I have been to hundreds of campgrounds throughout my life and have seen some pretty good ones and some not so great ones. 5 out of 5 for this one! Showers and bathrooms were clean. Nice pads and tables at the campsites. TONS of activities for the kids (ages 5 and 4). Great camp store. Literally no need to leave for anything! Not the same campground I have stayed at this campground several times. My kids love all the activities so we try to make it a yearly stop. They have wibits, outdoor pool, jump pad and other scheduled activities. This time around we were somewhat disappointed with our stay. They campground has been going through a management change. They expressed multiple times they have a 5 year plan. Although I think they are over a year into the plan we had booked months in advance bc the campground used to be hard to get a spot. Although it was only about half full on a holiday weekend when we stayed. They also told us they would have a new resort style pool open by then. Although the pool wasn't even close to being finished. They have emptied out most of the camping spots and have cabins all over the park that have not been hooked up. The grass was really long and someone said the mower had broke. The pool was dirty and we saw broken glass around the edge. Lots of barking dogs, especially across from the playground. During our stay the activities were not at the same caliber as they used to be and many of them you had to pay to participate in. Like bingo you have to bring your own candy bar. And every interaction with one of the bears seemed to have something for sale. The times of events were usually delayed. One time because the shower house needed to be pumped out. I think the dynamic of the type of camper they are trying to reach is different than what I have seen here in the past. Kids still had a great time but just want others to beware if they haven't stayed here in a couple years. read more

Was at jellystone this past weekend. Idk which park is advertised on their site, but it was very misleading. None of those things shown were at the Sandusky park. I took very young grandchildren, so they loved it. As a paying adult...it was so-so. The pool was not ready for use. The advertised food truck was not available. The playground was very lame and small. There were very limited supplies in their store, but tons of camp merchandise. The activities employees were great with the kids and my gkids enjoyed the activities. Stayed in the tiny cabin which was nice inside, but had a mini fridge with no freezer. The kitchenette sink had a regular sized faucet with a bar sink...couldn't use it to wash anything without water going everywhere but the sink! There was a TV and wifi which worked pretty well, surprisingly! read more

We were disappointed with the activities. We went to where they were supposed to be and no one showed up to conduct the activity.

We stayed for two nights. Our cabin had no air conditioning. After bringing it to their attention they stated it needed free on after us going back up to the front as we didn't hear from them. They stated I guess we could move you. It's was going to be 90 degrees we paid for the cabin for the sole purpose of air conditioning. We asked to move over cabin 4 since we were with a group in cabin 3. We were told we couldn't because someone was checking in to that cabin. No one ever checked into that cabin. I'm unsure why we were lied to. Callie is amazing and needs a raise. But for Dave he has zero customer service skills and quite frankly shouldn't be dealing with the public. read more

