You are required to fill out a waiver, they have a QR code to scan once you get up the ticket booth they will verify that you completed it. They do offer a military discount - however we left everything in the car so we had to go back and fetch that. They give you a ticket, hold on to it as it's your ticket to ride! There were lots of things that could have been told to us while we were in line buying our tickets but instead we had an employee who screamed and yelled while we waited. I hate to say we waited longer than the actual ride took but we did. On that note, if you enjoyed your first ride they will let you go a second time for 1/2 off the price. But we got on the coaster, got buckled in and told to hold on to the handle bars. Given quick instructions (push forward to go, pull back to slow down) and up the mountain we went. During the ride they do take a picture so remember to smile! Was it fun, it was . . . However we need to extend the track and make it a little longer.

Apparently they brought me here as a toddler 30 years ago and thought it would be fun to recreate the memory. I had no idea what it was or I would have never agreed to come here. The animals are kept in small, dirty cages of packed dirt and gravel. No attempt made to recreate their natural habitat or provide any enrichment whatsoever. The two baby bear cubs were the most tragic, following tourists as they walked around their very small circular enclosure, begging for food (that can be purchase from a gum-ball machine and inserted into a chute that goes into the cage.) I asked an employee where the cubs come from. "A man in Missouri leases them to us." I then asked what happens to them when they aren't babies anymore and he takes them back. The employee didn't know. Then I said, "so this guy in Missouri is just breeding bears and then shipping the babies across the country to be rented to places like this?" And she said, verbatim, "yeah, I try not to think about that part." I am glad my two year old will have no memory of this place. If she was older we would be having a long, somber conversation about animal abuse and exploitation for profit. And how any zoo with captive animals should be committed to research, conservation, and betterment of the species. It is crazy to think that in 2023, places like this still exist. Even after multiple citations from the USDA for violations of the Animal Welfare Act. We know better now. We have to do better. To alleviate some of my guilt for unknowingly supporting an establishment like this, I will be making a donation to the Western North Carolina Nature Center. Please take your kids there, not here. **inhumane animal conditions aside, the park is old and rundown. My daughter did enjoy the train ride and some of the old fair-style mechanical rides (carousel, circular cars and boats) and most of the staff were friendly.**

The journey takes you about three-quarters of a mile through the cavern at a comfortable 58 degrees, so bring a light jacket unless you enjoy pretending you're on an episode of Survivor: Chilly Cave Edition. The climb back out is roughly the equivalent of 14 stories, though there are three scheduled rest stops to remind you that oxygen is still available. Like many attractions, your experience depends heavily on the guide. Ours, Sam, was knowledgeable and professional, but more matter-of-fact than entertaining. The information was there; the excitement wasn't always. Fortunately, the real star of the show doesn't need a microphone. The underground boat ride across the second-largest known underground lake is absolutely fascinating. Gliding through the darkness while seeing rainbow trout swimming in waters hidden beneath the mountains is one of those experiences that's genuinely hard to describe until you've seen it yourself. The cavern is also packed with history, but I'll let your guide tell those stories rather than spoil part of the adventure. One bonus: they offer free-roaming spelunking areas for those who want to do a little exploring on their own. Five stars. Unique, memorable, and absolutely worth the detour. Some attractions are tourist traps. The Lost Sea is something you'll actually remember.

There's a great mix of shops, restaurants, attractions, entertainment, and plenty of colorful details that make it an enjoyable place to explore. I visited during the fall, and I especially loved all of the seasonal touches. Pumpkins, mums, hay bales, a vintage tractor, and other autumn decorations made the entire area feel festive and gave me plenty of fun photo opportunities. Of course, the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel is the landmark you can't miss. Riding it gives you a completely different perspective of Pigeon Forge and the surrounding area, and the enclosed gondolas make for a comfortable ride. My biggest hesitation is the price. Since you pay per person, taking an entire family up in one gondola can become expensive pretty quickly. Overall, The Island is a fun stop whether you want to ride attractions, grab something to eat, shop, people-watch, or simply walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. Even if you don't ride the wheel, it makes a pretty spectacular backdrop! Four stars from me--fun, photogenic, and definitely worth exploring, but some of the attractions can make a family visit pricey.

Because of the cool lock and safety system, it's really impossible to mess it up (unless you just totally don't clip in at all) and so easy to use and slide along from obstacle to obstacle. Came today with my 13 yo and paid the birthday all day unlimited. The only 2 activities I wanted to…read moredo was the go karts and rock climbing. In the rock climbing line over 5 mins just a lil boy in front of me. When the attendant starts helping unstrap the current climbers the boys gremlin line jumping sister jumps on front of me. Parents adamant they're together she just got out of line. The attendant just lets the demon goblin go ahead but even after climbing, hitting the buzzer, she continues letting them climb for well over 20 mins. I say something at 1st she's acting like she don't know or remember. Huh? They just climbed off, I said something the moment she ran straight past me. she calls a manager and proceeds to tell the manager she was confused she thought they were my kids. Huh? Why would I be upset her jumping in front of me? You stood there while her parents were adamant she was going ahead of me. The managers like I mean I can throw you like $7 on an arcade card which was pretty insulting considering I paid 25 and only did go carts once a $9 value. Had my daughter's birthday party here on Sunday and I would not recommend to anyone. She stood in front of the whole party and told my 6 year old she didn't have time to eat her birthday cake. This was after she scolded me in front of the whole party for looking in the cabinet after she left the room with the lighter for the birthday candles. She was not very personable with my daughter at all and could have told my daughter that she could eat her birthday cake at one of the many other tables / booths in the place. (It was not busy yet at all) I still ended up paying full price for the birthday party but I was offered a game card to spend there as an apology I guess. Wouldn't recommend, and have such better party experiences in less room time elsewhere. Overpriced for such a terrible experience
