We didn't browse the store or grab snacks this time, just a quick reset before getting back on the highway, but even in a short visit you can feel how reliable this location is. Root beer was on the bottom of the soda fridge, but I'll let that slide. They have two self checkouts, which is great if you're in a hurry. I like to use the humans, because I won't let the machines win. Despite its smaller size, getting in/out with gas was easier than some larger stations. I can't speak to the food inside, as I try not to eat gas station food. But that's a story for another day.

So this morning when finishing our trip we stopped at this location for some gas and snacks. Decent sized location that seemed to be mildly clean. Pricing seemed on par with other gas Stations I've been too. It was pretty crowded but they worked the line really well. Overall it met our basic needs for gas, bathroom facilities and snacks. Solid experience overall.

And if you are in the mood for sweets or some other grab and go item OR....good old fashioned Stuckey's candy and pecans....step on over to the blue half of the building for those items. I managed to stop over in that part of Stuckey's as it was 90° out and ordered one, The cashier was friendly but took awhile with my blizzard. I said earlier they scaled back in their merchandise offerings. This location has scaled back as all it felt like to me was going into a regular Shell that offers Stuckey's Peacan Logs & nothing more unique. Nothing in the bathroom worked. In the shopping portion of this travel center it had the cliche Alabama shirts along with expired candy bars. I would suggest a health inspection for Slades Kountry Korner. I will not stop here next time it is pretty nasty. Consider bypassing this Slades Kountry Korner. Travel on to next gas exit hopefully it will have something better to offer.
