and beverage items from a touch screen, take the receipt and pay the cashier, and then pick up your food. There are a wide variety of coffee drinks, hot, cold, and frozen. Most have a low sugar option and a choice of milks (from skim to half and half). I had a low sugar caramel-French vanilla iced latte with skim milk this morning, and it was pretty good. You will do better at the good indie coffee shops around town, but the large drinks here are about $1 cheaper than Starbucks. The sandwiches are made to order, and the ones I've tried aren't bad. The place is reasonably priced and fast. This location has a seating area around the corner from the main mart, so it is quiet. There is also a nice outdoor patio beyond that with plenty of tables with umbrellas. This definitely isn't fine dining, but it was way better than anything I was expecting from a convenience store. The options for decent coffee are extremely limited in the Knightdale area. The gas is reasonably priced, too. It's cheaper than a lot of places I've seen in town. read more

These are normally nice clean gas stations, this one not so much. Not sure if its lack of personnel. The people working here are nice enough but they are not keeping up the outside. Blue paper towels blowing all over the parking lot, beer cans overflowing from the trash can from all the lunchtime construction worker traffic. Beer cans are actually rolling across the parking lot cause the trash is so full, the guys are just leaving their trash on the ground next to it and driving off. This makes the place look dumpy. Also, shows you how many people are drinking and driving during the day cause were talking 10+ trash cans getting loaded with empty beer cans during the lunch crowd. So many so that the empty beer suitcases are also sitting there cause they wont fit. If Raleigh PD did a checkpoint right down New Bern Ave at about 130pm they would take a LOT of people to jail. Better than average food for a gas station. Very large selection of typical gas station chips and candy. Pretty decent coffee and a large selection of beer which includes local stuff. Indoor and outdoor seating to eat at most places. You would think is nice as they are that the gas prices would be higher but they are actually lower than the surrounding gas stations. Sometimes by 5 to 10 cents. The only problems I've ever had there is that they are so popular sometimes all the pumps are full. This is true even at the super size ones which have 20 plus pumps. read more

I frequent this location often and I've been watching it go downhill for a while now. The coffee is almost never fresh anymore and today they actually didn't have any coffee made at 9:30 am on Saturday morning ‍. The cashiers are friendly for the most part bug during the busiest times of the day, there's only one cashier. This was not a great visit to @Sheetz gas station. I stopped here after I had my tires rotated on the way home as I was in desperate need of gas. The pumps are put in at an angle at one island since there is not much room on the other side of the wall, and that makes the traffic flow difficult at this location. I sat there a while at pump 11 waiting for the lady in front of me to finish pumping her gas. She had a tiny car, but it seemed like 10 minutes waiting for her to pump the gas. The amount of time it took, you would have thought she was filling up a semi or a Hummer, but she got less than 10 gallons. What made matters worse was that at least 4 pumps were out of order. When I pulled up and started to pump my gas, I found out why, the pump was just very, very, very slow. I mean after 5 minutes my car was not even close to being full. And I didn't even get 13 gallons. Since there was not a squeegee at the island I was at I had plenty of time to walk around to another island to get a squeegee to clean my windows. It was taking so much time, that I honestly considered stopping mid fill up and just going somewhere else, but since the pump was making a horrible noise, I wasn't sure if it was dispensing the right amount of gas. I wanted to fill it up just to make sure that it didn't say I got 12 gallons when I only got 6. I had to go inside since the pump was out of receipt paper. Since there was a lot of traffic at this location, I decided to be courteous and move my car so somebody else could pull in if needed. When I went inside I told the attendant about the ultra slow pump, it was out of paper, and the horrible noise the pump was making. He said he knew it was ultra slow, but nobody had been out to check the paper in the machines. So I only give 2 stars because a large portion of the pumps were out of order, no receipt tape forcing me to go inside to get the receipt, and horrible maintenance on the pumps. Typically, I love me some Sheetz. Everyone here was SUPER friendly, but I was disappointed with my food. I got the appetizer platter, where my fried pickles were burnt, mozzarella sticks were obviously not fresh (or maybe fried in really old oil?), and my tots were good. I honestly used to love Sheetz, but lately it's just been downhill for them. The service isn't as great. Maybe it's just because of the time of day I went. Also, their donuts aren't labelled, which is a big issue especially since my fiancé has a peanut allergy and they had chocolate glazed donuts that seemed to have a regular cream filling but turned out to be peanut butter! They should have something out indicating that it contains peanut butter because of those with a peanut allergy! That honestly was it for me...no more Sheetz for us. At least not this location. I LOVE Sheetz. I've just discovered them recently. I got my "My Sheetz" card today and am so excited to get to use it. They give you freebies each month and always have sales. You get 3 cents off their already low gas prices. I know this company may put the "mom and pop" stores out of business, but in these times you have to be a smart shopper and get the best prices/bang for your buck. I go to the Sheetz in Knightdale,NC on a regular basis but I just happen to stop at The Sheetz located at 5200 New Bern Ave,Raleigh. NC,27610, Store number 371 on 5/29/20 at 3;35am in the morning at the young lady I encountered at the register was so disrespectful I couldn't believe it. first she saw me standing at the register for 11 minutes didn't even try to acknowledge me as a customer at all so I said excuse me can I pay for my milk here? she drags her self over and rang me up mind you the whole time she sighing and making noises like I was really disturbing her then she just dropped my change on the counter and turned and walked away. I had to get her attention again because where she dropped my change at I couldn't even reach it. Then she shoves it over towards me. No customer skills what so ever. I think people need to be trained better. Once I got outside the guy at the door made a comment "oh she like that all the time, you;ll get use to it. oh no I won't because i'm never going back in that Sheetz again. I'm so glad the Knightdale NC Sheetz employees not like that. They are awesome. With employees like that you will definitely lose customers. read more