The first day we got there late and had to sign papers even though I signed all online ! I was reading the paper and when I did not agree to a certain part of it that says that I give permission for them to use any pictures of my kids while there and place it anywhere they would like on internet I told the guy named Joe and he threatened me said if I don't we can not stay there! NO WHERE DOES IT SAY THAT IF YOU DONT SIGN PAPERWORK REGARDING YOUR KIDS GETTING PICTURES YOU CAN NOT STAY! We drove over 8 hours to get to this place only to get threatened to sing these papers or loose my money and leave ! I do not feel that is right at all ! Being in a different state and not knowing much and definitely couldn't afford loosing almost $700 ! We ended up staying there! The cabin we stayed in was clean all but the paper towel w god knows what on it left on the bunk beds and looked like snot on paper towl roll left on sink ! So it was late as mentioned and the kids were hungry we went got food and came back to kick back watch some tv but only thing was the Wi-Fi didnt work so no tv ! When I asked the next day Joe at the desk said oh yea it doesn't work back there I said would have been nice to know when I was registering ! So basically paid double for a basic cabin when we got a upgraded new cabin which should of had things working ! I understand we are camping but when I paid for a cabin which should of been clean n had Wi-Fi it's a little upsetting when it don't ! Next day the kids went to the lake and had fun it is filled w snakes as you would expect just warning you and turtles and fish ! Kids had fun on the lake will say that ! The water does stink and has a lot of algae! That day we decided to go check out n see if food truck was open nope not open in fact the whole trip it was not open ! The store they have doesn't have coffee or food not even worms to fish so you have to go to town ! The one pool was green and not being used ! Most of the activities they had were ones you had to pay for ! The gem is a rip off nothing in there just playing w rocks n water ! They have construction going as stated on site but what they don't tell you is they do it at night and it's loud as crap ! Following day we had fun at lake as said they have this play area for kids on the lake a lot of kids were playing rough and being bullied ! Their is canoes and the kids liked them ! They have a rc track but you have to bring your own car so we went out n got them one so they could play ! My back went out and I was unable to walk over so I used the golf cart to get us there n sit and watch them NO SIGNS ABOUT RESTRICTED AREA ! In fact a lot of people were driving back there its not a wet or hard to get out place w the golf cart anyways joe came around and starting yelling at me and the kids n when I tried to ask him why he was picking on me he said nothing I told him by backs out I am doing no harm here and ended up telling the kids to leave w me and we went back to the cabin ! So I have a disability when it comes to my back and had to use the golf cart to assist my kids and watch them at the area only to get yelled at how rude is that somehow they had to be unlawful ! Now I could understand if I was doing things like taking it and doing things out of control etc but nope ! Let's just say it made us never want to come back again and make sure no family or friends as well ! read more

Just got home from a weekend at Jellystone and it was a good time. They do have many projects going on at once, new pool not open yet, but the staff was excellent, very friendly, professional and helpful. I have to say, I was vastly disappointed with our stay this weekend. There were dead ants on the bunk bed mattress-I know it's not a 5 star hotel, but I don't think this was okay. The trail was much too scary for small children, even during the day-a warning of some sort should have been stated or told to avoid entirely. The bears visit during checkout was a drive by and when we asked the bear to wave instead of just staring forward, it seemed to be a huge inconvenience. Not to mention the website said coffee machines were K-cups so we went out and bought k cups and were out of luck with typical coffee makers. For the cost we spent to stay in a cabin, the activities should have been included but each one had a charge. That being said, the hay ride guide was very nice and helpful and the kids did enjoy their time there. read more

I am very upset about how my family was treated when we visited your Jellystone Campsite located in Sandusky Ohio. We were discriminated against, embarrassed, and made to feel unwanted, and I am very upset and hurt by this experience! For the past 2 years my fiancée chose to celebrate his birthday at the Sandusky campsite. This year was his 50th birthday and again he wanted to spend it camping with our family. The past 2 years we reserved the tents sites 701-706 located at the top of the hill and we also reserved 4 cabins. That area is large and away from the other camper sites, it's perfect for our group to gather and celebrate without disturbing the other campers. The people in our group who reserved cabins often come to that area during the day. We never had any problems in the past two years, and we enjoyed our experience, which is why we chose to come back. This year was just horrible, and it is due to your unprofessional manager Dave! (I did not get his last name) This manager Dave is unprofessional, rude and racist! We were lied to about the laws and policy of the camp! We were denied access to amenities (the pavilion) for no reason! We were the target of unethical business practice by plotting to charge us for lost items that were in his possession. We were treated unfairly embarrassed and harassed simply because we are African American. He needs to be fired for racist behavior his intimidation tactics, his unethical business tactics, his lack of integrity and his rude and disrespectful manner! read more

I took my 9 and 13 year old for 2 nights and stayed in a boo-boo cabin. We have never been and I had no idea what to expect! We had the best time! First of all this cabin, clean, adorable, had everything they said and more, comfortable and did I mention clean???? I have not swam in a lake in at least 20 years and I was not looking forward to it- again- clean and so much fun! We kayaked for hours! The foam pit was hilarious. The crafts super reasonably priced and well done. The staff- amazing, kind and seemed happy to be there. Of course it rained but our cabin was cozy. I feel closer to my girls and am excited to go back, thank you! read more

