Alright, this may seem harsh but it's gotta be done. Two Stars based entirely on the burger, because it was that bad. Context: Lunchtime stop in Pearlridge. Place was not very busy. Place is called Beer Lab, so must comment on the beer. Got a tiny beer, Hazy IPA, which was tasty. Food: Giant Pretzel App- Good Pretzel. Good cheese. $1.50 for tiny cup of mustard was annoying. Burgers: Son and I ordered the same thing- single smash burger. He got his plain, just meat and cheese. I got everything that came on it. His was fine. Mine was not. First, bun to meat ratio was outrageously bad. Smashburgers are supposed to be thin, so you gotta use a smaller bun. Double probably would have been a better call, but in this case it would have just doubled the really unpleasant taste. The whole thing was burned. The bun was burned, the burger was burned, the caramelized onions were burned. This may just have been the burned taste, but it also tasted dirty, like it came off of a nasty grill. And, yes I ate it anyway. I dont send back food. I take pictures of it half eaten and tell random strangers on the internet how bad it tasted. Service was good, beer was good, pretzel was good. Burger was so abysmally bad that I cant ever see going back here. You can clearly see looking at the bun that its burned, and they sent it out anyway. That speaks volumes about how a restaurant is run.
We were seated fairly quickly. Servers were on the young side. Late teens to very early twenties so they seemed a bit intimidated because there was a huge party going on. Or food came in a timely manner but once our food came our server never came back. We had to hunt them down for our tab. Even after, they misplaced our card that was needed to open the tab. Took an extra 12 minutes to find before we could leave.
Well somehow I didn't realize The Hall is the Beer Lab we were going to until we got there. It is in a mall. I also was not expecting that. Of course it made the parking situation nice and easy. I searched "breweries near me" when we left Pearl Harbor and that's how we ended up there. Everyone seemed happy. There were birthday parties and other large gatherings at the tables around us. The "contactless service" does seem a little strange for the warm vibes at the tables, but it was fine! I had a glorious flight. In a million years I would not have predicted the green beer, Salamat Gozaimasu, to be our favorite, but it was delicious. I will be hunting beers with similar ingredients in the future. The food was tasty, as well. We almost circled back to this Beer Lab because we enjoyed it so much.
The food was pretty good but most of all the portion sizes were extremely generous for the prices. The cuisine, menu, and food quality in general are very lowkey bistro/bar food that is great for sharing amongst friends and family. My favorite aspect is the ambience as it is a warm and welcoming making you want to stay way longer and chat. They also have trivia nights where families can bring the kids to enjoy which I thought was very unique and fun. The service interactions are limited as the ordering system is through the QR codes on the tables but for me personally I enjoyed that aspect as well. There was less pressure to rush out of the restaurant as soon as the food arrives. Definitely will be my go to for any small gatherings with friends and family!
Coworkers and I love coming here during our lunch hour because a table is always available and the workers are awesome. Order through the QR code separately or together. Everything I've tried so far is delicious. And the drinks are good too.
The Hall is the perfect place for a pau hana! There's plenty of parking and there's good food! My friends and I decided to visit for an after work pau hana. We had a large group and so I wanted to make a reservation ahead of time. Because it was somewhat of an event, I was able to coordinate few weeks prior. The staff was so helpful and friendly. When we arrived, our table was ready and we quickly got seated. They have a huge menu of pupus to choose from as well beers and mixed drinks. What I liked about the hall was the ability to order individually. All you have to do was scan a QR code and everybody could take care of their own tab. The serving sizes are huge so I highly recommend if going with a group of people ordering a handful of things and sharing amongst each other.
Late night chill... Not sure how we got here but my work bestie and I needed a place to sit and relax and found ourselves here at The Hall by Beer Lab HI as it's located right in Pearlridge Shopping Center near TJ Maxx where parking can be challenging though is free making just a first world issue at times. As we walked in it was quite busy but we were lucky to grab a little hightop table and grabbed a couple of beers and as we decided to start ordering as ever item on the menu sounded good we ordered Grilled Kimchee Ham Sando which was a yummy bite and Kim Chee Fried Rice was just as good along with loaded fries which they forgot and when we got it it was cold and sad but to apologize the staff offered us a free round of beer which I passed as I was driving but my friend took the opportunity to try the other option she was thinking of and enjoyed it. Since it's part of the mall once it's closed so is the door connecting to it so you leave at the other entrance but they do have their own restroom which very nice and convenient so that you can relax and enjoy and cheers. One of my favorite breweries, especially on the west. I love the Christmas decor too! Keep an eye out for special events. My sister and I attended a "Sip, Savor, & Celebrate" event last night with dessert and beer pairings. Everything was good. My favorite beer is still their red ale. My favorite cocktail is their berry guri guri. We also ordered an ume based beer, which was great! I love the service. You can call to reserve a table or just walk-in. Most times I just walk-in. Servers are always so nice and pleasant. Parking is extremely easy but a bit difficulty during the holiday season. I still highly recommend this place!
