Sherri is awesome. When I visited for my job interview she showed us around town and all the different housing options around. She helped negotiate through two offers, a new build and an older house. We ultimately ended up buying an older house through her in granite bay. She is really well connected. She has a guy for everything from insurance, pest, home eval etc. All of the people she recommends are awesome and offer a great price. For example the roofer she recommended was amazing. Super nice, thousands below all other quotes and did a bang up job. It has been a little over two years since I have met Sherri. She stays in touch and does not disappear after your purchase. Our family relocated from Illinois to Sacramento in September 2016. My husband's job recommended Sherri Patterson - deciding to work with Sherri was hands down the best decision we made! We were first time home buyers living out of state with a small child and one on the way - i.e. a lot going on and not a lot of time to fly back and forth to/from Cali. Sherri and her team set up a private portal where she recommended houses and we could add houses ourselves to the list. We trusted Sherri Patterson through our whole house buying process,s but in the end we felt very betrayed by her. We were first time home buyers and trusted she would look out for our best interests, but we were wrong. We had been shopping for a "fixer" that we could do renovation to, she knew this. When we entered escrow she ended up representing us and the seller, which was mistake #1. When the appraisal came back the house measured 2500 SF, but the tax records only stated 1450 SF. This should have been a MAJOR red flag for any relator and she just dismissed it. We trusted her and didn't fully understand the implications of this. In hindsight, I should have looked more into this, but again, I trusted her to look out for us. We learned shortly after escrow closed that this square footage difference meant that almost HALF the house was never permitted. Taxed weren't paid, space was never permitted. This was a NIGHTMARE since we had applied for a renovation permit to remodel the kitchen and remove a wall. We also came to find the past owners did disclose this to us and her, again, she never mentioned this to us nor called it out on the paperwork. Her response to all of this was very cloudy, she made it seem as if it wasn't a big deal etc. We trusted her and felt extremely betrayed, she either knew about this issue and just wanted to close a sale, or is truly incompetent. Every agent I have spoken to since was blown away how this even happened. We had to pay over $3,500 in back taxes, plans drawn of the house and permit fees. read more
