We went here when we were docked for several hours on a cruise! It was beautiful! I had a great time! The food was delicious and the drinks were great! I loved their carajillos! Beautiful location. Pool was nice and warm. Overlooks the beach and you can see the three little island-deer, bird, and goat islands. Because there was five of us, we were able to get a canopy for the same price of 5 day passes. If you are on a NCL cruise, don't buy the excursion, just take a taxi to this place. Service was excellent. Area is mostly wheelchair accessible. They also have a beautiful man made cenote. Our family really enjoy spending the afternoon here. The drinks were terrible- I ordered a paloma and my husband ordered a margarita and they were the same thing and neither was good. The service was average at best- the pool is clean though and the music was good. read more

The receptionist humiliated me for no good reason. I went to Shekeinah many times last year. I've also been there several times for breakfast or dinner this year. I went there a little before 10 AM on Wed, Feb. 26 because I was supposed to meet my aunt and uncles. I told the receptionist I was going to the restaurant and was looking for them. They had not arrived. When they did arrive, 15 minutes later, breakfast got off to a very awkward start. My aunt sat down and said that the receptionist told her I was very rude to her. My aunt said that they like coming here and she felt uncomfortable because of how my actions reflected on her - entirely based on the receptionist's private comment to her. First, I was not rude. I did not insult the receptionist. I didn't raise my voice. I didn't use any foul language. I explained I was going to the restaurant to meet my aunt and uncle. Second, even if I was rude, it's not appropriate to tell other people in my party who arrive later than me. She could have talked to me, her boss, or security. She wanted to ruin our breakfast and make us all uncomfortable. She succeeded. read more