The Hall by Beer Lab is the spot for good vibes, great food and creative drinks. Once seated you can scan the QR code to place your order. They give you the option to pay individually or as a group. Located in Uptown Pearl Ridge, Beer Lab can get pretty busy at night and especially on the weekends so plan accordingly because the food does take a little longer to arrive. We ordered the Fried Chicken Skin, Kalua Pork Nachos and Sushi Bake. Great portions perfect for sharing with a group. They have a wide selection of original beers and mixed drinks that go well with the food. Can't wait to try more things on their menu!
This spot is always a go-to with coworkers or colleagues after work. The food is great tasting, prices are reasonable and they offer beer sizes in different options so you can safely try more than one type. Their beer selection is pretty extensive and unique! Definitely better to go in a group and do family style for food so you can try a bunch of their great dishes. I've been here multiple times and 9/10 times we are seated right away. They have a variety of seating available. Including long runner tables with bench seating available for larger parties. As well as smaller tables for smaller parties. Both regular chair table seatings and bar stool table seatings. The staff are always nice, welcoming and patient. The food and drinks come out fairly fast compared in my experience to other restaurants. This location is at pearlridge mall so there is plenty of parking. They have an entrance door that faces the outside of the mall building and they also have their own "in store" bathroom which is nice. Highly recommend!
Lunch review food only! Tried the smoked meat fries, chicken wings, local style fried rice. Everything was tasty and the size was great for sharing! The fries were thin and crispy, the smoked meat was smokey and kinda sweet from the bbq sauce, it had a nice crunch from the sautéed onions. Can't go wrong with the chicken wings! The batter was thin, light, crispy and chicken tender. The local style fried rice was moist and had bacon and crispy pork belly, topped with a scrambled egg.
The Pearlridge location is primed for maximum enjoyment of locally brewed beer and locally sourced and created cuisine. With a large selection of beer and even larger menu is a great place to relax and wait if your other half is busy shopping! The beer is cold and quite tasty made from local fruits and flavors; the food just as unique. Unfortunately, unlike the "rustic" location in Beretania, there is no poke available. Not a problem because the other food options make up for it. With plenty of parking and tables, as a previous review noted, a great location for "pau hana
This spot is in the mall! Plenty of parking around. A bit of a hidden beer tasting gem. The atmosphere is interesting since it's inside the mall, but it was quiet and there was decent lighting. There are beer tastings of 4 oz or 12 oz each. We tried the fried rice, burger, and beer cheese pretzel, and some meat fries. The beer cheese wasn't real beer cheese, but the pretzel was warm! The fried rice was classic Hawaiian style. And the burgers were a decent medium rare average burger. Fries were crisp and nice.

