We are an older retired couple with limited endurance. This is our 2nd year using Sherman for firewood; the first year, we ordered 1/2 a cord; they delivered it promptly and stacked it neatly along our chain-link fence. The wood burned so beautifully that we used our wood-burning stove all winter, until we ran out of wood in February...so this year we ordered a whole cord. It was again neatly stacked, and the wood is burning great. After the delivery was made, the owner of the company called to make sure we were satisfied. This is an excellent company, their prices are fair, and we will continue to use them every year. We highly recommend them, and the extra fee for the stacking is well worth it. read more

They called me back that afternoon and by Friday I had a 1/2 cord of kiln dried mixed hardwood firewood. Supper happy with the service. The delivery was quick. This is my first experience purchasing firewood and I gotta say, this company certainly knows how to treat its customers. From the initial phone call all the way to the delivery, it was a first class white glove experience. I ordered the kiln dried 1/2 cord and they stacked so much wood on my new wood rack that the cover wouldn't even fit on it lol (see pics) My guess, is they gave me easily 3/4 cord for the price of a 1/2. High quality firewood with awesome service! My wife and I have been using our fireplace since 2003 and have bought from various firewood sellers in the region. Not knowing any better, we thought the "seasoned" firewood we had been getting over the years was fine -- difficult to start and difficult to keep going, but still usable with enough tinder. Late in the season last year (2020), I tried Sherman Outdoor Services for a 1/2 cord of kiln-dried firewood. It was the best wood we had ever received -- we were able to start fires from the wood sometimes without even using kindling. We tried their seasoned firewood this year, and the wood they delivered was really high quality: evenly split and cut; very, very dry compared to the seasoned wood from other companies. As a comparison point, in the past when buying from other companies, we would fill one to two large, outdoor trashcans full of left-over debris (dirt, rotted wood, mold) after stacking our wood; in contrast this year, with the wood from Sherman Outdoor, we had less than a half kitchen bag of debris... the rest was ALL very uniformly split and usable firewood -- much, much drier than the seasoned firewood we bought from other companies. Sherman Outdoor also went over instead of skimping us of what we paid for as one company had done to us in the past. Service from the delivery rep both last year and this year were friendly and just perfect. I am now sold on this company for firewood. Highly Recommended!!! Now several months into using the firewood from Sherman's Outdoor Services, we love the firewood even more: the firewood have been consistently easy to start and burn throughout the season. We recently had a new wood stove installed and ordered a 1/2 cord of kiln-dried firewood from Sherman. Couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. Richard responded promptly and we talked about delivery logistics. The wood itself is fantastic--it lights up immediately and burns clean. The cuts are also pretty uniform, so the wood stacked well and there weren't any big pieces that didn't fit in the stove (our stove doesn't have the biggest firebox so 16" or less pieces are ideal). One note: the eastern half of the beltway and surrounding areas are outside of the delivery area listed on Yelp, but Richard was still willing to deliver and stack the wood for a reasonable fee.
