This place needs more credit for what they provide to the community. A clean gas station that is bright and safe. Reasonably priced gas, drinks and snacks. A convenient location not far from the freeway. Definitely worth the visit for me. I fill up my Jag, X5 and Lexus here on rotation and with their premium gas. I loved this station 10 years ago then the prices went up so high! I can't imagine how they sustained it. Suddenly the prices became competitive again so I returned. The new pumps have a tap chip reader which is fabulous! Unfortunately the pumps are not made for dummies like me and they will not flow uninterruptedly. When I lock the handle, it goes for a few seconds and stops. It's not a big deal, but I'm busy and I use these seconds at the pump to send a text or two. This is VERY frustrating. I might give it one more try since it's on my way home. read more

New owners! I saw a sign stating $19.98 for a smog check and decided to try it since it's so much closer than my usual Poway Road place. Yes, it was only $19.98 plus the mandatory DMV certificate, so the total was about $15 less than my usual. They told me they are new owners and were very friendly and efficient. They also took the time while I waited to tell me about their full service, including oil-change deals. Then, last week, we had a last-minute trip to LA and Costco gas was already closed. We were on our way to the Mobil and happened to glance at the Shell sign. It looked unexpectedly inexpensive and was cheaper than what Google Maps told me I'd be paying at Mobil. We filled up and then I later compared to my last Costco fillup. It was 10 cents cheaper! This might be temporary but it probably means the end of this gas station being a price gouger. Such a nice change after 25 years of avoiding this station. read more

Gas prices stated on the sign and the pump are not what you pay once the pump turns on. Once your card is read by the machine - pay attention to the gas prices - it generally jumps up by 30c. This to me, looks illegal. When i tried to ask the cashier about it she pretended she had no idea and that the manager is not here. read more

Gas in San Diego is expensive but this place is now one of the cheapest. It went from most expensive in the area to cheapest in the area. Even cheaper than Arco and many places in Clairemont known for cheap gas. I heard they got new owners. Hopefully they keep it price friendly. read more

I have been going to this gas station to fill up my propane tank for 10 years. Nothing but fantastic service so far. However, today, the woman behind the counter, literally rolled her eyes when I walked in, and I thought she was joking, but she was not. She could not have been more rude. I asked her how her day was going and she mumbled something that I couldn't understand. Horrific nightmare customer service. I know that sounds dramatic, but I will not be going back as long as she is there. Absolute garbage customer service. read more

Mechanics and they're buddies are rude and think they are entitled to push you around and cuss you out if you get in the way.. they didn't care I had no gas and nearly could keep the car on. And trying to get me to move when I've told them I had no gas.. they didn't care that's horrible customer service regardless if I'm getting gas. Then the rest of the employees started to join in. Guess that's how they treat disabled people. Also the car belonged to the customers!!! Like I wouldn't want my car in their hands after I saw how they treat their customers car like bumper cars driving fast through the pumps. Just moved to the neighborhood, so this is my local gas station. My first visit ever was this morning. All I needed was air for my tires. They had an air / water combo station there. It was working and there was just barely some access. Decent mini mart inside with the usual snacks and drinks. Rick(?) the owner(?) may have been the guy I dealt with. He was very patient with me as I requested to turn the air on for me not once, but threee times :( This is also the location of a busy repair and maintenance and restoration garage known as "Rick's RB Auto." All three lifts were occupied by Chevys, and two of them were classics. I have the feeling that if your classic Chevrolet needs repair that you should get some competent service here. I'll bet if you're a local car club or Chevy forum member, you already know about this place. read more

Rick in the auto body/repair shop is one of the nicest guys I've met. He's honest and will do the least to fix any problems, which saves the customer lots of money. I trust him and I'm confident he would never cheat anyone. Highly recommend! Side note: the gas station and store is separate from Ricks business. More expensive that other gas stations around, this is just very convenient because being in the confluence between Rancho Bernardo Rd and Pomerado Rd. If i can avoid, I go to other some cents cheaper, in the long run is worth it. But sometimes is just a matter of convenience. I also get coupons here for a lot of different car services, but when I went to do the smog check of my car, they told me to go somewhere else and they don't offer this service anymore. They were very nice to indicate a place in Poway to go and was very happy with the service. read more

Price for gas is so expensive here. If you just drive down to Carmel Mountain it's always 0.50 cheaper per gallon. Also the most frustrating part is they shut off the pumps at 10 and turn them on in the morning. Make the extra drive down the road. read more

I am a Hospice physician who must sometimes take calls on the road to help my patients. I had a patient who was in distress so AFTER spending $50 on gas to fill my tank here I took a phone call to call the patient and find out what was going on. After getting gas I pulled into a parking space and took the call. The call must've only been 25 minutes and the guy who works there- an older guy comes out and starts banging on my window telling me to leave because I've been there too long and the space was only for customers. I told him I had just spent $50 on gas there so I AM a customer and then I explained what I was doing (a physician helping a patient) He was unphased and only said "I have customers who spend $100 and $200 here". What an unbelievable response. Nobody sits in a car in a gas station parking lot for fun. No one was even there. You would've thought I was blocking a gas pump all day. So instead of asking if everything was OK to find out the situation he rudely just bangs on my car and tells me to get lost and he continued to bang on my car as he walked away. What a careless, unempathic person. Hope he never gets sick and needs help. Unless u are desperate for gas I would never spend my money here. read more

Literally run off by rude employee. Kept revving the engine on his old, POS car which is in desperate need of a new muffler. Literally so loud, could not complete transaction and simply bolted as quickly as possible. Clearly if you CANT repair your own car, why would we let you work on ours? Rick replaced my axle. When the seal on the axle leaked, he wouldn't even look at it though his work was still under warranty. Another mechanic fixed the leak. But it leaked again. The mechanic fixed it again and said the axle was causing the seal to leak. I took the car to Rick, and after a very demeaning encounter with him, he replaced the axle with a similar one. Then both seals began to leak. He said he fix the leaks. I asked for an original Toyota axle to be installed. Then he he refused to replace the axle or fix the leaks. My car is disabled. I need it to work. Don't go to Rick unless you don't mind tolerating the most abusive behavior you ever don't need--and it only gets worse. read more

Rick and all staff were unwilling to help change a woman's tire that had a blow out. She was on her way home from school in poway to Oceanside where she lived and she didn't have a tire iron in her car, when she asked for help they said they would change if for 15 dollars. She didn't have the money and they said "we don't work for free." Finally I had to call and spoke to them and they told me the same thing, who can't help a woman change her flat tire?? Bad service! Finally Rick did end up saying he would help after I called a couple times but that was after he told her to move the car or he will tow it. It's not always about money my friend, services aren't free I understand. But any person with a soul will help a woman change a flat tire. read more

Good gas but ridiculously overpriced by 50 to 60 cents... Don't go here unless you have less than 1 mile till empty... It's a shame because I prefer using shell gas but these outrageous prices make me go elsewhere for gas. Shame on you! read more

Super expensive ($0.40 more than others in the area) adds $0.05 for credit. Only displays cash price on sign.

There prices are higher than anyone else close by and their service is below average. Don't expect to return anytime soon.