Second and last time coming to this location. We overlooked our first visit when my wife was done eating and I still hadn't gotten my food yet. It was the weekend and busy. But our second time was a mellow Wednesday for lunch and while the timing was better (still not synced), the food was either meh or completely shameful. Yes, shameful! Wife got the Caesar salad with char siu chicken katsu. The chicken was ono but the salad was lazy. Basic greens with a low-quality bottled sauce squeezed on top. No wonder it came out five minutes before mine. I got the fish tacos with tots (extra $2), and this dish was the most egregious rip off I've ever seen in a restaurant. No wonder the server dropped it and ran. For $18, I got three street taco-sized flour tortillas, goopy mayo-laden "slaw", and pico with a teeny tiny piece of fish on top. See the pics! Smaller than my thumb. Barely two tater tots in size. And because it was plopped into mayo slaw, it was soggy on arrival. The fish was also suspiciously fishy tasting. I debated eating it. I ended up making one taco with all the fish and a potato taco with some tots before finally giving up. I know things are tough for restaurants right now. But this was ridiculous. I paid and left and called it a lesson learned. I'll likely stick to the Pucks Alley location from now on. Still some pride in what they serve there. read more

I am not one that likes to drink or any beer connoisseur, in fact I don't care for beer at all -- though they have some interesting flavors. I love coming here! The food and service is what has me coming back, It's easy to reserve a table online ahead of time. When people want to hangout to catch up over a meal I'm usually quick to say let's go here. Their menu changes time to time but I'm sure you'd find something that suits each person. The best thing is that everything comes out family style, big plates of food shared amongst the smaller plates for each person to pick and try out everything you ordered. If you're lucky enough to see the tiramisu on the menu I'd definitely try that. Also, it was way bigger than we thought but no complaints here since it was delicious! A new thing I noticed as well was that you can order and pay your tab on your phone by scanning the QR code on the table you're seated at. Very convenient as this place tends to get pretty busy. read more
First time coming here, and we had the falafel salad and the Hall burger with onion rings, plus a lilikoi cream soda. Servers were super polite, friendly and respectful. The ambiance is classic sports bar/pub, with actual barrels holding up their high tops. The barrels are admittedly a little wide so getting your legs under the table is,...a strech...lol. The lilikoi cream soda was refreshing and tasty. Not too sweet and a light creaminess to it. The edamame falafel salad was very tasty and we enjoyed their spin in pickled veggies (a namasu like take on pickles). The tzaziki had a nice romesco sauce to mimick harissa, but it was a touch over seasoned (salt). Eaten all together it was a good dish. The Hall burger was done to a nice medium and the sauce and toppings were great. The onion rings were slightly over, making them too crunchy for my liking. Maybe a nice ranch sauce might have helped soften the crunch. Overall a good experience and well be sure to check out their other 2 locations soon. Support local! read more
Finally got to try this place. Anywhere with a recommendation from friends that there is good food and bonus of mobile ordering is worth a try! I made my online order but forgot to submit it and the food was still ready in about 15 minutes which I was thrilled about because we were starving after errands. We got the burger and onion rings, loaded fries, and loco moco. Burger was good, tasty, had a nice sauce, and burger bun was nicely toasted. Onion rings were crispy. Loaded fries were perfect! Crunchy, not overly salted, and had yummy toppings (garlic butter, truffle oil, and pecorino cheese). The loco moco was just okay. Gravy (brown) was not very flavorful and it was pretty plain without additional textures and flavors from mushrooms or onions. I probably wouldn't get the loco moco again but would definitely be back!!! Probably a good spot for game day or pau hana!! read more

It's tricky to rate a bar/restaurant for me. I'm not sure what would have made this place 5 stars for me. The service was good. The fries with the whole shebang were good especially with my little 4 oz, sampler beer. That was the good part. you can order 4 oz beer if you're not sure what you want or you don't want to drink too much. Even though this is a bar and noise level is high, we did see some people bringing their kids in here. I would say it's a friendly bar inside Pearlridge. read more

Food: 4/5 Dare I say I miss the old menu But here are my go-tos - Char siu chicken katsu: Big portions and unique (to me at least) - Giant pretzel: Can't go wrong with a pretzel lol - Fish tacos: Depends on who makes it. Sometimes the sauce is fire and there's a good amount of toppings. Other times it's like, five slivers of cabbage lol. - Loco moco: Good to share with someone. Sausage gravy is *chefs kiss* Service: 5/5 The staff are fast and friendly. I absolutely love the QR codes. It makes it so so perfect when going out with friends. Everyone can be on their own tab and pay for their own orders. Ugh I love it. After reading other reviews, maybe staff can be more aware of older customers that don't know how to order? The Food is just alright. The big boy salad is not so big. The crispy pork is a little bit hard. My husband enjoyed the beer he loves brew beers. Mines was also good its not a beer it's cocktail drink. But I forgot what it is but it was good!!!. The service is a little bit good. Some waitress is awesome. I forgot her name but she is good. My friend has been telling me to try this place for a few months now so when my grandson called me to go to breakfast I asked him if he wanted to try this place. It's a nice trendy looking place when you pass by at