I have no problem with this station. Prices are reasonable, considering no gas prices are reasonable in San Francisco. There are two entrances & exits, new pumps, a convenience store that sells fried chicken, spiffy car wash, & the world's best attendant. Swung by today for gasoline as I was driving by and I was on empty to take the truth have been here all my life and I've never gotten gas at this gas station as it always just seemed too crowded . but anyway, gas is gas in that all worked out, but then I decided to get a car wash Didn't know what to expect so I paid the $12 for the plus and I just need to tell you that I will never go back there again. The car had all kinds of marks and soap marks, and some kind of liquid that I didn't know I had on the car. I don't know. I tried to clean it. I have to use soap and water still can't get it off. Ridiculous customer service and the most horrible car wash I tried in the city. Just paid $13 for their second best wash and dry they have and not only the car came out completely wet, but it also was almost as dirty as it had been before the wash (and I was my car regularly and often). Look what happened to the cloth when I started manually wiping it, as it was soaking wet. Also the "manager" Claudia said that it was not a "detailed wash" so the car was supposed to remain dirty after it -- it's just nonsense. I use automatic washes all the time and this one is the worst. Normally if you try to wipe down the exterior the cloth stays clean and there are no chunks of common dirt let on the hood right after you wash. So manager Claudia refused to let me rewash it or give me my money back, now at least we know where the root of the issue lies. read more

I was actually there twice today, unfortunately, once to fill up my son's car with my son and once to fill up my car. I only go here because I have Shell rewards. The first time we were accosted by a tweaker who just started washing the windshield without permission, then he asked us FOR TEN DOLLARS. The second time, there was a carful of tweakers hanging out and harrassing people for money, and/or waiting to rob unsuspecting folks of their wallets while they were pumping gas. I remembered today that this gas station was selling gas for $4.55. That's a steal - well, for today, at least. I ran on almost empty (with the empty light on) for a good 30 miles just to get to this station. So, of course, I make it. I swiped my credit card and started pumping away. While the station was sucking away my life savings, I washed the windows. When I came back to the pump, it had stopped at $50. I tried a few times to get it going. No cigar. I walked into the store and asked what was going on with my pump. I thought maybe there was something wrong with my credit card. The cashier told me that everyone is only allowed $50 of gas. CRAP! Was running out of gas in San Francisco and decided to pull in to get some gas . I have an older sports car which uses 91 premium gas . I can count the number of times On one hand the number of times I've used non premium fuel for this car . I was told they neither had premium or mid level range (85) , only 81 was available which was super weird to me . I decided that since I was in a pinch I would use their gas . Shortly after my check engine light came on and now my car is parked in my garage barely able to be driven . This is the lowest quality of gas I've ever put in my car to the point that it's not drivable till I probably clean the vehicle gas tank with Techron. DONOT!!!! Use their car wash!!!!. Brought my new car here to get washed left with an entire car that now needs a paint job because the bristles had something stuck on them and dented my hood and scratched the entire car. I came back the next day (after noticing the damage) only to be told that "no one else reported damage" I filed a report with them to submit to the corporation that owned the car wash just to wait a month and find out they never sent it in. After going back and forth with the company that owns the wash for two months. They finally sent a person out to view the damage on the car. The appraisal guy said "this was definitely from the car wash" sent his photos in, and the insurance company declined the claim because again. No one else reported damage that day. Smackdab in our path between the house & the 280, we often find ourselves at Mission Shell more out of convenience over price. They remain 1 of the most expensive gas stations in the city but they're just so darn convenient to the highway that we can't help but keep coming back Nice food mart has lots of roadtrip snackables & their drink cases are always nicely stocked w/ cold water & sodas Speaking of food, they're open 24hrs & even though the security doors may be shut, they will still gladly supply you w/ anything from their shop....so if you find yourself there in the middle of the night b/c the 24hr Safeway is closed ( ahem ) & you desperately need milk.....just sayin' Recently however, we also had the good fortune of trying out their drive-thru car wash & I thought it was fab. Paid $7 inside & was given a receipt w/ my code to enter at the wash. Drove right up, entered my code then drove inside while the machine worked its magic Came out of there w/ a shiny newly cleaned car. My rating is for the Car Wash and Store Owner. I don't ever get gas here, cause it's too pricey. The Car Wash is the most efficient, most inexpensive in town. However, some of the time, it does not work. The Owner, I have met. I suggested they carry Original Mozzarella Cheese Sticks, cause they were only carrying Jalapeño, and every dickhead Cashier just scoffed at me. Location is key for this Shell station. Whether I'm going home up Mission or going towards Guerrero, this station always saves me when I'm in a jam. They also have a snack mart where you can get food that will probably kill you a few days after consumption. The people working at the counter are usually nice, but there's this one woman who only speaks Spanish who refuses to stop her conversation to actually ring you up. That's kind of irritating. The thing that I hate about this station is the car wash. It sucks beyond belief. No matter what I do, I always have new scratches on my car after going through this car wash. They apparently just replaced everything and got a new wash, but I'd stay away from it. read more

