The welcome center seemed brand new and was really well done, with a small museum, plus access to the campground and tons of cabins available to rent. The hiking here is incredible. We did the Hemlock Gorge Trail, and it was just the right level of challenge while still being super enjoyable. The scenery was beautiful the entire way. I also highly recommend checking out the Little and Big Lyons waterfalls. It made for a great loop trail and was definitely a highlight. The park itself is very well maintained. We visited right after some heavy winds, so there were quite a few downed trees, but maintenance was already out there actively clearing and fixing things, which was impressive to see. Overall, such a beautiful park and a trip full of unforgettable memories.

The owners go out of their way to make sure you have an amazing experience. You have several options to choose from as far as where you stay. Everything from primitive and powered tent camping, RV sites, small cabins, and a Amazing bunk house. I stayed in a powered tent site. It was very nice; lots of shading trees all over the campground (something lacking in lower MI campgrounds.) They have a heated pool as well as a huge dance hall open every night to go have drinks and socialize. Can't wait to go back.

Perfect for windsurfing, kiteboarding and water sports that do not require a power boat as they are prohibited from the area. Met some nice windsurfers from all over the world here - Hungry, Chilean, Brazilian... not something you would expect being away out in a small lake in Ohio, but a happy surprise. Beautiful scenery, but can tell a lot of people camp here and do not throw away all of their wrappers. The camp ground should enforce the campers to clean up their sites so this place can be preserved better. Great spot.

Last summer, Fiancé and I got placed in sit-in kayaks for the first time. Less than a mile down the river, he complains that he's really uncomfortable, and isn't sure what to do with his feet. Turns out they set him off on a 6-mile trip with NO FOOTRESTS inside the kayak. So Fiancé's excursion ended with a lot of lower back pain. This summer, I went online and reserved an 11-mile trip at 10:00 on a Sunday, three weeks in advance. They called to confirm that I was squared away. Then when I showed up at 9:55, I was told they weren't opening until 11 that morning. When I said I had a 10:00 reservation for the 11-mile trip, they said they hadn't been doing the long trips all week. They didn't have any of my information available, or lost it, so instead of a phone to call give me a heads up, I find this out after driving 35 minutes to the livery. Until they can fix their equipment and have a better booking system in place, I'm done with this company. Our bodies and our time are far too valuable to risk any more mishaps.

However my boat had a 'patched' hole in it and we were taking in water, we literally had to pull over half way down and dump the water out. They are FULLS and we have video and pics to prove it. I have been manipulated and should have demanded atleast a partial refund after our visit (having read up on the law and what it means them lying about size of beds). Great water pressure, good electrical service, and great sewer hook ups. There are a lot of seasonals here, however with so many seasonals, you would expect it to be noisy during the summer and it's not at all. That said, the layout of the campground could use some improvement. Unfortunately, the restrooms are placed in a way that encourages other campers to cut directly through campsites to get to them. We had multiple situations where kids were running up the hill into our site and even coming around our camper and truck, which was unsettling, especially since the parents weren't paying attention. It left us feeling pretty uncomfortable and put a damper on what could have been a perfect experience.
