10/10 recommend! I had my LASIK surgery here about 6 months ago so I wanted to give some time for my eyes to heal before giving a review. My sister went here a year ago and recommended me. They provide a free consultation and I was a bit nervous that I wouldn't be a candidate because I had such bad eye prescriptions (R eye -7 and L eye -5.75). Thankfully I qualified and it was because my corneas were thick! yay! I waited a year later just to save up and use all of my contact lenses, but I wish I had done it sooner! I had to schedule another appointment where they ran all the tests to make sure I was still a good candidate and prepared me for surgery day. Surgery day took about 3-4 hours because I had to go through the same tests to make sure there were no mistakes. The actual surgery took about 15 minutes. They were very patient with me and guided me through everything. Of course, I felt nervous, but I believe that if they didn't have such a good staff, I would have been way more anxious! After the surgery, I went home with goggles and pain medication but I was able to see so clearly immediately! I was so excited! They then scheduled a check-up appointment the next day to make sure the surgery went well. They also had multiple checkup dates (a week, 3 months, 6 months, and a year later, I think?) to make sure your eyes are healthy and answer any questions. The experience was great, the staff is super polite and walk you through the procedure well. While you wait for you surgery they have plenty of snacks and play movies for you and your driver. The optometrist is very kind and the ophthalmologist that does the surgery is methodical to ensure the best results. I had a prescription of -6.5 and the next day I had 20/30 vision. They said my eyesight would come to 20/20 in a matter of days since my eyes and brain have some serious adjusting to do for my new eyesight. I'm on my first day of recovery after getting LASIK in both eyes, and so far everything has been great! My vision is 20/15, and I don't really have any dry eyes. The only thing is some slight halos that should go away. The first 8 hours were a little rough with the recovery but I was able to sleep through most of it. ~20/20 Vision in 2020 After 20 Years of Wearing Glasses~ For 20 years, I wore glasses. Without them, I would get super dizzy. I had an astigmatism in my right eye with a prescription of -3.00, & my left eye had a prescription of -2.75. During that time, a nebulous daydream of life without glasses would often linger in the back of my mind. I would often think, 'what would it be like to bike, to run, to lift weights, to swim, to play basketball, to jump, to dance & vibe-out at music shows, essentially to live my life, all without the need of prescription glasses?' I would then dismiss this thought as being nothing short of a fanciful pipe-dream because I was not sure that I would ever feel brave enough to go through with it, or save enough money to cover the cost, or have the time at home to heal from the procedure. But, no matter how many years passed, the lingering thought constantly remained seared in the back of my mind. Then, this Coronavirus pandemic hit. So, I had to drive less, could no longer eat at restaurants, attend shows, or you get the picture.... Without planning it, this worldwide crisis facilitated my objective to better save for this fateful procedure. Additionally, as an educator, my classes were moved to the online format. One day, I woke up and as usual, I could not make out the time on my clock. In fact, I had lived twenty years without the ability to read my clock. After thinking it through, I remembered that all of the situational dominoes were lined up, I had driven over an hour, and my desire for visual corrective surgery would forever remain seared in the back of my mind. So, based on everything that I had read, how I had been treated by the staff and doctor, right then and there, I decided to commit to the surgery. I stocked up on what I needed and turned my room into my very own pharmacy, with pills, eye drops galore, and a white board to systematically track my dosages. I knew that part of the recovery period signified that I would not be able to see well for around two weeks. So, I pre-purchased a few audiobooks on my 'Google Home Mini' device. I stuck with the books that I loved as a kid like Holes by Louis Sachar, etc. But, I digress, haha. On September 10, the fateful day arrived. I made it to the practice a bit nervous, but still kind of excited. After more thorough tests and a small dosage of Xanax, I met the surgeon, Dr. Pham, whose warm demeanor filled me with comfort and confidence in his ability to restore my vision. As with many pivotal moments in life, the moment of surgery arrived, anticlimactically. By that time the Xanax had kicked in, so I felt so chill and ready. I did my Lasik surgery at the Orange County Lasik Institute at the beginning of this year, and this has been a life-changing experience. Ever since I was a child, I wasn't able to see. I would sit at the back of the class and squint to try and see the white board. As a result, I failed most of my classes and no one knew why until I finally got my eyes checked in 3rd grade.
