This "Welcome Center" is quite spacious, with quite a variety of vendors for all your needs. Some of my favorite? A Dunkins, a Panda Express, and even a Wendy's! The restrooms here are not "Bucees" clean (but c'mon who can compete??), but compared to other pit-stops, this place is second-tier. A great place to stretch, walk-around, and recharge for the remainder of your trip. This round --- I only stayed for about 15-20 minutes, and decided to try the new "Applegreen Tap&Go" Coffee Stations. One is located at the very entrance of the building, and one towards the back (near the food court). I ordered an "Iced White Mocha", and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. It did what I want coffee to do, taste good and have caffeine! In any case, if you're in Delaware, make it a point to stop-by!

It had the check-in table and some photo ops. There's also a balcony that you can go out and look onto Independence Mall. The main space is large. There were a lot of tables, but it didn't seem crowded. Bathrooms are available on the first and second floor. They are clean. There's also a gift shop on the first floor and information in a little café along with a theater and some exhibits. It is a great addition to the historical area

Side note- while driving through Lancaster it was cool to see the random horse and buggy crossing the street while I was at a red light. I also saw large farms with horses and cows. So back to the Discover Lancaster Center - great small musuem like center with Amish artwork and crafts. You can also purchase souvenirs and they have restrooms.

It had rained the night before so the trails were a little muddy and the wet leaves made things slippery so I stuck to the paved trail. One trailhead has restrooms and picnic tables. They allow bow and arrow deer hunting season but it is clearly marked. A family of deer crossed my path right in front of me. You can see one deer jumping across the path in one picture. The mom and baby crossed in front of me and I could hear rustling in the woods so I waited patiently for the dad to appear. Very peaceful. When the trails are not muddy, make sure you explore off on them. This is part of the Delaware Greenway system - make sure you check out all the other paths.

After getting up around Lancaster, PA - I was mixing up whether U.S. 30 East or U.S. 222 North took me to the Pennsylvania Turnpike/Interstate 76 East. I saw a sign for a "Visitor's Information Center." "Perfect," I thought. I pulled in. Waited my turn (two other folks in line in front of me) and the lady working the counter pulled out a couple of free maps, asked me where I was going, highlighted my route, discussed them with me, and made a couple of route recommendations. They have tons of brochures here on area attractions for folks to peruse and take with them. There are also restrooms, and coffee available. I ended up backtracking a couple of miles west on U.S. 30 and took U.S. 222 North to the PA Turnpike. Great service - and friendly!

The building is located along the water at the inner harbor and has glass windows looking out to the harbor so the surroundings are bright and beautiful.
