Scheduling a free consultation online was super easy, and I was helped by a wonderful person, Melinda. She was charismatic, informative, and made me feel so comfortable about what I thought could be a nerve-wracking experience. I knew I wanted Dr. Tooma to perform my surgery since my aunt had her LASIK done with him 28 years ago and has been very happy with her results. Melinda made it easy to schedule my surgery at the Newport Beach NVISION center. The day of surgery was super easygoing...from check-in, my final eye exam and scans, to my 6-minute surgery on both eyes! Everyone at both the Fullerton and Newport Beach centers was so welcoming and comforting. I'm super happy with my results and would definitely recommend NVISION to anyone considering LASIK!

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Chao and his team for many years at both the Irvine and Fullerton locations - they are simply outstanding. In the past, we've done cataract surgery (for my dad), routine checkups, and most recently for myself, PRK surgery. In every instance, we've been absolutely impressed with Dr. Chao's team of professional, knowledgeable, and kind staff members. In 9/2020, I went to get a consultation about Lasik vs. PRK surgery with Dr. Chao. He patiently walked me through the relative advantages of each procedure and which was the right one for me. My PRK procedure (10/2020) was incredibly smooth; some of my friends had less than ideal experiences with other practitioners, but I'm happy to report my procedure and recovery process went perfectly. Dr. Chao and his team did an amazing job of caring for me, carefully explaining what I should expect, and always making me feel like I was being treated with the highest level of expertise. I just came in for my three-month follow-up and could not be happier I decided to work with Dr. Chao. It's rare to find such a wonderful team of medical professionals. I genuinely enjoy coming in to see Dr. Chao! My advice is to listen to the onslaught of five-star reviews (especially those from people who actually work in healthcare) and book an appointment with Dr. Chao's office. Don't go anywhere else - this is the type of care we should get from every single doctor.

Positive review. 4-months Post-surgery OD:20/20 and OS: 20/15…read more I think many of you reading reviews right now are going back and forth about having vision correction surgery. Some of you might be like me and have extremely high myopia and want the vision freedom. From my experience, I researched ICL surgery since 2019. Once EVO ICL was FDA approved, I started looking for a surgeon for advice and see if I was a candidate. Before choosing IQ Laser Vision, I had gone to a different surgeon and he did say I was a EVO ICL candidate, however I was not impressed by him. I was later referred to IQ Laser Vision, where they contacted me and scheduled an appointment to see if I was a candidate. Their multiple offices made it easy for me to go meet with an advisor and doctor. However, with personal reasons, I was unable to get the surgery done during that year after that initial consult and going through their state of the art arcscan (apparently they're the only office that are using this technology to make sure to see if your eye has enough space/vault...very cool). Fast forward March 2026, I contacted IQ laser vision again in hopes that maybe I can ask them for another consult. Again, the advisor walked me through, doctors did their check up, arcscan again (still cool) and I was able to schedule my surgery. It was an honor to have Dr. Robert Lin be available to do my EVO ICL surgery. He was incredibly patient with my questions, listened to my story of researching this procedure, and I knew I was in good hands from someone who had worked on so many eyes. Perhaps my favorite part aside from the whole journey of vision correction and having 20/20 vision is that you can feel how much Dr. Lin cared for his patients. He called me personally to make sure my first day post surgery was ok. And even after 4 months later, he contacted me to make sure I was ok and how I am liking my vision. For those who are like me going back and forth about vision correction, I highly recommend making an appointment/consult to see if you can be a candidate. From there you can move forward and make that decision. I know it was later than I anticipated for myself, but I can truly say I am happy having that peace of mind that I can wake up and see, not have to worried about my glasses/contacts during a possible evacuation (fire or earthquake), and do water sport without fear of infections if I wore my contacts. That mental peace is probably the second to best part of this journey.