This is managed by people who love what they do. Kids are a priority and it shows. They have activities scheduled all day that covers everyone's interests. On Saturday, July 7th, I arrived at JellyStone Camping grounds with my family. After checking in I proceeded to my cabin. Everything was up and running smooth. An hour later I noticed caution tape being put up by my camping grounds. We were told that the area was reserved. The Wi-Fi in my room never worked. I spoke to the front desk about it and I was told too many people is using Wi-Fi so I have to wait to use it or do something else. I paid for 8 sets of towels and sheets and I was brought 4 wash cloths, 2 towels and 8 sets of sheets. When I spoke about it, they made me feel like I was lying. My family reserved an area on top of the hill 2 months prior to coming and was placed else where without being notified. We were also asked to leave several times. Only because we we're complaining about the small space we were put in opposed to the large are we paid for. The manager Dave is very prejudice and disrespectful. We will never return again. read more

Nice out in the country campground. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Kids seems to have fun but like us you don't have to have kids. Most people are seasonal but there are a number first time and repeat guess with rvs and tents like us. Have pick of shaded or more open sites, the more open sites are closer to the clubhouse, pool, and playground. There was entertainment on Saturday night. read more

Jellystone Park Cleveland Sandusky - Playground for the kid if you are camping with kids. - Campgrounds Near Me - Nova, Ohio

No longer a fan. Our family camped in the park prior to it becoming a Jellystone Park. Once it became a Jellystone it definitely switched gears to appeal more to weekend guests than seasonals, but it was still fun, clean and friendly and worked for my young family. Until it didn't. In May 2021 Great Escapes Rv and Resorts LLC purchased the park. Since the change in ownership everything about the park has gone downhill. The first thing you'll notice when you pull into the park now will be all the bright beautiful attractions. However, if you look a bit deeper you'll notice the lack of seasonals. That is because we all were told on Father's day this year that we weren't as important to the corporation as the overnight guests who throw hundreds of dollars a weekend at them. We were given the option to possibly stay on as seasonsls, unsure how many spots they would have at that time. Late in the summer we were given our contracts. The contracts included a lot of spelling errors and a huge price tag. Reducing the 100 seasonal spots to 33. Outside of the park. Nearly $1000.00 more. Oh, and while you can't have decks or your own sheds - you can pay an extra $500 to keep your golf cart. It would have been something to consider if the pool hadn't been closed so much this summer due to out of control algae growth and a broken rope dividing the deep and shallow ends. There were so many more issues too numerous to post here. They began charging a price for guests that wasn't even listed on the website. That's just bad, shady business! The website said $10 a guest a day and over memorial weekend with no notification or update to the website they started charging $20.00 a day a person. I had to get corporate involved because that wasn't sitting well with me. Next year though we were notified it will be $35.00 a person, per day. We also were told on Father's Day at the meeting by VP Kelly Jones we had until April to have our things removed from our spots if we were not staying. I asked her twice to be certain we understood that April was the timeframe (All of this is on video, we recorded it as a group so we all had the info) And when we got the contracts, the date to have everything removed was bumped way up to Nov. 1. That is how this company operates. Without integrity or honesty. Good luck to Jellystone seasonals everywhere because you offer no value to them. And if you think they care about overnight guests more, not really. It's not about you or your safety. It's only your money. There was a scary incident with a small child getting his leg tangled in the rope upside down on the lake wibits on the far side where he couldn't be seen from the beach. His head was under water and the fountain was left on so his exhausted cries for help when he lifted his head out were completely muffled. He was only saved because seasonal campers on the other side of the wibits jumped into action. When my husband went to the lake attendant to explain what happened her reply was "Well he had a life vest on!" That was a horrifying and ignorant enough response for me to pull my family from this park for next year. The response from the park on trip advisor says parents are required to be with their children. But 1.) That's not listed at the lake rules and 2.) It isn't enforced. And 3.) Even after this there were many times they forgot to turn the fountain off. A near tragedy wasn't enough reason for corrective action. That's because only your money and photo ops to make more money for them actually matter. I get it's a business. That's what businesses do, make money! However I've been a part of many businesses that cultivate a spirit of community. It can be about more than just the almighty dollar. But not here, not at Cleveland Sandusky Jellystone Park. read more
