It needed new handlebars and I wanted the seat and brakes fixed. They recommended I sell it and buy a different bike that I liked. I told them I liked this one and wanted to fix it. That should have been my first clue. They gave me an estimate, which I agreed to, and I left a deposit. I picked it up the next day, brought it home, and took a test ride. The brakes slow the bike down but don't stop it. I looked at the brake pads/shoes and they're the same dried-out ones it came in with. I called Pro Pedals thinking it was an oversight but no. They didn't replace them because "it's an old bike and they didn't think I'd want to spend the money". Um, I wouldn't have brought it in if I wasn't willing to spend the money. They then argued with me that the bike is old and the parts are old. ???? Well, yeah, maybe that's why they should have been replaced. They could not give me any reason for not fixing the brakes except that the bike was old and they didn't think I wanted to spend the money. They did eventually offer to replace the brakes for free but I was furious by then and have no desire to go back. I've been there before and had no problems. I honestly think that, because it's not a top of the line bike, they just didn't want to be bothered. If they thought I would be worried about the cost, they certainly could have called me and asked. But the didn't. They just sent me home with an unsafe bike, simply because it's old. They even told me they don't usually ask for a deposit but they did this time because it was an older bike.

I got a front flat yesterday on a ride. I was extremely bummed. I really needed to ride my bike…read more(cue Queen). Fairmount Bicycle was the closest bike shop. I called to make sure they were open and could help, and someone answered the phone right away and was very kind and helpful. I walked my bike to the shop, and when I entered, I was greeted warmly and professionally. I disclosed that I really needed to ride my bike, and they understood and told me that they would try to salvage my ride. Thirty minutes later, my bike was ready, and they were once again very kind and helpful with the checkout process. And, they did in fact salvage my ride, for which I am so grateful. During the checkout process, another person with a flat came in. The staff was warm and professional toward this person. I heard someone mention a "community repair." I did not know what that was, but later, I looked up their website and learned more about the community repair fund as well as the ethos and history of the shop. What I read confirmed that these are cool humans doing cool things and supporting their community. I do not live in Fairmount, but because of my experience yesterday, I would definitely consider taking my bike there again. To the humans of Fairmount Bicycle, thank you so much! And, Happy Pride!

Deceptive business practice and charges customers for a business decision they made on their end…read more On 5/21/26, I placed an order on the merchant's website for a Zooz Ultra Urban Gen 4 electric bike for a total purchase price of $2,595.00. Following the order submission, the business reached out requesting that I provide additional verification documents to confirm my identity and credit card ownership to mitigate fraud risk. I fully intended to complete this transaction and promptly complied, providing the exact documentation requested. No further information or follow-up was requested by the merchant. Instead of processing the order, the business proactively and unilaterally cancelled the transaction. While the merchant has the right to refuse service, they deceptively withheld $130.00 from my refund, returning only $2,465.00. The merchant is penalizing me by applying a 5% "cancellation fee" to an item that was never fulfilled, never shipped, and where the cancellation was entirely the merchant's choice. I should not bear the operational cost of their decision to cancel a transaction that I actively tried to fulfill and verify. The withholding of these funds under the guise of a return or cancellation policy for an unfulfilled order is deceptive and an unfair business practice. I would not recommend doing business with them.

They were able to provide a large car and spacious enough to accommodate my family of 5 and all of our suitcases. Our driver, Arif, was prompt, courteous and helpful. As stated, the car was large and had more than enough room. Water was provided. They could not accommodate our car seat request but I'm not sure if that is something that could have been provided if the request wasn't so last minute. If you're looking for a car service I highly recommend De Limo because they are reliable and professional. They are on the pricier side but at least you know you will be taken care of.
