Their square footage popcorn ceiling removal pricing was fair and outbid other local offers. They were transparent that popcorn ceiling removal is a very messy job and it would require me to vacate the premises during their projected work schedule. Some of the drywall repair work required extra labor due to discovery of poor workmanship from previous companies but was priced accordingly. There was also a supplier issue with defective protective materials that caused them to miss deadlines. Despite setbacks, they aimed to complete the project to no additional cost due to supplier issues. There were significant messes left behind but we worked together in the cleanup effort. They made sure to return anything removed during their work back to their original spots after completion. We've also regrettably discovered some floor damages that most likely occurred during popcorn ceiling removal efforts, but apologies were made and the flooring was patched prior to payment. Overall, I am happy with their work and would recommend them.

Go ahead, call five contractors. How many answer their phone? How many even respond? You probably already know how many. 1? 2, maybe? This project was a little annoying because I needed it done immediately. Also, it involved working in conjunction with a separate contractor that was working in the home. I was worried that it'd be hard to find a contractor to complete in time. I felt bad having such an immediate need but I wanted to call Billy first. Billy answered, with tools in his hands, mid job. I explained what I needed. He asked the right questions. We setup a time to meet and like clockwork, he showed up on time. Always friendly. Always informative. Bam! Work scheduled. I left Billy the lockbox code and he estimated his finishing time. I called him around that time to coordinate getting him paid. And, of course, the work was already completed. Not only was the work completed sooner than expected which allowed the entire project to progress faster than expected, but it was done perfectly. Which is a word I rarely use. But from the precision of the work, the cleanliness of the work, coordination with other contractors, quality of products he used...and yes, the value of everything involved...perfect! I'm not sure if I'll ever need contracting services in the Yuba/Sutter area again. But if I do, I'm only making one call. The same call you should make. As I was researching contractors Billywood certainly stood out. The name pulled me in but the excellent service made me stay. Billy and his team worked rapidly and thoroughly to replace my fence and the structural integrity of my garage, in extreme heat I might add. I received constant communication and updates, a new fence and restored garage wall in better condition than before the accident! Every neighbor that walked by commented on how lovely the new fence looked. His estimate was spot on and he made us aware of any concerns he had along the way. For example the gate screws were not the correct kind or placed correctly and he changed them so the gate is now very secure. He was willing to seal the fence so it doesn't warp in the sun and heat. His estimate came in much lower than any of the other estimates we received and his work was stellar.

I incorrectly assumed the hourly rate would fall within the parameters of a reasonable rate for an unlicensed handyman. Our bill for 15 hours of work was nearly $2,000 (minus some materials and small trailer rental) with a fixed hourly rate of $130 per hour. Although I appreciate George helping us out with our list of miscellaneous handyman items, we would not have proceeded with the work had we known that the hourly rate was so high.