Overall, I am genuinely so happy with the results of my EVO ICL surgery--waking up with clear…read morevision has been truly life-changing! From my initial consultation through speaking with the counselor and completing all the intake steps, the customer service was fantastic. Every single employee you interact with out front is so warm, friendly, and welcoming. During all the preliminary scans and tests, the staff members were so gentle and reassuring, explicitly reminding me that having a strong, involuntary reflex to squeeze my eyes shut is completely natural and normal. The only small hiccup leading up to the day was that I didn't find out my surgeon's name until I arrived for the procedure; while everyone on their medical team is clearly exceptionally qualified, knowing who would be performing the surgery ahead of time would have added that extra layer of comfort. Still, I walked into surgery day feeling well taken care of and deeply grateful. :3 What surprised me most was the jarring contrast once I was behind closed doors. While the front-facing team is wonderful, the pre-op technician prepping me for surgery was basically the exact opposite. Because technicians in the back are behind the scenes and rarely mentioned in public feedback, several people urged me to write this review so others are aware. Even after my numbing and dilation drops, my eyes naturally wanted to close when forced open. This pre-op technician became visibly impatient with my reflex and used more force rather than give me a few seconds to let me relax my own reflex. While I don't recall her exact words, the message communicated was that if I couldn't keep my eyes open, the surgery wasn't going to be done right. This happened for BOTH eyes where I heard the other technician preparing with the surgeon stop what they were doing to make sure everything was OK on this end of the room. Hearing that theme of this will be my fault if anything goes wrong while trying to prep myself for the surgery, feeling the oral sedative hadn't fully quelled my nerves, triggered this intense anxiety. Basically, the whole time I was awake, I desperately wanted to follow instructions to look up and relax my eyes, but I was made to feel like I wasn't doing things "right" before the surgery began. It made the entire process excruciatingly nerve-racking, and I sat there spiraling with regret, thinking I never should have gone through with an elective, "nice-to-have" procedure if the potential consequences were lifelong blindness. The situation escalated right before the procedure began during the standard timeout. This same pre-op technician read off the wrong eye specifications and dimensions for the eye we were starting with. Frozen in fear and second-guessing myself, I hesitated to speak to trust the process aka assuming I had to trust the clinical team and their 300,000 success stories and I would be another one. Thankfully, the primary surgeon immediately caught the discrepancy and corrected it on the spot. Right before the doctor started the surgery, I told him hearing the wrong eye measurements was scary, he reassured me that they double check everything. While I am profoundly grateful for the surgeon's attentiveness and skill--which ensured the actual surgery went smoothly--having a pre-op technician read incorrect eye measurements after reprimanding me created acute distress. I spent the rest of the procedure awake and terrified of what could have happened had the surgeon not caught the error. I felt distressed about it the whole day after the surgery but my priority was my own healing post-op. Nonetheless, I did speak up at the next day follow-up. I brought the issue to my counselor, who escalated it to her manager. While the manager offered a sincere apology and provided some extra eye drops, a company of IQ Laser Vision's size and caliber should have done more to substantively address a clinical safety and bedside conduct issue of this magnitude. A comped bottle of drops and a verbal apology do not undo the psychological distress of that day. My results are great to never have to put on and off my contacts daily and being able to see ALL THE TIME. But.. whenever people ask me how my surgery went and whether I'd recommend IQ Laser Vision, this is still the defining part of the experience that immediately comes to mind.

First attempt was just before lunch, voice mail with greeting stating on odd address 1601 E Chapman... I hung up not knowing the true situation at this point. I tried again a few hours later at 330 pm. I confirmed my appointment but learned Dr. Mike's schedule is Tu-Th and he did join AFEC. The receptionist did tell me that I needed to change my appointment because it landed on a Friday. So I told her I'd call back after I reviewed my calendar. I was fortunate that I was going to be down in the OC area to have a get together dinner. So I called back to officially change my appointment to a Tuesday. I got the low down from the office manager at AFEC about Mike's move. But I won't spill it here. I hope Dr. Mike is happy with his new place. I'll definitely give AFEC a review as well in October.

To the administrative staff, please don't give lead times with utmost certainty if you weren't given a certain arrival time from the manufacturers or vendors you purchase from. I had my appointment in early June to get new contact lenses. Upon leaving they told me my trial lenses would be in within a few days. It's more than 1 month past now. I got an email saying they'd ship out July 15, so I called on the 16th to get an eta and they said WITH CERTAINTY, they'd be in within a few days. Well it's been more than a few days. I even doubted the person I was talking to but she seemed positive. Come to find out, they don't actually get arrival times, so.... I understand delays and feel I've been patient enough and really didn't want to have to write a review. But just don't say you know when you actually don't know. That way I could've ordered elsewhere and saved myself some time.

From my initial consultation through surgery and every follow up visit, the entire experience was exceptional. Everything was organized, efficient, and professional. Dr. Feinerman and his staff treated me with kindness, respect, and genuine care, and I always felt well informed and completely at ease. Looking back after 10 years of excellent vision, I knew I wanted the same level of expertise and care when it was time for my next procedure. When I recently learned that I needed refractive lens exchange (RLE) surgery, I never considered going anywhere else. Returning to Dr. Feinerman after 10 years was an easy decision because of the confidence and trust he earned during my first experience with him. My preoperative appointment was incredibly thorough. Dr. Feinerman performed a comprehensive examination, carefully reviewed my results, and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. He made sure I knew exactly what to expect, and his knowledge, experience, and attention to detail immediately put me at ease and reinforced that I had made the right decision. I had my first RLE surgery yesterday, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. Seeing Dr. Feinerman before and after the procedure was incredibly reassuring, and my postoperative appointment today confirmed that everything is progressing as expected. Because my experience has been so positive, I have already scheduled surgery for my other eye. What truly sets Dr. Feinerman apart is not only his exceptional surgical skill but also the confidence he inspires in his patients. He never rushes through appointments and takes the time to answer every question thoroughly, ensuring you feel comfortable every step of the way. His professionalism, meticulous approach, and commitment to achieving the best possible outcome are evident in every interaction. His office staff deserves recognition as well. They are welcoming, organized, efficient, and always willing to help. Every interaction has been very pleasant, and every appointment has been handled professionally and efficiently. Your vision is priceless, and choosing the right surgeon is one of the most important healthcare decisions you'll ever make. Dr. Feinerman combines exceptional surgical expertise with integrity, precision, experience, and genuine compassion. He is the kind of surgeon who makes you feel confident from your very first consultation and continues to earn your trust every step of the way. After trusting him with my eyes twice over the past 10 years, I can say without hesitation that I would recommend him to my own family and closest friends. If you're looking for an experienced, skilled, and compassionate eye surgeon, you can feel confident knowing you're in the hands of someone who is dedicated to excellence and committed to providing outstanding care from your first consultation through your final follow up. I'll be back to update this review after my second surgery and let everyone know how everything turned out.
