The team is very knowledgeable when it comes to the wellbeing and safety of our dogs. Our boys love getting dropped off, and sometimes, don't want to leave! Brenden, Michelle, Kimber & Madi are all great to work with and you can tell they are all passionate about what they do. Thor (my mixed breed senior pup) is always hesitant around new people and he very quickly grew fond of the team here. That's how I knew he was in good hands! Zuko (our Bernedoodle puppy) loves every chance he gets to run around at Digg's and make new dog friends. We even get to see them running around and having fun on Digg's Playhouse social media platforms. We're very thankful to have a place close to home that we can bring our boys to. I didn't think that I wanted to keep her because I was afraid of what she would be like at 1 year, dangerous. After an initial meeting with Mistie she told me a lot about Harriet's personality and why Harriet was acting the way she was. With Mistie's Basic Training package Harriet made HUGE improvements. They took him in and got him checked in no fuss. They were so caring and helpful. They had an estimate in LITERALLY minutes. Walked us thru the process (of amputation) that our cat would be going thru and gave us through aftercare instructions and what to expect. They even left a little tail nubbin. We can't thank them enough for the work they did, it was so awful and traumatic and they made it as easy of a process as possible. Most of the ones we have visited look like doggy prison, but not this one. At other shelters, all the dogs are in the same room and the barking gets so unbearable that you just want to leave. That's not how it is at the Snake River Animal Shelter. They have two separate rooms for the adult dogs, so even if most of the dogs are barking, there aren't enough that you get a migraine. What makes this place really stand out to me is that they have a room set up like a family's living room in which you can sit down, take the dog off the leash, and get to know it. The entire shelter feels very homey and I cannot say enough great things about the staff and volunteers there. UPDATE: It has been two weeks since we adopted our dog, and we just got a call from the shelter to see how things are going! We thought that was really nice that they are still concerned about our experience and how the dog is doing. As I said, the staff is amazing.
