The gas pump did not turn off. I was washing windows and could not see, probably lost 2 gallons, not to mention overflow on car. I asked the attendant 3 times for assistance. He said he'd get someone, nothing happened. read more

Shell Gas Station - a gas station at dusk - Gas Stations Near Me - Bishop, California

I don't know what everyone below is reviewing. There is no gas station at 403 N Main St in Bishop. That's near the center of town. There is one at the north end of town, at 1290 N Main St, correctly noted in a review from 2015, but it's not the building shown in the picture shown on this Yelp page. I am reviewing the station at 1290 N Main. I have been there in the last couple of years and the restrooms were large and clean. That is why I stopped there yesterday, in addition to the easy in-out when north bound. However, this time they were closed due to Covid-19. Seriously? It's been three or four months since I've been in ANY business with restrooms still closed to the public. NOT ACCEPTABLE. One star. read more

I give one star but would love to give -5 stars... worst gas station ran by the MOST rude jerk of an attendant. I guess it's hard to get good help in Bishop? I stopped in to grab gas and fill a low tire, being that I had my dogs and it was hot I figured I'd put in air first while I can keep the engine running for the ac. Well I go inside and ask Mr. Third grade educated attendant to turn on the compressor and he said "did you buy gas?", I said, "not yet, I'm doing this first". So mr brilliant one said, " you HAVE to buy gas first, ITS THE LAW". So I told him that was not true and he adamantly refused to turn on the compressor. So I spent $2 on the air compressor and Valero (with a nice attendant but a broken air compressor) got my $100in gas. So asshat moron Shell attendant. Enjoy that $2. I hope you go out of business. Never going to this business again. Ever. read more

Talk about your 100% one star reviews! I wasn't even going to waste my energy, but then I thought - Oh what the hell! We did a nice little walk up and down Main Street of this fine town and nature was calling one of us (Lol - not me thank God!), sooooo..... Hubby had to utilize their facilities being it was closer than the Jack in the Box. And in the mean while, I had the honor of waiting inside there (because it was awfully chilly outside) and pretty much looked at every single thing they had in store. After those 2 peasly minutes, I stood closer to the door & more people came in - except they kept getting more interesting (sarcasm intended). So I crept outside (the remaining 15 minutes, lol) where I felt less annoyed (unless you like hearing "Aye! Your soooo ghettoooo! babe" or watching public dry humping while trying to decide what pair of sunglasses makes you look "que sexy"). I wish with all my heart that I was being a jerk and lying about that last detail; But I must be true. Yeah, flea dip came to mind while walking away. One more note - In my experience, I can usually tell how icky a business is, especially mini marts and gas stations - not only the filthy bathrooms (don't know about this one, hubby never really elaborated), my first clue is selection of beers - Pabst, Bud, Modelo & I think the better quality one was only Corona & some 40 ouncers were the only choices.....subliminal if you get it - Again, I'm being sarcastic. read more

This place SUUUCKS!! The price on the marquis does not match the pumps! It's ten cents more per gallon @ pump with debit card (not credit)!! Also half the pumps require you to go inside! If you want a receipt go inside. Only here because VONS gas is under construction. Go somewhere else ANYWHERE else!! read more

Yeah, this place sucks. Don't bother. They won't give free tap water even when you're spending $60 on gas. Kinda dumb, too.

It is my pleasure to pass along to Shell the dubious honor of receiving the award for the worst stop my family made across two states during our recent 12 hour road trip. While driving towards home, we spotted the Shell Station at 1290 N Main St, Bishop, CA 93514. We were due to fill up on gas, and ready to use a restroom. If we had known what was waiting for us, we would have risked running out of gas instead. I took my son into the men's restroom, which smelled faintly of feces and unfulfilled dreams. The one working neon light flickered, revealing peeling paint and dirty floors. The urinal must have been built for giants, as it was at an uncomfortably high height for me to use, and I am 6'3" tall. The broken plywood stall door hung ajar, revealing a waste-streaked toilet patrolled by a small cloud of flies. What's worse, my son has not yet mastered the concept of "holding it", so we actually had to use this revolting facility. I suppose I should give credit for the soap dispenser being stocked, but the paper towel dispenser was broken and covered with so much dust that it was obvious that no one cared to fix it. As I left, I could tell by the traumatized look on my girlfriend's face that the women's restroom was not in better condition. She went on to mention that I could have seen this for myself, as neither the exterior door nor the stall door would close completely. While her restroom did have a fully stocked and operational paper towel dispenser, the sink could not be turned on as it did not have handles, making this a little unnecessary. While waiting for my son and I, my girlfriend saw four women enter and leave the restroom without actually using it due to its disgusting condition, at least one of whom called out to her husband to let him know not to actually buy any fuel, because they were leaving immediately. My girlfriend remarked that it was incredible how much better an experience she had when using an outhouse while camping the night before. I was afraid to drink coffee brewed on site, but thought I would be safe buying an energy drink. Unfortunately, my drink (which contains milk) was only mildly below room temperature. My girlfriend, being smarter than me, did not buy anything, thankfully. Come on, Shell. You're better than this. read more

I stop for a fountain drink and snack. I filled up the cup and then found there was no lids. I asked an employee if there were more lids, he came and looked and said no. I said I can't buy this without a lid I'm in a car. He said I had to, I had already poured it. I said Ives not going to and he said just a minute I'll look in back. He came back and said no lids. It would of been so easy for him to tell me to put my drink into a 44 ounce cup that had lids. But instead he told me I was a terrible customer as I walked out. The store was also very dirty. This is no way to run a business. read more

Many of you, like us, travel through this quaint town to go into & back from either Mammoth Lakes or Bishop. HEED THIS WARNING: Possible skimmer in the pumps. Pump caused my husband to put his credit card into his fuel pump, it rejected his first card at this location, and the digital pump screen read "contact your card company". So he tried a second card; the gas finally DID pump. He went to the Carl's Junior nearby & took his sandwich to eat lunch w/his fishing buddies at the park. Within 10 mins, the (first)credit card company's customer Svc contacted HIM to ask the legitimacy of a purchase that was made for $90 for gas AT that very SHELL STATION. Apparently the credit card company caught someone at the venue in the act by digital means within minutes of this credit card ID theft issue. A) kudos to the credit card co, B) thumbs way down to this gas station for not knowing someone popped a skimmer into THEIR MACHINE. All I can say is you would probably be reimbursed by your credit card company for such fraud, however, the venues these things happen at MUST be alerted, as must potential unknowing future customers, mostly out-of-area passers-through. read more

We normally go to Giggle Springs, but we now drive a diesel, so we chose Shell. The trash cans were overflowing, with trash on the ground as well. The window cleaners were empty, my husband went to ask the attendant, who was clearly on an important phone call not pertaining to work refused to help and went as far to say that he isn't required to do it. Hopefully the manager or owner sees this review and hires someone who still has respect for the customer! read more

So often, the car wash is out of order, bathrooms are filthy and, the older blond lady working the register will never get employee of the month. Shell Corp. check out this station and improve everything. You are loosing business!! read more

Stopped in to get diesel and use the RV dump. $12 for the RV dump - bit expensive but better than hauling it home! Easy in and out with a 40' toyhauler. Yes, the property is somewhat dirty, and thankfully (after reading other reviews,) we didn't have to use the restrooms, but counterperson Hoss was very helpful and polite. read more
