A little more flavor and spice from the meat would have helped pierce through an otherwise pretty average sweet marinara sauce, creating a nicer balance. We almost ate the whole pie, but we were able to get the last piece wrapped in foil to take home with us along with a couple pieces of bubble gum (their fun take on an after-dinner mint/snack). Once every week or two my grandmother would take me up to that Casey's and let me pick out a comic book. It was to encourage me to read. I could read fine, but I just had no interest in reading stuff I wasn't interested in in school. I still have that memory 45+ years later. Later our location added pizza and donuts. Things that most of us probably just take for granted now. It's Casey's...that's standard now. Lol The location in Amana IA... The architeture it a little different of course.
