For my 80th birthday my daughter and her family sent me a beautiful floral display from Shell Beach Floral Design. This is most stunning bouquet of flowers and greenery I have ever seen. The flowers range from roses to gladiolus & hydrangeas and stands 3 ft. high. Thy are very fresh and the unopened buds continue to open and the display gets more lovely each day. We ended up with Shell Beach Floral as part of the package SeaVenture offers. I would have given 5 stars but there was a lot of miscommunication on all sides. The contract was not clear on what we got exactly and what the prices were for each bouquet so there was a lot of confusion and extra fees for us. When I voiced my frustration Shell beach Floral was more than accommodating and worked with us on the extra costs. I didn't get exactly what I wanted but I did get beautiful flowers and they spent a lot of time fixing them on the arch for our beach wedding. 5/6/2017 was terribly windy and they worked extra hard to make sure the flowers were perfect Part of the reasons for the miscommunications besides our unclear contract with SeaVenture, was our wedding was a destination wedding we live about 5 hours from Pismo and we had trouble getting to Pismo to meet with Shell Beach Floral. We sent photos and emails but you can only get for far with that. We ended up going down to Pismo last minute about a month before our wedding and they were great about meeting with us last minute without and appointment. Even though our flowers and bouquets were not exactly what I wanted they were still beautiful and looked fabulous with the other wedding décor we had. read more

I proposed to my girlfriend a few weeks ago at spyglass inn . I called at the beginning of the week because this floral shop was reccomend. I called with all the nerves in my voice trying to prepare for a special proposal. Nicole answered the phone and set me up with arrangments to have the floweres delivered and arranged in our hotel room so I could surprise my well now fiance. Six months before our scheduled event, I had discussed my specific floral needs 3 times with the florist designer by phone plus sent images by email of floral design ideas I was suggesting for my daughter's wedding. Amanda and staff were so lovely, polite and reassuring. But I was disappointed in the final result. None of my ideas were incorporated. Instead of a headband for an "18-month-old toddler, light and airy ('baby's breath')," I received an adult-sized floral headband that was full of heavy rose buds and not "light and airy." The toddler would not wear it. And, it looked old: the petals on the flowers were already browning. Next, an attendant's wrist corsage had no wrist band for wearing, although there was copper wire in some spiral decoration as part of the design that we were able to twist around the wrist - though very uncomfortable. Again, petals droopy and browning. Last, the bridal bouquet was awful. Flowers were browning and drooping, and the stems of the bouquet had just a few wraps of florist tape, exposing rough stems. There was no waterproof wrapping or "comfort wrapping" for the bride to hold. They were just a bunch of flowers grouped together and taped at the top, dripping with water. And, I had asked specifically for white satin ribbons draping from the bouquet so the bride could tie her deceased father's wedding ring and deceased grandmother's ring on her bouquet. There were no ribbons at all attached to the bouquet. No place to even attach ones we had on hand. Further, a "toss" bouquet was included for which I believe I was charged, but I specifically told Amanda there would be no tossing of the bouquet and do not include. The arch flowers did look lovely, yet they seemed to be the exact duplicate of the ones I saw remaining on the arch from a wedding during a random weekend visit to the venue before our event. It seems this florist just pushes out the same arrangements for each event - a mill. Nothing custom. I was very disappointed overall. read more
