I don't know what other commenter's problem with the montessori but I loved this montessori. Nazish (director) is very nice and she makes sure you are well informed and works well with all the concerns and communicates well with any and all issues with a smile. To address the issue: there was a director (who was there about 2 years), and has since been let go (late 2024). She wasn't great. The new director, Kaylen, is fantastic - professional, strives for parental involvement, brings structure. My child attended four years. I can't say enough about the teachers; they give so much of themselves to the students. They work so hard on their curriculum. They love the children. We've found such a sweet little community in this school. I always tell friends that it's a hidden gem, but it shouldn't be! It's centrally located, right by the med center and incredibly convenient for parents who work there. The building has large classrooms, two playgrounds, a gym, a library, a sanctuary, and a large communal area for events. So consider this a review to address the haters. But also one of praise for such a special little place that I would hate to see suffer because people never gave it a chance.

The campus is great, and they take full advantage of it. They have two playgrounds, one for big kids and one for younger kids. If it's raining, the kids still get to move around by either going on buggy rides through the building or playing in the big gym. They did tons of arts and crafts, and I cherish all the handprint art. After we moved across town we still drove all the way to FCS for 10 months, that's how you know it's good! They are very safe and cautious in terms of COVID pandemic rules -- and when the case load gets better for a prolonged time, then they reassess. One of the things my family has most appreciated is their COVID policy. All teachers wear masks, and all kids above a certain age (3ish) wear masks as well -- aside from when eating & optionally when playing outside. They have chickens outside, a flower and vegetable garden, and rabbits and 2 aquariums inside. Right now, some of the classes are raising caterpillars into moths and butterflies, and they have just harvested some of the chicken eggs and will get to incubate them and watch them hatch! Such great experiences for kids of all ages to have. They provide gourmet lunches made in-house from fresh ingredients, many of which are organic. On Friday afternoons, you can also buy some of their house-made goodies -- they have an assortment of baked goods, desserts, soups, and savory/main dishes. If you are late on Fridays, they may sell out of certain items.

Since the owner/manager decided to post their comment 7 months after my review, I will go ahead and post my update. We can all agree that kids may not be comfortable to daycare on their first few days/weeks. This is why we had decided for our daughter to be at computer kids for half day (4 hrs) as a slower transition to get comfortable and not 1 hour. (If we wanted our daughter to be there for just an hour a day then we would ask for hourly rates and not pay weekly rate) - I picked up my daughter 1 time after being there for 2 hours and that was just because I had finished my work early. I was also promised video recordings for that entire week our daughter stayed there to prove she was not mistreated. (That never happened) - I even told the owner if that was not true then I would immediately delete this review or post an updated review of my case of a wrong interpretation. But yet to see any video as promised. Once we dropped from computer kids, we took a week break and found another day care. We were afraid but it only took 2 half days for our daughter to get used to this new day care. She is now 3 years old. She talks like a non- stop parrot but she is happy and looks forward on going every morning. This is the updated review I had declined to post a month ago - We were at Shipley's donuts located across the street from computer kids. She then told me "daddy there's my daycare." I was surprised she remembered the place and her last comment was "Daddy I don't want to go there - they pow pow me on the butt" I was puzzled how kids can just make surprising comments. I will never know if computer kids spank their kids or not. But as a parent, if my kids tell me that their being spanked, I'm sure we would take this scenario as a grand assault.