night, but in the morning it's less busy and really nice. The food was really good as was our server. I have nothing to complain about. I've always heard of Beer Lab but didn't start coming here until recently. I've been missing out! The place is pretty big and has lots of spacious seating. I was surprised to see how big both their beer/drinks and food menu are. From my recent visit, I got the 8 oz Chasing Sun Rises beer and I enjoyed it! It was a lighter beer which I prefer and it had a nice fruity taste. For food we got the fried noodles, crispy pork and a side of rice. Everything was delicious! The fried noodles had a lot of meat and toppings in it. The crispy pork was basically lechon kawali, which you can't go wrong with! Both times I went the service was pretty good and fast. We vs. me plates and vice versa. Another moment of spontaneity for a party of five meandering where to eat. No res needed. Arrived a little after 5ish with cousins seated at a long table signaling us to hele mai. Water carafes with plastic cups came in handy to quench our thirst. Business was steady with plethora of locals. Lighting was perfect. Can get loud at times with nearby, ongoing convos. We had two servers that were patient and helpful. They were able to resolve hiccups in orders - waited for 12 oz beer to arrive, yet was ordered same time as cousin's beer, an extra 12 oz beer that my hubby didn't order, replenished extra clean plates when used ones were removed from the table, had to inquire about order for cinnamon toast twice before it was brought to us. Customer service needs more organization and efficiency for the visit to flow with happy and repeat returnees. Our son enjoyed and consumed all of his homemade cheeseburger with crinkled fries. Honorable highlight for the night: Furikake Ahi Soba: Ahi was perfectly cooked, moist on the inside, with ideal ratio of panko, furikake, aioli and katsu sauce drizzle. Hints of minced garlic on yakisoba, with tad of greens, and red ginger balanced everything on this dish. Category is under We dish and great for sharing family style. This entree would also succeed as a Me dish. 5 out of 5. Please consider keeping this entree for lunch and dinner. Definitely a winner! We also enjoyed: Garlic Fries: Hints of minced garlic and freshly grated Parmesan cheese cuts to the chase on crinkled fries. Giant Pretzel: Reminded me of a happy, huge pretzel. Interesting taste and a twist for mustard seed sauce. Cheese dipping sauce also came in handy if gravitating toward traditional palate. K.F.C. = Korean Fried Chicken goes well alone or paired with beverages. Batter, seasonings, garnishes, and greens worked in favor for this tasty appetizer. I think this We appetizer needs a few more pieces in one order. Banana Lumpia: Ok I didn't eat this one. However, my CIL insisted I take a picture of this dessert. Shared with three others as they relished it in time before vanilla ice cream could fully melt. Cinnamon Toast: Four diagonal slices of heat hot and evenly seasoned cinnamon, sugar, and more with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. Four of us shared. Perfect way to cap the evening, satisfy our palates and tummies before saying our thank-yous, goodbyes and hugs. Till next time. read more
First time here and only spent 45 minutes. Austere entrance, I've driven past it many times and had absolutely no clue this was the entrance and the signage doesn't scream the name over the door. Two trips past and my drinking bud texted he saw me going past from his seat inside. Looking over my shoulder I was amazed at the small entry. Found parking and walked myself back shaking my head. Once inside the operation is much larger than it appears from outside and the back door leads you into the mall. So once inside you can sit at a bar with six seats, high top tables against the wall with two or three stools or tables for eight people you may or may not know. We sat at the bar because we actually like to. Being second of our party of three to arrive the menu was already on the table so I quickly chose the Mango Ling hing seltzer not wanting to fill up on beer bubbles only to be met with a "sorry not available"! You know that's not the best way to greet a customer...why not start with "hi, I'm Ms bartender, let me tell you our specials and WHATS NOT AVAILABLE ON THE MENU YOU'RE HOLDING". So looking over the menu again I found another seltzer and ordered that. Luckily it was refreshing which was all I wanted. Two drinks later we paid our tab and moved on to our dinner adventure. Prices are reasonable for a brewery and parking is free. I'm sure we'll be there again for another met up, warm up. Didn't try the food so maybe next time for that too. read more
Five of us walked in around 7:30ish and found seating immediately. The server showed us the menu of beers & also let us know the food menu using their QR code was more updated than the printed menu. I'll preface this by saying this is the second time I've visited since the new menu rollout. I had a draft sitting for a long time because I waited over 45 mins for a flatbread a few days after the new menu launched. It was cold, burned, and I only ate two pieces before I gave up on it. After a week of rain, my husband decided he wanted a beer and we both agreed we weren't going to eat but a friend joined us and decided he wanted dinner so we just bit the bullet since we were already there. Idk what compelled me to order the flatbread again but I did and they really redeemed themselves this time. It was fresh, hot, & look at that cheese pull! We got a small order of fries to share and it was definitely enough for 2 adults and my 1 year old to split. Glad we tried it again. It was super busy on this specific night but the food was quick, the beer was refreshing and I can't wait to go back. read more

Do they charge any extra surcharges , like kitchen surcharges?
I don't believe they do. Was just there a couple of weeks ago. Love their service though. The servers are always so helpful and friendly. Love the atmosphere there.
