I had a very unsettling experience here yesterday. My son…read morehas been going to this dentist for the last 5 years, pretty much since this location has been opened. We have never had a bad experience until yesterday. Last week we went in for a routine cleaning and checkup. Once again, they had new staff working in the office area and it was another new lady doing his cleaning (seems like they go through staff quite often). This time was different, he had never had any cavities prior to this appointment. They told us that they had found 3 cavities and that they wanted to do a preventive kind of filling (SDF), which we were totally okay with moving forward so we scheduled the appointment for the following week (which brings me back to yesterday). When we went in, the lady at the front desk asked us once again if we were ok with moving forward with the treatment, which I confirmed (again). She then handed me the tablet and asked me to view and sign a form. Something told me to really read that form and I'm glad I did. I read the top portions then scrolled down, went to sign and just barely glanced up a bit more to see that they had marked down 5 teeth. When I went to the counter to ask, she confirmed that there were 5 cavities. I then proceeded to tell her that last week there were only 3 and I was confused as to why their paperwork says 5. Then out of no where, a random lady with an attitude problem popped out from the cubby in the corner and told me that she will have the doctor sit down with us in a room before we continue any further, which I agreed. Now usually I have a big attitude problem, but I really kept my cool the whole time I was there. We were called back within 2 minutes and she proceeded to take us back to a closed room that we have never been in before. The doctor came in and told me is going to take another look into his mouth and asked his staff to pull up the picture of his teeth. He then proceeded to tell me he does have 5 cavities and that maybe we didn't hear it right last week. But I would have remembered because he specifically told me it was 3 of his molars, not it's all 4 molars and 1 in the side. I then told him I was not comfortable at the moment with what was going on. He then got up and changed his attitude real quick, told me that was fine, we will cancel today and I can find a new dentist for all further appointments going forward. He then turned his back to me and closed out all the pictures and records on the computer. I then agreed with him because why the hell would I want to bring him to a place where we can't trust. I did cancel all appointments moving forward and I encourage everyone else to do the same!!! After we left, I felt so gross and I knew I needed to do something. I usually don't do this type of thing but I feel the public needs to know how they run their business. It's not right.

My 7 year old son had a tooth pulled and it was such an excellent experience. He explains everything thoroughly and makes a sincere effort to connect with me and my children at every visit. Tony at the front desk is always a pleasure. He's always smiling and happy to help. We went into the appointment with him not knowing what to expect at all and he was visibly anxious. Dr French looked at him from the doorway and asked to speak to me "mom" outside not even bothering to learn my or my sons name. She told me in the hallway that "she's been doing this a long time and she can tell me right now with how upset he is, the three teeth extraction is not going to happen today." I asked her to go speak to him and tell him what to expect and give him the chance to calm down a bit. She did not answer his questions at all, he kept asking if it was going to hurt and she wouldn't say yes or no just that once she started she couldn't stop and he would feel pressure. He said he wanted it done that day and she said it wasnt his decision, it was hers and his moms. Then she didnt ask me my opinion just told us it wasn't happening. Horrible experience at a pediatric dentistry. It's like they don't understand kids and wouldn't talk to him as a person. Ya'll ready for a superhero/save the day story? Well, here it comes…read more So, Dr. Angie and the staff at Napa Pediatric Dentistry are absolutely amazing. I hope they all move to Illinois so I can have them be my kids peds dentist location. My family and I were in Santa Rosa for a family wedding. The wedding was on a Sunday and my 23 month old daughter was the flower girl in the wedding. Sunday morning at 7:30AM my poor girl tripped into a set of stairs and knocked several teeth loose (one horribly loose). After some emergency consultation on Sunday we knew we had to wait until Monday morning in order to attempt to have someone see us. I called atleast 2 dozen Dentists, peds dentists, and periodontists within a 30 mile radius on Monday morning and every location was either closed, docs were gone or they didn't see kids. I was lost. My baby girl was in pain. And I didn't know where to turn. Fortunately, Dr. Angie's office was recommended for me to contact by one of the practices that couldn't see me. It would be over an hour drive but after they heard about our situation they vowed to try and squeeze us in. Keep in mind they had a fully booked day and were short staffed. We made the drive and they squeezed us in between patients, all while respecting the appointments and privacy of their current patients (not an easy task to do! I was impressed). They did a visual examination of my daughters teeth and knew xrays were needed right away. After Xrays, it was apparent that a tooth needed to be pulled. My wife and I already knew this and so did Dr. Angie and the team, but proper examination was needed. My poor girls teeth looked rough and it had to be done before we headed home. Dr. Angie and her team exceeded any expectation of bedside manner, love, care, comfort, and expertise that I had walking in there that day. We completed the procedure and 10 minutes later, my daughter was visibly doing better. We are home now and she is a happy girl. We have to keep a close eye on the other affected teeth, but she would not be where she is if it wasn't for Dr. Angie and her team. If you all decide to move to Illinois, I will be the first to sign up my kids as your patients. You brought more than just care to my baby girl, you brought it to all of us. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

As parents, we asked reasonable follow-up questions about our children's dental care. Unfortunately, these questions were often met with condescension, inconsistency in information, and a lack of transparency. The final straw was receiving a written communication that included a highly inappropriate and alarming term, which even if sent accidentally, significantly undermined our trust of this practice and their sense of professionalism. Because of these issues of the practice, we've decided to seek care elsewhere. This may be a good fit for families who are comfortable not asking many questions, but it ultimately was not the right fit for ours.
