Located in the heart of Saratoga Springs, New York, the Roosevelt Baths have been a sanctuary for…read morehealing and rejuvenation for years. The Experience: As soon as I checked in, I was asked to choose an aromatherapy option for my bath. After changing, I waited in a calm relaxation room with tea and snacks until my name was called. The atmosphere was peaceful, setting the tone for the experience. The bath itself was deeply relaxing. One thing that surprised me was how deep the tub was--I wasn't expecting that. I remember wondering if the minerals would make the bath feel different, like maybe there would be some tingling, but it felt like a regular bath. The ambiance of the bathhouse was serene, with soothing music and dim lighting that really enhanced the relaxation. I've even shared my experience on YouTube, you can check out my full experience and get a feel for the vibes here: https://youtu.be/rZRi-EZA5zw It was interesting to learn that, back in the day, a bath here cost just $1.25, whereas now it's around $64. It's a bit expensive for a bath, so I'd say it's great for a one-time experience. However, I think the staff could do a better job of educating customers about the benefits of the mineral water--what it does and why it works--so we can actually understand the impact it has. It would be even better if they shared testimonials from long-term clients about how it's improved their lives. Pro Tips: 1. Enter the park through the Avenue of the Pines to avoid the $10 parking fee. 2. Check out the nearby creek--it's a gorgeous spot! Last time I visited, I set up a surprise picnic for our anniversary there. You can ask the staff at the front desk about it. For me, it's exciting to know the history behind Roosevelt Baths and to experience something that people in the past believed would heal their bodies and that once provided a natural luxury experience to everyday New Yorkers.

I was the only client, but the for some reason the tech sat 10 feet away from me and made me wait for ~10m before she came over to start my service. While waiting, I could take in the overall grunginess of the salon. I did not expect this at the Roosevelt, which is old but has charm and is usually clean. The floor linoleum was old and in need of replacement, or at least a deep cleaning. The pedicure was slipshod. My feet soaked in the lukewarm whirlpool for about 10m, then she took my feet out for the "massage", This consisted if her rubbing some lotion only on the front of my lower legs. Very disappointing. The manicure was borng as she made no attempt to make any sort of pleasant chit-chat, even when I did. I found out halfway through that they did not use gel polish, and both my mani and pedi had peeled off in a week. The whole thing cost me $120. It would have cost me $80 - with gel and much better service - in my hometown of Cambridge, MA. It's a good thing I downgraded from the deluxe mani/pedi, which would've set me back $145.

We were late on the jump because we changed the dates of our trip, and make appointments at different times. Barbara provided both massages in a beautifully decorated room that celebrated Sharon Springs past as a resort town after WWII. Cheryl, the owner, was knowledgable about the area and the history of the town. When I arrived I was invited to the inner waiting area which was nice and warm and served me a delicious loose leaf tea blend. The atmosphere was calming, the staff was easy going and I had plenty of time to relax before we started the massage. Barbara did a fantastic job and made me feel very comfortable and pampered. We really enjoyed the experience and left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. A great plus was that as compared with where we live, the price was about 30% less. I absolutely recommend the Spring House Spa!

Barbara explained everything that she was going to do. Pretty sure I got an upgrade. Not only did I get a neck shoulder and head massage, I also got my back massage and my arms as well. A hot towel rub down was pretty good too. The place looked clean to me and had a relaxing feel to it. The soft mellow music helps to relax. I found it to be very relaxing and it right around the corner from my house.

Such an amazing facial experience in Saratoga. As many others mention below, Crystal deserves ALL…read morethe stars! I would give 10 if I could. Crystal stressed that each facial is customized to the customer's needs. For every step we took in the process, she made sure to explain the ingredients and what it'll do to my face. Not only was it a great facial, but she also goes above and beyond to make sure that you're taking care of your skin properly. She was kindly shared tips on nutrition, skincare routine and what products to avoid, to use, etc. I'm new to the area and she also was quick to recommend restaurants, things to do, etc. Overall, she's just an enjoyable person to be around and chat with. After I left, I immediately told all of my girlfriends this is THE place to go for a facial in Saratoga as none of them have found places that they like here. This is also at a great location right off of Broadway. The atmosphere was inviting and peaceful. The entire set up was thoroughly cleaned and smelled of lavender (my fave).

I have problematic skin mixed with stress and she walked me through the process of taking care of my skin at home as well as which products I would need. I can't wait to return and see her! I wish I had taken a picture of the glow I had walking out of her establishment. FACES has such a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. The location is tucked right around the corner from the main strip. But don't be weary, the seclusion is like a well kept secret. Sort of an invite only establishment, lol!! Everything about FACES from the moment I walked in made me feel comfortable that my skin was in good hands. Lastly, during my appointment from consultation to treatment, each step felt effortless. I didn't realize how much time had passed and was almost disappointed that I had to leave! Thank you Crystal and see you soon!! -Kim

I too found it a little forward for her to ask that I fully undress. I normally leave my panties on and the therapists have always worked around this. But, also not being prudish I did as asked. I later regretted this. The massage started with 4 deep breaths where I felt extremely awkward. Then the tummy massage which I could have done without. The whole experience was terrible. I also wanted a deep tissue and not once did she find a kink and work it out like is normally done, and what I needed. Now to the really uncomfortable part that I hope by sharing keeps people away from this place. Normally a therapist is a little cautious when moving your limbs around and keeping the blanket in place as to keep a little modesty in the room. Not this lady. At the end I almost said something and walked out and regret now not doing so. I was laying on my stomach while she worked on my legs. My backside was completely uncovered while she had my leg in the air (while Im on my stomach) and rotating my foot. I know for a fact she had a good view of everything and couldnt help wonder if she was getting kicks out of this. I'm sorry- but it was just so terribly uncomfortable and odd. She was an older lady and I'd like to think not, but why on earth did she not cover my backside back up with the sheet?? Spend your money elsewhere. Stay away.