I was…read moreparticularly interested because of a few reasons first was they were a Christian based learning center, second they were close to my home. On his first day I was never introduced to his teacher or ever seen his classroom.In the morning you drive up and an employee there gets the child out the car and takes him inside then when picking up we call when on the way they get the child ready and you meet them at the door and you put your child in the car. The ladies doing the drop off and pick ups are not the teachers in order to find out who his teacher was I had to ask one of them they just said her name and what she looked like. When he started he was a little over 18 months old so he was in the roo class and was sent him with a "cuddle gram" basically a paper saying what he ate and how many diaper changes he had as well as his nap time. Breakfast was always Cheerios & snacks were always crackers not at all fulfilling the only meal fulfilling was lunch which was usually chicken gravy a fruit and veggie or something similar and on fridays the parent brings the child's lunch. His first 3 days he cried as expected for his first time ever attending daycare as the time went on it got better he stopped crying at drop off and was excited to be picked up he would run to me smiling and with open arms at pick up time. If there was ever an incident they would provide a paper saying what happened and you sign it while he was in the roo class that happened a few times not a whole bunch then comes when he moved classes to Disney class 2 year olds and with teacher Haley Farmer who again I had to ask to meet and ask how the day was structured. In her class there was 9 kids including him however in previous class there was 5 with Ms.Gina and Haley was giving me incident reports every week sometimes multiple times a week of him being bit, or hit with a toy sometimes I would just see bite marks but not even be informed of them I complained and sent her a message she said she would look into it. Then he was hit so hard on his face with a toy it left a Mark for days I complained, he came up with a soaking wet pamper I complained, two times he was not cleaned right after changing his diaper and I also complained I started asking more questions then on a Wednesday Lydia the director calls me and says he has had behavioral problems and he bit the teacher and I had no clue ! I messaged the teacher apologizing saying I would work with him and she never replied to me but before she always would so that was strange. all this was news to me because every or most incidents prior to this he was the one being bullied not the aggressor but now she says it is him. Then Lydia calls me at 11:13 a Thursday and says he has to be picked up they can no longer care for him she said he pulled a kids hair, chocked him, and head bunted him and says she has a video of it and I ask to see if the video and she never provided it to me said she had to get owners approval I still have yet to see the video. When I arrived to pick him up he was not in the office like she claimed she was actually napping and he was awoken from his nap to be sent home.I believe they kicked him out because I was complaining too much and I've transferred him to another daycare "Star Montessori" and his teacher said he hasn't been aggressive at all just hyper I don't claim he's an angel I know he throws tantrums but he's 2 and learning he doesn't bite or hit at home so that was far fetched to me. My husband kept urging me to change hum to another because along with all this since he was moved to another class he cried everyday at drop off and would be starving when he was picked up. I had to have a snack for him as soon as I got him in the car because he would be asking over and over for "snack" or "milk" I truly believe they didn't feed him or the children enough and not at all once while he was there did he come up with any type of biblical art work or teachings it was a lot of coloring and painting but they claim to be faith based but that is just a front in my opinion and I personally see this as a blessing and if it was meant for him to attend there he would still but God knows what's best for me and my family so I glorify him in it all it probably saved my son a lot of pain and suffering. If they can not keep supervision of 5-9 kids in a classroom biting my child hitting him or him scraping his finger then they need to re- evaluate their staff because that is just poorly done.

They loved the experience, their friends and the teachers at MLI! The school is a very small private school with 2 campuses - one for the infants and toddlers, second for the elementary and middle schools. They are not the fanciest school which means they are less expensive than most other private schools, but the quality of the education is very good. I still send my kids here during the summer and on some days when HISD is randomly closed, and the kids who regularly attend MLI are clearly ahead of my kids in the curriculum...by a lot. The teachers are well-balanced in a variety of academic topics, STEM, chess, etc.. They bring in outside vendors for things like soccer. Now I will say their parent communications could use improvement. There were multiple times when I was only given 1-2 days of notice to bring in some special supply, which is hard for a working parent. I also have trouble getting responses from the office staff, so I resort to emailing the owner/principal directly. Overall, the teachers are kind and clearly love the kids. The academic quality is superb. My kids still love going to MLI, so for those reasons, I give MLI 5 stars.

Teachers are very good and my family had experience with age group 3-5 (preK 3 and preK 4-5). Staff is generally kind, as long as you are completely cooperative. A parent cannot speak up against or question anything. We did encounter some behavior issues that took the school weeks to address and multiple meetings with the administrator as my child kept coming home crying he was being picked on. My family has supported the school throughout, and loved it. Then in fall 2021 The school took action removing my son after registration, involuntarily, due to the administrator (who is also the owner of the school) refusal to accommodate to my 5-year-old's special needs. My child who was accommodated the previous year was told he may not return unless he follows new school regulations, where elsewhere considered illegal, regarding wearing masks when my child is medically exempt. The administrator waited until 3 days before the new school year started which left me without any other options but homeschool as registration closed everywhere else for the school year. These actions portraited the administration as unprofessional, careless to the consequences of their actions and cruel to a child that only wanted to come back to his friends and teacher. Then when I called the school to ask to collect my son's items that were left for him to return, his teacher blocked my number and hung up the call in my face. I am questioning the administration's ability to teach the Montessori values when they cannot follow them themselves. They surely are unable to teach by example. I would say, that if your child doesn't require any accommodation, if you do not mind supporting a school that discriminates and refuses education to a young child that is medically unable to wear a face cover and are not worried about the values they teach by example; this would be a great choice.