The gas station part is okay. The car wash is a nightmare and a rip-off. After nearly 45 minutes in line, my $11 "the works" car wash begins. Soap goes on, brushes scrub a bit, followed by a short misting, then... nothing. It just stops. I wait for a couple of minutes; the light doesn't go on but the equipment isn't doing anything. The guy behind me honks (I understand, he's been waiting a long time too). I explain it just stopped. He told me to pull forward- I tried, but there's a rail up and it won't let me pass. He insists I have to back up and then hit the gas hard enough to clear it, and then (he assures me) it will finish the wash (no wax? no blow dry? just one weak wash?!). I shouldn't have listened. On my third attempt I was finally able to clear the guard and probably did damage to my tires and/or suspension. The drier (of course) did not go on. Plus there was still bird crap all over my car and soap spots. I probably should have waited for the guy to come out to assist me, but I felt like I had waited long enough. Plus it was really hot in there and I had my dog with me. I should have just washed it myself, but I read that because of the drought, it was best (from an environmental stance) to go to a car wash. From now on, I'll wait until I'm in San Mateo and get it done at the Shell at E Hillsdale and S Norfolk (never had a problem there) or I'll just wash it myself. F' the drought. Gas - typical SF pricing (i.e. More than neighboring Daly City) Employees - Off-and-on. For example, One guy is nice one day, yet extremely rude the next day. Cleanliness - acceptable, which means it is not usually clean. There is usually trash littered around the islands; there is always trash around the air/water and vacuum station across the way; the windshield squeegees are usually either missing or broken, and the fluid absolutely dirty. Car wash - acceptable only because there are no other options nearby. Nearest drive-through car wash is Chevron in Daly City (Across Westlake) or Shell on Geary. Otherwise, the car wash is out of service one out of three times I go. And I always have to "pre-wash" certain car parts because the car wash cannot seem to get to it, like the center rear windshield and hatch, areas around the side mirrors, and the lower parts of the car doors. The only reason I go to this gas station is either out of necessity or I need a car wash desperately. Otherwise, I go to the Shell station on 16th and Guerrero, which is farther away but the employees are nicer. read more

I liked coming here. It's a good location, price is OK, and they have a cheap car wash with fill up. But, looks like i have to start going somewhere else. Unfortunately, if you pay at the pump, it tops off at $50, which isn't a fill up at $4.25 a gallon. I can't leave my toddler in the car, go inside and guess the dollar amount to fill up, nor can I leave my card, go out, finish filling up and go back in, leaving my son in the car AGAIN to finish my transaction. Ridiculous. Not sure who's decision it was to set the max transaction at $50, but it's a completely dumb one. I'll have to take my business elsewhere. read more

I recently stop at this location to gas up when I walk in at the guy at the counter if I could use the restroom he said no I asked him if they were out of service he said no I asked why can't I use the bathroom then he replied because can't use the bathroom here you can gas but you can't use the bathroom.
