Soon after, I requested a quote for front brakes only on a 2021 Hyundai Palisade and was given an estimate of roughly $1,600. I sourced a complete upgraded brake set myself for $397 and completed the job without issue. Draw your own conclusions from that gap. Most recently, I brought in my wife's Subaru for tires, an oil change, and a noise diagnosis. The tires were installed, but the oil change and diagnostic were completely missed. I was told it "wasn't on the work order" and asked to bring the car back. That's a basic process failure. After returning the vehicle, I was told the issue was front wheel bearings and advised to replace both--quoted at approximately $1,000. I purchased the parts myself for $178, and standard labor time for this job is widely understood to be around 1.5 hours per side. When I asked for a clear breakdown of how that estimate was calculated--parts, labor hours, and rate--I was told their system could not provide that level of detail. That answer alone is concerning. If a shop can't explain how a four-figure repair is priced, that's a problem. I let them know…read morespecifically what diagnostics had been run at a previous shop before my son left for JMU, but they said they had to run (and charge) for their own diagnostics. I get that, so I agreed with the assumption they could resolve the issue. After review, they advised me the wrong coolant was in the car (which I have trouble believing because I've always bought the same coolant and never had an issue), they advised a coolant flush was needed, they said the fans were not working, and they let me know that there was an unrelated power steering leak. Additionally, they recommended I replace the upper and lower radiator hose. They said these were not an issue, but it was probably about time. I agreed to let them do everything except the upper and lower hose being they said they were fine and not leaking. I also agreed to a dye test which included putting dye in the power steering so they could find a leak. All of this was to the tune of roughly $1,000. A few days later they said it was ready and my son picked it up. I asked him what they said about the dye test and he said they did not say anything about. I called the shop and was told, oh yeah, he should bring it back in a few days so we can see if the dye is leaking. Unfortunately, I only found out about this because I called back in. Then a few days later the car was overheating again. My son takes it back and we are told the issue is the upper and lower radiator hoses. I asked how they were fine a few days ago when they were just a "recommendations" (that I declined), but now they are the root cause of the issue. They told me they watched it and now they see after it's been on a long time the hoses swell and leak. The explanation did not sit right with me, but I'm hours away and my 18 year old son needs his car so I let them do it for another $350. However, unfortunately again, my son drives 4 hours home a few days later and the car overheats. The shop texted me and called me that day asking how it was going and wanting me to come back and get some other work done. I responded it wasn't going well and the car was overheating still. I sent them photos of the coolant under the hood, but they stopped responding. I took it to a shop locally and they diagnosed it as a bad thermostat and the car has run smooth since. I wanted to like this shop as my brother recommended them, but unfortunately I cannot recommend them as the customer service is lacking. I'd advise to find a different shop for your car repairs.

When I had a rebuilt alternator fail about a year after replaced- they replaced it with no charge for the unit (just labor). I've also had brake work and other repairs done there with excellent outcomes. If you're looking for a reliable mechanic for your college student away from home and are worried about being taken advantage of by an unknown mechanic- rest easy. Picked truck up - white letters were not showing, and sensors not programmed. They said, well just bring it back tomorrow and we'll fix it. I have 48 Allen head bold around my rims that they said they had to remove. Looking at them when got home, several were missing, paint chipped off, and several were cross-threaded and in the wheel crooked. I removed them all to repaint, and many off them were stripped and wouldn't even back out. They used power tool to install, in aluminum rims !!! No way would I ever hand my keys to them again. Their not concerned about your business, wreckless at their crappy work, and really couldn't care less. In talking to several people, they each had their own story of their inferior work that they basically shrugged their shoulders at, and had not corrected. So... stay far away, and look elsewhere for any auto services !!!
