Respectful, attentive, and thorough. Twice I've taken two different vehicles to Shenandoah Automative (a 2017 Silverado and a 2020 Pilot) with issues that other automotive service centers "couldn't replicate." The techs at Shenandoah Automotive listened to my description of the problem and conferred with a network of other techs to which they are connected and diagnosed and fixed the issues. There may be other outstanding automotive service centers in Harrisonburg or the Shenandoah Valley, but it will be a long time before I find out who they are. Pretty sad I called and spoke to the girl up front who couldn't answer my question I then spoke to the manager for a basic routine maintenance of timing belt water pump kit for 02 Civic EX manual. They insist that I brought the car in to give me a correct quote which is a bunch of bull I could have given the VIN number so they had the right part there's nothing wrong with my car I just wanted a price how much it would be to replace this it comes in a kit and they cannot assist me with that. So therefore they will probably lose my business and I will go someplace that can give me a quote. There's no point in bringing my car down there sitting around and waiting for them to look at it and paying a fee for them to look at a normal routine maintenance job I'm sure it's not the first time in belt replacement kit that they've done on a Honda Civic. read more

I went for a state inspection and they were more than helpful. I initially only scheduled the inspection, but on the spot they added an oil change and checked the tires upon request. I initially went to Shenandoah automotive to have my state inspection after moving here from a state that does not require inspections or front license plates. I made an appointment and had prompt service. When I registered my car to VA I had no way to affix my front plate by myself to the car, so I took it back to them. Not only did they do this for me....but hey did so for no charge. So far their service has been prompt and dependable. I used them multiple times for help with my car, and previously they had been very helpful and well priced. But my latest experience was very disappointing. I needed my car to pass inspection and the air bag light was on. They wanted to replace the entire airbag which would have completely broke me. I needed my car fixed in order to work and was in school at the time so money was scarce. I was thinking I would need to trade my car in for something else because the price was too much. I wanted a second opinion so I took it somewhere else, and that place fixed the car for a portion of the price. It was faulty wiring. This could imply Shenandoah Automotive trying to get more money from me or it could mean they made a mistake in saying I needed an expensive repair. SCAM I have lived in the area for over 50 years and have dealt with several repair shops during this time. Thought about trying SHENANDOAH REPAIR because it was close to my home. Simple inspection with no known problems with vehicle other than Inspection was a couple days past due. Probably why I got taken advantage of! They called me and say that the only issues are a license plate lens and a replacement bulb elsewhere but they suggest topping off the brake and steering fluids. OK why not. $351 later of which none had been quoted prior and both steering and brake systems had been flushed plus additional support that was never discussed. Are you kidding? How does Shenandoah take advantage of others...youth, college students or single moms? I was just looking for a trustworthy repair shop but not SHENANDOAH REPAIR on Erickson Ave. The Manager even fibbed by telling me she had disclosed the rates prior... sorry but why would I have agreed to such a blatant scam. My van failed inspection and I took it here for them to figure out what was wrong with the airbag and radiator. They checked everything through various tests which was fairly inexpensive and it turned out that the airbag needed to be replaced and the radiator needed to be replaced. We opted to replace the radiator ourselves, but could not do the same with the airbag so we had them fix it. While this was a huge expense for the part, the labor was very reasonable. When I picked up the vehicle, there was another issue that hadn't existed before so I took it back and they promptly corrected that issue and apologized for the error. They were exceptionally helpful, friendly, and fixed my vehicle without hesitation. Customer service like this rarely exists in the automotive world so I highly recommend this place if you need work on your vehicle. I brought a car in for state inspection, was told I needed over $2,000 in professional repairs for it to pass, brought it to another shop and turned out all it needed was about $50 and a couple of hours of my own time for some maintenance work. read more
