Had a really good experience with Dr. Oliphant and Robin getting my third molars extracted today…read more I was super nervous about getting sedated for the first time but I'm so glad that I did. Robin put me at ease and kept me comfortable, I woke up and it was all done!

What was…read moreexpected to be a routine procedure ended up being more complex and time-consuming, but I was in the best hands throughout the entire process. From the moment I walked in, the staff's attentiveness and kindness stood out. Team members came into the waiting room offering coffee and tea to my husband and other drivers--such a thoughtful touch. When it was time for discharge, they invited my husband back to thoroughly walk him through the post-op instructions so we felt fully informed and supported. What truly impressed me was their follow-up. I received calls and texts to check in on my recovery. When I experienced significant pain, they brought me back in immediately--no delay, no hassle--and I was able to speak with Dr. Ratliff directly. That level of responsiveness is rare. As a Human Resources Director overseeing more than 100 ambulatory surgery centers across the country, I spend a lot of time in and out of facilities. I've already told my teams: they could take a lesson from OMSA. This was truly patient-centered care at its best.

I had a painful dead tooth, that was killing me on our vacation. It eventually became unbearable and was referred to Dr. Ratliff, by another local endodontist. Of course you're nervous to have your tooth extracted, but my wife and I could see the degree of professionalism that existed from checking in, to discharge from my oral surgery. They always kept her informed before and after surgery. I cannot say enough good things about my first experience with 3 tooth extractions.

I'm saying that jokingly but I don't like my eyes, sinus, teeth nothing on my face manipulated as it freaks me out. But since I grind my teeth and my back molar had a root canal and several procedures due to stress, it fell off and took most of my tooth with it, I decided to just yank it. Yes, sometimes we gotta Cowboy up and "do what must be done." That's where Access Oral Surgery in Summerville comes into the picture. First of all, they specialize in quick response. I was literally able to get seen the day of my call if I needed. Next, they're located in conveniently located in an easy to access area of town with what can be a challenging parking lot. Let's go inside, shall we? The facility is extremely clean and well kept. Next, the staff here are amazing. My appt was at 8am on Thursday and I was checked in and in Xray within 5 minutes of completing my paperwork. After the Xray and consultation I had to finish the paperwork and billing. Man, I was so happy to see how reasonable the pricing was for yanking my tooth. My first dental assistant Krystal was a very kind and patient tech. She asked me all those questions she needed and made me feel comfortable even as I had anxiety. She literally calmed my nerves. Right before the procedure I had another tech - Allison whom was equally efficient and hit my vein for my IV on the first try! She was pleasant and continued treating me with care and love. As for the surgeon Dr Hall, I loved this guy. He went through all of my history, quickly identified the issue and discussed the plan of attack. Moreover, he laughed at my jokes and make several assurances as we prepped. A short note as I've had a LOT of procedures which requires being under, SC the surgeon is also the anesthesiologist. Don't let that scare you, just a detail I found... interesting. I was up and walking around soon after - please forgive my lack of attention to detail about the timing b/c I was woozy, but it was quick. Moreover, my recovery wasn't too bad either. While my face feels like I just got done fighting a kangaroo, there's surprisingly a small amount of pain. If you have an emergency or want to plan any number of dental or oral procedures, look no further than Access Oral Surgery in Summerville. The prices are reasonable, the staff is phenomenal, my procedure was quick and the recovery is fast. While I hope I never have to see them again (I mean that in a loving and self-severing manner) if I do, I know I'm in great hands.
