I believe upon and entering tickets we're given out prior to the line up so basically I guess that means that my ticket number represents the place in as it is understood to be. I heard a customer yell out about his disliking for the wait. All I can say is as for waiting this not conducive if you have littles to wait especially if it goes on after the first to the second hour. I can say that the staff behind the glass did say good morning when I got my ticket-- oh by the way seating is very limited especially if there's already a line formed so keep that in mind. At the time, there was a curb-side parking meter that actually accepted coins. I'm unsure if that's still the case, with the shift to electronic payments. I only had to wait about ten minutes or so before being served by an employee. My interaction was both efficient and pleasant. I would return to this location again, but only if I happened to be in the downtown area.

The lady that was greeting everybody at the door and finding out what they needed was the most pleasant and I thought, wow this is a surprise! But then we waited 30 minutes after our appointment time and my son was supposed to test to get his learners permit. The lady we went to was pretty rude. I'm assuming he failed the eye test, but we were never actually told that. When I said something about the test, she's snarled, "He's not taking the test." And I mean that she literally snarled at me. She threw a form at me, charged me two dollars, and said come back tomorrow with his glasses. Now that's on him that he didn't have his glasses for his eye test, but turns out that the form she threw at me has to be filled out by his ophthalmologist. She could have told us that. She could have told us he failed the eye exam instead of us just guessing. And I'm not even gonna talk about the other female employee that screamed at everybody to be quiet or she'd escort them out of the building when applause broke out after a number was called. If you have 50-60 people waiting with one guy saying he'd been there since 8:15 am and it was now 3 pm, they're gonna break out in applause when a number is called after 30 minutes of no number being called. If you don't have the patience for that and scream at already frustrated customers, maybe the DMV isn't the job for you!

When I first moved here from North…read moreCarolina, I tried to switch my license over to TN, because I wasn't born in America, they had to contact immigration for proof that I was legally here, SEVEN TIMES I came here to try to get my license and SEVEN times immigration said yes she is legally here and all her paperwork is in order, but her original paperwork is in her maiden name and this DMV refused to accept my marriage certificate, my SS card with my married name, my DRIVERS LICENSE FROM THE NEIGHBORING STATE in my married name, and all 7 pieces of paperwork from immigration stating that I am the same person, as proof of legal name change. I had to pay EACH time I went there to process the paperwork and for the license I never received. The last attempt was when the clerk said "maybe if you were born in America, things would be different for you" in a demeaning manner. People literally gasped hearing her say this to me. The supervisor offered to make me a drivers license in my MAIDEN NAME, which is ILLEGAL, because that person "no longer exists" since my SS card was in my married name and I had a full legal last name change. I then ended up going to the DMV in Millington and had no issues at all obtaining my license. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

I arrived at 4:15 p.m and I was out at 4:40. Staff was prompt and informative and friendly and the building had great air conditioning and the staff was playing a great playlist or station.
