Gorgeous store... From the outside, the boutique is pretty much nondescript, the purple siding does catch your eye, but you might mistake it for one of the bigger houses in town if you're not looking carefully. Now, once you enter you are transported to a winter wonderland of Christmas - so much so - you might forget it might be the middle of the year. In our case, we showed up just over a week shy of Thanksgiving 2023, so the Christmas spirit was starting to build up in both my wife and I. It's what made showing up at this place that much more enjoyable. They had what you would expect at a year-round Christmas shop - from the fancy to the kitschy - it was all there and I would say reasonably priced. The sales staff was super friendly and out-of-their-way helpful, it was fun just jawing with them and such. I placed an online order on 10-9-23. it was a small item but something I couldn't find elsewhere online. the money was taken from our account on 10-10-23. I received an email stating that I'd be notified when the item shipped. No email and no merchandise received. I've made numerous attempts to contact through email and voicemail messages. no response. Are they still in-business? does the shop exist? I'd like my money back. read more

Well , it is a Christmas-y store that also has other gift items. It should be called 'Made in China & overpriced." That said, if you have friends to purchase " Chinese wine lover themed" "Chinese mermaid/octopus/fish/beach" theme... "USA/America themed that is Made in China ".... Christmas/Santa/elf/ornament/tree theme GIFTS decorations. If buying a bunch of Chinese made items for your friends/family is your thing then this is your place! The prices seemed a bit high for Chinese made. Drats. I was expecting elegance, sentimental Floridian charms and quality. I would love to come back and buy stuff if it were made in sarasota, Florida or even America for that matter. That would be wonderful! Giving a Florida gift that is not Floridan... seems sad. Unbelievable range of UNIQUE gift items and holiday decor, reasonably priced. Sales staff leaves you alone so you can take in every inch of the cute stuff available - And at the same time they're also very helpful as soon as you ask a question. I loved this store. Visited during the pandemic and felt comfortable - everyone was wearing masks, not too many people in the store. Lots of beachy decorations and gifts. Some things were pricey. I found a lovely candle holder with shells that was perfect for my guest room. It was wrapped and bagged well, and staff was very friendly. Will definitely come back! read more

Wow! I am so sorry that there have been some negative reviews for Shelly's. I have visited Shelly's more than just a few times and each time it brings me to the happiest time of my life and of the year. So what if there are other gifts that aren't "Christmas...y"! They are beautiful and are all gifts worth giving whether it be for a baby shower or a wedding or just something little for the office crew. There is always something new to see and so much that I would wish to buy. Don't believe the nay-sayers. Shelly's is worth the trip but make sure that you have the time. There is so much to see that this is not a place to rush through. Promise! and NO I am not an employee, friend of the family or affiliated with the store or anyone who is. I just think it is a sweet place to go for a little hours' get away to focus on one of the best times of the year and even a few other heart felt moments in life. :) read more
