He asked me to come back in an hour. I noticed that there was one on the other side of the counter, so I asked if I could have that one. They said oh no - this being used for display only - If I came back in an hour, I would have a new one. But slowly, I wore him down and he gave it to me. i'd like to preface this with : i am not a smoker of any kind.... no cigarettes, no e-cigg's…read more... nothing. BUT i do know great service when i experience it. i went to check out this product for my mother. back story - my mother has been a smoker for longer than i can remember. i've also been trying to get her to quit for as long as i can remember. i know that e-cigarettes are very new, and the effects of them have not yet been fully researched as far as long term. the dangers known so far are specific to the chemicals used in the liquids, and with heavy use, pneumonia due to the "water vapor" that collects in your lungs (c'mon guys.... what do you think the vapor is?). those factors in mind - my mother was attracted to this product mainly b/c my other family members use it, and b/c i wanted her to quit.... this was the compromise. after researching the very popular Volcano Vapor guys, and hearing praise and complaints from dozens of my friends and family about the V.V. product, we decided to keep looking. Smokeless Hawaii was recommended by several of my family members and some friends, so we decided to check them out for a few reasons: #1 - cheaper than V.V. #2 - much less crowded than V.V. #3 - location so how do they compare? - S.H. has a large variety of "juices" (flavored liquids) like V.V. - S.H. is much cheaper as far as product itself, and liquids - S.H. will replace any damaged products, even if it was your own fault they broke!! - S.H. tanks do not leak.... every V.V. user i've talked to complains that their tank leaks.... - S.H. is much less crowded than V.V., so if you have a lot of questions, or want to sample lots of their product before buying, they have the time to give you their attention - S.H. uses a 4 wick technology, that does not require you to spin the atomizer, V.V. uses a atomizer coil that eventually burns out more quickly than the wicks do, meaning you have to replace them more often - S.H.'s liquids are supposedly the only liquids that have been tested by the FDA - if you are a V.V. user, you can still buy juice from them as it can be used in any e-liquid cigarette. i also wanna throw in here - Gerald the owner is SUPER NICE and SUPER HELPFUL.... great customer service!! check out my pictures for more details! they come in a ton of colors, different models, different cases, all kinds of stuff. basically, if you're comparing V.V. and S.H... it comes down to cost and preferred product technology. the main points are Smokeless Hawaii is cheaper, their product does not leak, and their juices have been FDA tested. right now, they only have one location, in the back side of the old social security building in Pearl City.... there is a good amount of parking there, and they are right next door to "Holy Smokes". happy hunting!

First, there is an extremely small selection of prepared foods (especially compared to 7 eleven). A couple time I purchased their spam musubis. OMG, those were amongst the top 3 worst I've ever tasted. Small slices of spam, hard rice, and just no flavor. The second issue I have with this place is service. The staff here waste WAY too much time talking story with each other or with friends stopping by instead of helping waiting customers. It's like ringing up customers is secondary to doing whatever they want to do. Anyway, I try my best to avoid this place at all costs. For example, I really only stop here when I am extremely lazy and don't want to drive to 7 eleven, or when I prefer an icee to a slurpee.

I don't mind the drive from Halawa to Kapolei as it's going against traffic making it easier and faster than town destinations. Making my schedule to hit the furthest Costco Gas first. Home Depot for Gift Cards second then Foodland Farms lastly. Nice parking fronting the store I was jumping puddles and dodging raindrops as I entered. Located in the middle of the store is the R Field Wine Company section. Ordered two pounds of their imported Mortadella (excellent) for Italian sandwiches my son wanted to replicate after his most recent trip to Rome along with some sliced cheese. Since this visit was before Christmas I made a number of stocking stuffer purchases of Manoa Honey, Lingonberry jam, some wonderful goat cheeses and my favorite St Angel French soft cheese along with three bags of fresh Lavosh. No wines this trip but they do have some good labels on their shelves. Another trip planned this week, I'm making my list.....

Mmmmmm *these* are just a few of my favorite things!! After 11 years in Italy, when I returned to my native Hawai'i it was a bit of a bummer to not be able to relive and share certain foods that became daily dish staples for me. I would boast about this cured meat and THAT parmiggiano and creamy burrata mozzarella... But they were just memories of the past. Hawai'i is my home and i would never move back to Europe but just part of the palate was missing it... Until we stumbled upon R. Field Wine. Tears... ugly, slobbery tears that ruin your makeup. I cried them. But out of joy. Pure joy. You want Italian staples? You can find them here. There are several locations, all found inside or next to Foodland, but the ones I frequent most are Kailua, Ala Moana and Kapolei. All the greatest cured meats I could find in Italy, I can now find at R. Field Wine. Not even kidding. My favorite prosciutto is San Daniele (they tend to butcher the name- but they have it- so I'll take it) and my favorite type of mozzarella is burrata (a little pricey but worth every penny). If you are making a charcuterie/ grazing board to impress, the following are my go-to's from this awesome gem of a place. They give samples if you are unsure about the meat. -Prosciutto San Daniele (the smaller the round, the sweeter-- I like mine salty- so I always ask to see the cut first... **when curing, they hang the meat from smaller end- so all salt and seasoning runs down to bigger part**) -Prosciutto di Parma (the real deal, not that pre-packaged smelly cardboard- same rule as above, the smaller the round, the sweeter- the longer- the saltier) -Speck (if you find scamorza cheese, roll it up in the speck and pan-fry... ooohh!! Amazing!! They're called "uccelletti" or "little birds") -Bresaola (bray-ZA-OH-LA) this is the leanest cured meat you will find. In Italy it is common to find this smoky delicacy in horse meat but the imported one is usually beef. Sprinkle with lemon and olive oil for a model's meal. They eat this when dieting. If you want to make it more exciting, eat it with mozzarella to cut the salt. -Burrata- the creaminess of this mozzarella is unparalleled... doesn't slice well but on pizza or raw with prosciutto or tomatoes is divine. -Pate- they have black truffle duck pate and goose pate- they are amazing- just depends if you like truffle or not! Try them! Cambozola- is like a creamy gorgonzola that is less sharp but melts beautifully on warm crusty bread! Note: not for non-blue cheese lovers. The brave only! Savoiardi- what I use to make tiramisu. Don't forget the mascarpone in the fridge section! R. Field also is home to many wines and liqueurs (as the name suggests) and quality local products like my favorite kauai cocoa for tiramisu, chocolate, coffee and honey. Hope this was helpful! When all those super nice car driving parents converge twice a day on weekdays and they literallly could car less that their cars blocking up a major arterial in Honolulu Hawaii (the island of Oahu) and (4) four other joining roads. They act like it not there fault that they are not moving an inch and prohibit other vehicles on co joining to even more or avoid them. are backed up and make roads parking lots a dead standstill happes. Located at the Salt Lake Shopping Center right beside Safeway you'd think that you're gonna find something at a great price...nah everything was dusty as if it was sitting there for quite some time yes they had the booze but soft drinks, chips and snacks as well with smokes and other stuff. It was too pricey so we just went to Safeway next door as I was hoping to support local small biz it was too much and not the greatest selections and didn't really find what we were looking for as well but we tried.
