Always easy in and out. Staff is cheerful. Excellent value. Always correct price posted.

They are convenient and fast but certainly not quality. There are tons of staff but my headlights and hood still had bug splatter and they did not bother vacuuming the sides by the doors or part of the trunk. Windows were also left streaky in trunk area. Not the worse job ever but certainly below expectations for $30. Not so bad that I won't go back but enough to make me double check everything BEFORE driving off in the future. read more

Gas is always cheaper here in Aspen Hill then closer to the DC line. I paid $3.63 today. There is a gas station on three of the four corners here. All the stations are priced about the same. There is even another Shell, but there was road construction beside the entrance off Aspen Hill Road. It's easy to get in here, and not too difficult to make a left turn out to get back to Connecticut Ave. read more

This is a review for the service center, you should not expect much in order of customer service. I came here for a inspection and from the first call for an appointment, it felt like I was transported back 25 years to the gruff service days, where they were doing you a favor. The inspection did get done in just over 2 hours, because another job got put in front of mine, despite my appointment. If that was the end of it, they'd be short of A-OK. Unfortunately, they messed up on the VIN number, wasting me a trip to the MVA and then another day because the mechanic had left early afternoon and would not be back till the next day. I understand people make mistakes, but not even a sorry for wasting a day of my time and all the gas driving back and forth - I think this is simply common courtesy. Even the MVA was more sympathetic, though they did nothing wrong, the rep gave me a note allowing me to skip the line when I came back - thumbs up to Cyndi @ MVA. Also regarding the cost, they tack on a 8% shop/misc fee, though no supplies were used. Should have tried Twinbrook Sunoco or Parklawn Mechanical Service who inspect for $10 less. As for the gas station, the prices are reasonable and extra discounts on Tuesdays ($.20 off premium) and Thursdays ($.05 off regular). However I'd avoid the service station, unless you're nostalgic for the old days of customer service. read more

This place has one of the cheapest prices for gas. Usually 5 cents below the average in the DC area. It's not as cheap as the Shell Gas Station at MD198, but it's where I regularly go to to fill up. HOLLER. read more

You want BAD Service? Well, this is the place. Gas is one of the most reasonably price around but DONT EVER use the Auto service as its terrible and, better watch out for the VERY OLD MAN at the somewhat reception as this guy needs serious attitude intervention. read more

These guys are AWESOME. They do a great job, they won't waste your time or money, and they're just good, solid men. When they accidentally underquoted me for a battery and it turned out to cost more, they footed the extra rather than go back on the rate they promised. Plus, they have a really great VIP card system, which has saved me well over $100 in the 5 months since I got it. I couldn't recommend the guys at Aspen Hill Shell more for any auto repair. read more

We have been coming to the service center for years. Dependable, honest service with competitive prices. For an oil change, I usually get an appt a few days in advance and then after dropping off the car slip next door or across the street to shop. Near Kohls, Giant, Michaels, etc. They offer a VIP card and our family is able to the coupons for more than one vehicle which is sweet. read more

Went in for my MD State Inspection (ugh), and I needed a couple of tires to pass it. Not unexpected but enough to potentially mess up my day of errands (I know that they were needed & I trust that I wasn't being swindled; I just hadn't really planned for it). They called around to find someplace that had the weird size of tires I needed and got it taken care of; the whole thing including the inspection took less than 3 hours, so I was still able to make it to the MVA for the joys that awaited me there... I greatly appreciated the customer service, and I'll definitely return if I hear a funny noise! read more

This was, by far, my worst customer service experience ever. After paying $30 to fill up our tank at this gas station, our car wouldn't start. While this was unfortunate for us it didn't actually reflect poorly on the business. What DID reflect poorly on the business was the reaction the clerk had. After calmly explaining our predicament, he stormed towards our car and demanded that I help him push our car over, and that my mother steer. "I'm not okay with you being here! It could be four hours until your tow truck comes and this is the busiest night of the year!"--that's what he yelled at my mother behind the wheel as we pushed. He was also rude to the cars around us as he told them to get out of the way. "Do you even know how to drive!?", he yelled towards one woman. There were many more angry words as well. On a better note, there were several kind citizens that helped us move the car, and our tow truck actually came in only 10 minutes. Luckily we didn't have to deal with the clerk for too long, but I sincerely sympathize with anybody who has to. In the future, I know I will go out of my way to avoid this place! read more

I've noticed the "good" reviews are ffor the price of gas, not work done on a vehicle. There's a reason for this. These guys are scam artists. Unauthorized work was done on my car and when I brought this to the attendants attention he said there was nothing he could do about it. So they basically do whatever they want with your car in order to get as much money out of you as possible. In tough financial times like this you need an honest machanic, not one that will squeeze every penny out of you. Taking your car here to be serviced here is a massive waste of money. I would rather spend a few more cents on gas than give my money to the lying, swindiling, people that work here. read more

Seem one of the employees is using peoples Giant Food gas rewards numbers and giving the points / gas discount to people other that those they belong to. When questioned the "management" said that someone must have entered my phone number by mistake at the pump. I recently moved to Silver Spring from out of State and needed to get a safety inspection for my car before registering it. I chose Aspen Hill Shell based on positive reviews and its' convenient location. I made an appointment using their convenient online option and arrived at the scheduled time. They were ready for me and completed the inspection in an hour. The station appears well run and I plan on heading back for gas and other services as needed. Being new here, from another state, I was perplexed by a few of the pumps and card readers, but the one here is very easy to use. To an older person in a new city, that is important. Its also fairly easy to find from Leisure World. AND they take the Giant points for money off gas. This is my new home gas station for sure. read more
