Another Great Job... Valentine's Day was knocking on my door and I wanted (needed?) to do something for my wife. She likes flowers, but trimming the branches and changing the water every few days can get discouraging. Still...this WAS Valentine's Day so I placed an order with the shop where I've had the best experiences...Shell Beach Floral Design. I called on a Tuesday one week before the holiday for pickup that Friday - 4 days before the holiday. I asked for an arrangement totaling around $100 with yellow roses, lilacs (if in season) and whatever else they thought appropriate. The woman who took my order asked a few good questions and said she didn't think lilacs would be available until April, but not to worry. The result was gorgeous (see the picture). There were 3 employees when I arrived and one (possibly the owner) went out of his way to describe the flowers, put the vase in a box to minimize the risk of tilting over in my car and could not have been more accommodating. I was definitely in good hands. Although my wife was not completely surprised to see her gift, she was still amazed at how nice they looked. I called Shell Beach Floral Design hoping to surprise my niece on her birthday. She turned nine and I knew flowers just for her would make her feel special. I don't have "the eye" so when I was asked what I had in mind I just told them things about my niece. She loves cats, mint and teal blue, and the beach. She is girly but also loves to get dirty. Somehow, some beautiful way, these amazing florists captured my nieces essence in one bouquet, complete with kitty tea towel! I asked for a photo and the wondrous team at Shell Beach Floral Design sent me three photos and addressed me as Aunt Mel, just as my niece would. They also planned to hold the delivery until the afternoon so she could be home from school to answer the delivery. Later, I found out from my sister that the towel was forgotten BUT they realized so quickly that I didn't even have a chance to ask about it.
