South Florida Ducts

South Florida Ducts

A real pleasure having South Florida Ducts replace all of our home's old leaky ducts and vents…read more From the fair and transparent pricing (no surprises!), the timely scheduling, the great communication, to the professional, clean, and properly engineered install, it was a great experience for what was a dreaded necessity. I highly recommend Jeremy and his team: Robert, Amit, Wayne and Ronaldo. Hard, hot (heat of summer) work done right.

These people are really on their A game. I called several AC companies and none got back to me…read more These folks got back to me within the same day, and sent someone to inspect the attic within 24 hours. They told me the inspector would be there between 9AM - 12PM. He was there at 9:01AM. He let me know that my ducts were BUSTED. Like really bad. Gaps everywhere, broken stuff. The "Miami special" he called it. Showed me videos of all the issues to verify what he was saying. Although at first I thought the quote they gave me was a bit on the higher end, after I saw everything they did I've changed my mind and think the quote was honestly very fair. They replaced all the ducts in my attic, hung them (they were lying on the floor before...), replaced all the vents, covered my entire house in plastic, added an air return to a bedroom, picked up all the debris when they were done, and did all that in just like 3-4 hours. Honestly these folks are incredible. Shoutout to Amit. Such a friendly and funny guy. He took the time to explain to me all the issues he was seeing and why they mattered. He was the first one in a line of guys to finally explain that the master bedroom was so hot (5+ degrees hotter than rest of the house) because it didn't have a return. Once they installed that it feels like I have a new house. I've never slept better.

Cajun Bear AC Repair

I wanted to support a local company that had been highly recommended by a friend, but unfortunately…read moremy experience was extremely disappointing. My AC system was struggling to cool my home. After inspecting it, Cajun Bear recommended replacing the evaporator coil. Before spending over $2,300 on the repair (plus additional service charges), I specifically asked whether replacing the coil would solve my cooling problem or whether I should replace the entire system. I was told in writing that replacing the coil would fix the cooling issue, and because I couldn't afford a new system, I relied on that recommendation. They also offered me a payment plan for the coil repair, which made that option financially possible. The new coil was installed, but the system never performed as expected. Within months I was paying for additional service calls. During one visit they cleaned the "dirty" coil that they had recently installed and stated there had been no filter protecting it. I was confused because a filter had been installed during a previous visit, and I certainly did not remove it. Later, when the system continued struggling to cool, I was charged again for refrigerant because I was told the original technician "might not have added enough for the warmer months." That explanation alone raised concerns for me. During that same visit, I was suddenly informed that a large opening around my air handler was allowing hot attic air into the closet and affecting system performance. I was then quoted hundreds of dollars to seal the opening. My question was simple: if this was such a significant issue, why wasn't it identified before recommending and installing a $2,300 coil replacement? The company had inspected my system multiple times. Today, despite spending approximately $3,000 with this company, my AC still struggles to cool the home during South Florida summers. It often runs continuously for hours, and indoor temperatures still reach 79-81 degrees while trying to maintain 75. Guests at my rental have also experienced these issues. The most disappointing part of this experience came when I attempted to resolve the matter professionally. I asked the company to either refund my money or send a senior technician to thoroughly diagnose why the system still wasn't working properly after the expensive repair. Instead of working toward a solution, I was told that my system was basically "garbage" and that I should have done my own due diligence before authorizing the repair. That was difficult to hear after relying on their professional recommendation and written assurance that replacing the coil would solve the cooling problem. I understand that older HVAC systems can have multiple issues, and I wasn't expecting miracles. What I expected was an honest assessment before investing thousands of dollars into a repair that did not resolve the problem. If the system was truly beyond economical repair, I wish I had been told that from the beginning so I could have put that money toward a complete replacement instead. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience. I encourage anyone facing a major repair to get a second opinion before authorizing expensive work.
